DIY is one of my favorite channels. He breaks things down to easy to understand steps which is great when trying to figure out the government gibberish involved with starting a common carrier business. A great rescource for my fledgeling business. Thanks.
What criteria he has been using to handpick his trucks on the market? Would be nice if he could make a video for us. Above all, he is a good man. God bless him
This guy here I like him he take her out what he's supposed to first meaning his drivers like he said that's how it's supposed to be and he right he'll keep his drivers
Nice guy. Congrats 👏 please factor though. You need money coming in fast. Just consider that as a lower Linehaul. You'll go bankrupt waiting to get paid. It doesn't matter how much reserves you have the whole point is more money coming in that going out.
Kinda misleading title... going from 1 to 7 in 7 months isn't accurate. He's been driving and saving his whole life and he's almost 50. I don't encourage anyone that's a noob to go out and try to buy 7 trucks 😂
I agree. I love this channel but some of the success stories on here are unattainable for most guys driving for a meager paycheck. I bought my first truck at age 21, had 4 trucks by age 25. Got injured real bad and sold them off. I bought 3 trucks two years after my injury, and that's what I've been comfortable with. We operate 3 gliders, make money and live pretty good. Some of these guys on here, bragging about "I started with 1 truck, now I have 50", good for them. 50 trucks will bring bankruptcy a lot quicker than 3,lol
That's a good boss / owner there sounds like perhaps some of his drivers had some mishaps and he did not fire them because he thinks it will build loyalty and probably will
DIY made a live stream shortly after this and apologized to anyone that may have felt he was a bit harsh with his words. Edit: It was actually fine. I don’t see what he meant.
I've been driving class B for 4 years can I just pass the dmv test class A and just jump into class A big riging or is it mandatory u have experience in big trailer
You can take your road test in a Class A truck, big difference between a dump truck and a semi, just saying. But as far as you just getting a job and a truck just because you passed a road test and drive a Class B, forget it. Your B experience means absolutely nothing to companies and insurance companies. As far as experience goes, the industry considers you as no experience, in neither a Class A truck or OTR. Even now if a semi driver quits driving for a few years, it's almost always required to have to go through a refresher course with a company to start driving again in a semi. Good luck
Man Alex! thank you for starting this channel, it’s very informative and motivating for company drivers like myself aspiring to start an owner operator venture. Having guys like this on here is awesome sharing personal wins & losses in the trucking game. I appreciate you 🤙🏾💯
I need some advice fellas. So I will be going on 1 year driving with same company on September 1st 2021 and as a rookie the dispatch runs me till my time is out and then I'm stuck after I said I don't have time to do this load .the office already talked to me about this and gave me a verbal warning and said next time it will be Is suspension or termination. So right now as I'm writing this ionly have 3 hrs left and have to wait for 2 other tankers to get loaded. So looks like I will be stuck in Richmond, California I'm so fucking mad I might just leave go back to the yard ? Should I stay work things out with the company or should I move on fell like quitting on them so bad
Talk with the safety officer in your company they’ll tell you what to do. Dispatch can shove it you need a load back to the yard when your hours are up or you need to be getting paid from their scheduling mistake.
How do you run out of hours? Are you using your recap? Are you trying to log everything you do as on duty? Shit, even running a paper log and not cheating, I seldom ever need a 34 restart or run out of hours. How fast are you going through your 70, five days, 6 days, 7 days? Do you know how to recap, I ask because I have run across guys who will say "I was at 68 hrs last night, can't roll today"... but they got 7 hrs back at midnight, they just don't know how to use a recap. Do like the other guys said, save pics of all messages, go to the safety manager or grow a set of balls, and quit. Why tf do you guys continue to be treated like dog shit by companies, and just smile and take the fucking? Bro, they threatened you with termination for following FMCSA HOS rules, fuck them, and while you are at it, take pics of all messages and file anonymous complaint with FMCSA, believe it or not, they actually investigate that shit.
@@markm0000, yeah tell him to be a good little slave and grovel like all of the company sheep. No, encourage him to grow a pair and quit. He's already been threatened with termination for following FMCSA HOS regs, this boat has sailed with that company.

He has a video on his channel doing just that. I've watched it a dozen times 😂
His channel was mentioned in this video. Attention to detail is pretty critical in trucking. Just sayin'.

Waupun was a great show lots of trucks showed up.

Seems like a great guy wouldn’t mind driving for him
Amen
Great guy diy.

Maaan. Cool guy, but why not to care about your health. You can say he is really overweight. Even in trucking you can stay healthy and exercise …

Not mandatory to have experience. Just past the written and driven exam and you're good. You can start looking for a job.
@@katjerouac that's true I notice since I posted there's a few jobs that will take u
I’ll drive for him as long as the pay is right
