Great videos. I have had a Helix LT, HX Effects, and Pod Go. I traded in my Helix LT for a Pod Go and got an HX One to fill in the gaps. I then bought another HX One for my Bedroom amp. What a fantastic pedal. So many options. Most importantly, Flux allows preset adjustment of an FX on the fly. One effect at a time simplifies things for me greatly, and being able to adjust that FX on the go makes it perfect.
The only video that ever talks about 4CM! I was thinking of getting this and want to confirm first if 4CM works. But I am not sure if you actually demo it while connected 4CM.
Great little demo. I’ve just replaced my H9 with HX One, and have quickly updated all of my G3 presets. I love how intuitive (compared to H9!) this is.
Glad you're digging it! Didn't take me too long to become enamoured with mine too, very easy unit to get stuck in with for sure. I still haven't been able to figure out why they labelled the pre/post in the way that they did
@@KaiDown the manual says choose whether you want the HX effects loops position before (pre) or after (post) the HX one modeling. So pre becomes moving your signal chain behind the hx one since the effects loops further forward in the chain and post becomes moving the signal chain in front of the hx one. Weird to think about that way but I guess it makes sense. Easier not to think much about it and just memorize Pre = effects loop, Post = front of amp
Also I don’t know why but to me the effects on the HX one sound better than on my helix or hx stomp. Maybe it is just how it works with the rest of my signal chain? Or maybe it is that new chip you mentioned they used
I just got mine. I love it except one big thing. Is the poly capo not usable. I seemd bad to me when you simply want to go up or downa semi tone. What do you think ?
Merry Christmas. It just doesn't sound natural. I have had the Helix Floor and it worked okay pitch shifting works well on the Fractal FM9 so I'm surprised but there is really nothing to adjust that I'm not aware of. With Helix floor when the volume was low it didn't sound right. I like the pedal quite a bit other than that but that's a bug feature I wanted to use. I haven't upgraded the firmware yet but I doubt that should matter.
Ended up using it on many a session (I have a friend who has played on TOP albums who uses it all the time). Like many others Jon Cordy was prepared to hate it and now thinks it's great. I started buying boutique pedals that I owned in 70's 80's. MXR Phaser, Ibanez Phaser, Various Vibes, Clone Theory etc ended up spending a mint and finding out that they weren't as good as I imagined. The mods on MS50g are great, especially phaser, some FX are s**t, fuzz is amazing. Use the editor and open the possibilities. The lesson to learn is that your guitar might be so low in the mix that a £300 modulation pedal makes no difference. Horses for courses but back the outsider now and then. @@KaiDown
The 4 cable method E equals Mc square times 3 is synonymous with they way it posts but the negative seems backwards and Boy was I confused! Seriously dude? lol
Thanks for this. I am someone who has never entered the Line 6 world and would potentially be interested in integrating this with my pedalboard. I have one question that maybe someone can help me with. I would love to use the FX loop to change the placement of the effect within my chain. I would want drives and pitch effects before my main drive section and wet effects after it. Can I put my overdrive pedals in the FX Loop of the HX One in order to do this? Thanks!
I don’t believe you can use it to reorder your physical pedals, but if you set the HX One in 4CM you can run the HX drives before your amp and the HX reverbs in the effects loop of your amp
@@KaiDown Got it. I was hoping to put my drive pedals in the place of the amp FX loop. That wet I can run wet FX from the HX One after my drives and pitch FX before them. For what it’s worth, I’m using at ACS1 for amps.

Does it take other pedals before and after it well for example eg stacking reverbs into reverbs and delays into delays... ...eg Andy Timmons style and also gain pedal stacking analogue to digital and vice versa. Is it true that you can’t save the effects on bypass? Every time I try, the effect goes back to ON when saving. I contacted Line6 and an agent said it’s not possible. So if I’m using the pedal live with an external midi switcher like I do with the M5, and I start scrolling, the effects engage automatically and will sound. That makes impossible to scrolling in a live situation. And makes this a toy and not a pro tool. Line6 missed a big one here, I hope you make an update soon and include all the things that the M5 does already, like being able to save the presets in bypass. The tuner doesn’t work on true bypass neither. I’m really disappointed with this thing so far! Please hurry up with that firmware update so we can feel we gave you $ for something useful!
It’s true, and a weird thing for sure. You can change the scrolling behaviour in the settings though, so that it doesn’t automatically engage every effect as you’re cycling through. There are quite a few teething problems with the unit that I’m hoping they square up soon
Sack the guitar player! He sucks! :P I noticed in this video and the last that your cell phone overhead cam was super shaky? Perhaps drop some stabilization on those clips to get it still? Or perhaps step up to a better tripod/stand. I really like using weighted music stands for cameras because they take up no space and are very sturdy. It’s perfectly usable for me, no worse than the Digitech Drop. What issues are you having?

Nice review but I wont be be getting rid of my Zoom MS50G, the 'sleeper' session guitarists pedal..... AND it runs of 2 AA batteries.
I really hated the MS50G 😄 Totally horses for courses though, if you get good results from it for your use case then that's all that matters
