NEIL DIAMOND CENTRAL: I have applied this incredibly patriotic and moving song to the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot that, unlike the World Trade Centre (Twin Towers) and Boston Bombings, threatened the very foundations of American democracy.
This insurrection was incited by then President Donald J Trump (45). It was a watershed moment in America. You came exceedingly close to losing your democracy and becoming a fascist dictatorship under one who greatly admires dictators the world over… Adolf Hitler (Germany), Vladimir Putin (Russia), Xi Jinping (China), Kim Jong Un (North Korea), et al. He is no friend or admirer of leaders and countries of true democracies.
Worth noting that in 2020, then President Donald Trump said this (verbatim) to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: "You need to understand that if Europe is under attack, we will never come to help you and to support you." Music to President Putin and President XI's ears.
This considering that the Unites States was one of the founding members of NATO, established on 4 April 1949 via the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty (Washington Treaty). The 12 founding members of the Alliance were: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The treaty states that if an armed attack occurs against one of the member states, it shall be considered an attack against all members, and other members shall assist the attacked member, with armed forces if necessary.

i love all of Neil Diamonds songs but this one out does it it takes us back in time to all of the attacks on this country and on January sixth was the worse because our own president did this with some of the republicans backing him we don't need those kind of people taking care of this country so i thank him for this song i have always loved our military and my family was in the military and i married into it they sure are the brave people defending this country and then that happened and some people are still out to try and take it dow and we can't let that happen

I always Neil Diamond’s fan then and now but it’s too bad and sad I did not even saw him perform in person.just found recently that he performed here San Francisco 1979. All I can say is that, he is one of the best artists I have ever known ! 🙏❤️

I love this song and the video with it it should be played all the time like an American anthem it takes us through the attack on American grounds and we have survived it all and what trump and his republican party we will survive this time he will never get away with or I should say they will never get away with it and we have to make sure that even that trump will run for president we the voters have to make sure he can't win so we have to vote for the Democrats it is all up to us now.

My father was an Anglican minister and we were involved in civil rights here as our indigenous folk were not citizens nor could vote (although they fought in 2 world wars ) until 1968-9 when our freedom movement followed Dr MLKing' Jr. Now you and your folk have inspired me to limber up and re create the dance. 🤠 we are just south of Lady Elliott Island in Queensland. After watching a video of Lee Greenwood backing up trump with his bibles and selling them from the back of his trunk and he wrote the song God Bless the USA how could anyone back someone who is out to destroy this country and disrepect it I have never thought I could never not like a person as much as someone that will back uptrump and I always loved that song but now it doesn't mean as much to me as it use to and now Neil Diamond with this song says it all this should be a number one song and the second national anthem not the J 6 version that trump backs up so once again thank you for this beautiful song this will always be in my heart and I'm sure this goes for other people he always writes beautiful songs we can cherish and our kids and there kids and so on and so on

So very comforting to know that are still many in the United States (sanity and intelligence prevail) who haven't been conned by the con man/snake oil salesman; they're now manacled to the Cult. As with all true democracies, the presumption of innocence imposes on the prosecution the burden of proving the charge and guarantees that no guilt can be presumed until the charge has been proved beyond reasonable doubt. That said, no one is above the law, not even the President of the United States. Don't know much about Bolsonaro, except that he is an ultra-right-wing conservative and admirer of Donald Trump.
