I have a 2018 Mazda 6 GT reserve and this car been treating me well for two years so far. It’s an elegant design meant for more mature crowd. Knobs works great for navigating through the head unit. After a month you get used to it you can do everything while your eye still on the road not having to worry about touching the screen. Of course a UA-cam review guy will not understand the knob when they don’t have the time to learn it which is not their fault. Also I have the white interior and it’s all looking the same color. As long as you keep it clean like any other car and take care of the leather which I clean every 3-4months it will look clean. If you abuse it it will look like crap like any other material. Leather seems really solid, Camry looks like a teenager’s dream to me. When I test drove the accord 2.0T , Mazda , or Camry at 2018 it was a no brainer. The TQ the Mazda offered just made it so easy to drive on a regular basis road. Not only straight flat road. Accord drove just as well too so for me it came down to accord or Mazda in performance view. In the end Mazda 6 looked much better than the accord (rear of accord looks hideous to me) so I chose this car and never been happier.
The Mazda looks way better. Plus the Toyota wheels look like a spare wheel. Mazda just makes better vehicles than Toyota. The Mazda even looks more upmarket and expensive. The TOYota looks cheap as usual.
Sorry, I have to disagree. Not many Mazda cars in the US or any parts of the world that dates back in the 80s that are still on the road. Mazda can't even do a rotary engine right.
Say all you want but Toyota’s are the best cars for longevity and very little maintenance. I’ll take that over anything else even tho I disagree with you on the looks. The Camry looks more sporty
The honda whoops the mazda pretty good. The honda is actually faster then the camry as well. Forrest reviews did a video where he raced all three and the 2.0 accord was the quicker
I dunno how but Mazda’s are just quicker. I recently had a 2015 mazda 6 GT and traded it in for a 2019 RAV4 Adventure and the mazda was not only way more fun to drive but it was also much quicker (and it was a 2015). I test drove 2019 Camry’s and they weren’t even as quick as my 2015 Mazda so yeah, the Camry’s look awesome but behind the wheel they’re just not as much fun to drive. Great video guys✌🏽
Hey Tommy, you didn’t mention the display inside the front window of the Mazda 6 signature that shows your speed, GPS directions, stop signs, or that HUGE BRAKE sign that lights up! Lol...

Tommy, I get you don’t like the white in the 6, so get the black. It is called giving people a choice. The infotainment system is perfectly usable and the controller knob is great. You like the childish design of the Camry but most people buying these cars want elegance and sophistication.
To each his own, but most people cross-shopping Camrys, Mazda6s, and Accords aren't looking for elegance and sophistication. If its there on some level, as in the case of the Mazda 6, its almost a bonus, but most people shopping this segment are looking for a reliable grocery getter that's comfortable and has decent power.
Tommy - use the star button next to the rotary knob to get to the presets or toggle through the steering wheel control. The Mazda system takes less than hour to get setup and get use to. It’s so simple and you can use it without taking your eyes off the road.
I'm sorry but after getting used to the knob interface in a Mazda, the idea of reaching for the touch screen is too much effort, also slightly more distracting. So effortless to use, just as Mazda intended. Also, pretty funny seeing a car(Camry TRD) with all that phony racer styling completely loose to a car that isn't exactly known for being fast..
I was at a strip mall and a gentleman came up and ask about my madza cx 5 turbo . He love the looks and like the interia. Said it was like the Q5 which is a great compliment. He is planning to buy the cx-5 When learned about the price and driving dynamic.
Touch screens are not safe in vehicles. I think it is so silly. There is no feedback from a touch screen and things do not stay in the same position. You have to physically look what you are touching. The knob IS much better since you get tactile feedback and you know what you are selecting far easier. It is why Mazda locks the touch screen when moving.
Arman Maaba I’m sure anyone would pick a v6 over any 4turbo and pick a v8 over any v6 twin turbo. I’m SURE. and it’s the camrys trans that’s the issue. The engine is 20 times better than Mazda.
I am a HUGE fan of Mazda. I bought a Mazda 3 back in 2012. That car took great care of me. Amazing performance and gas mileage. Payed cash for it back then and decided to pass it down to my Son. I just bought a 2020 Mazda 6 Grand Touring with all the bells and whistles. The most AMAZING car I have ever owned.
Mazda’s infotainment is one of the best in the market. I feel a lot safer turning the knob rather than touching the screen while I am driving. Lookwise Mazda’s front is a head turner.
Norm T just stfu we all know you’re a fricking Buick and GM shill and you probably are working at a Buick dealership and just want to sell another car to a 70 year-old. We all know GM’s build quality is garbage, and apparently all you look at is CR for your “info”. The RDX is way better equipped, more luxurious, and more reliable, and looks way better
And the RDX is actually .2 seconds faster 0-60 at 6.4 seconds compared to the Envision’s 6.6 seconds and the RDX comes with more standard power, a larger screen (10.25”), a better sound system, a much more luxurious interior with real leather and aluminum trim
My 2005 Mazda 6 V6 hatchback in 'Blazing Copper' color was my favorite car I've ever owned. I fit a twin air mattress in the back and drove 4 days to Alaska and then later drove back. Excellent car.
I've had my 2018 Mazda 6 Sport with manual with a little over 2 years. Mazda is correct in regards to the ease of use with the rotary knob versus the touchscreen, as the need to use the touchscreen is completely unnecessary. The rotary knob serves it purpose with no need to touch the screen for navigating the infotainment.
Everyone complained how Toyota’s cars looked boring and uncool, Toyota is at least trying to make the Camry and all other models look nice inside and out. Toyota does a lot of quality control that’s where some of the money goes when you buy one, your paying for quality and reliability, and as an extra Toyota wants to make there lineup looks cool and interesting . So don’t be bashing them when there trying.
I consider Mazda's rotary knob as a safety feature, less distracting than trying touch a screen while driving.. Well young people will pick the Camry, mature will pick the classy looking Mazda6..
I knew from the beginning that the Mazda would win. I’ve had a Mazda as my first car and from the moment I got in and pressed the gas, the car floored it forward. Mazda’s as FAST and have a lot of power.
Before the drag race I bet on Toyota, but a nice surprise at the end! I own a Mazda 6 and I do not find it a fast car, but when I go to service it and they look underneath I love the mechanics face saying "oh, it has the original parts" and is 2010.
I've spoken to one of Mazdas product managers who is an old friend of mine and he told me that there's an all new inline 6 RWD Mazda 6 in the works, it's going into production by the end of next year. I can't wait!!!
I don't remember often hearing journalists complain about the scroll wheel in BMW Audi Mercedes ...who all used this type of system for very long time from early 2000 to 2019.🤔🤔...i prefer a scroll wheel very easy to use .
I’m a spirited driver. Every TRD I’ve encountered has really surprised me when it comes to performance. Maybe they were hooked up on top of the TRD upgrade...but they All, around 5, have surprised me which is why I respect that TRD emblem.
Well, Tommy, I m a Mazda fan so I dont agree with you on most points LOL. But one thing I do agree with you is about the touch screen function in Mazda. I am a one who likes to touch the screen when playing or changing songs, while driving though. I don think using a touch screen while driving can be dangerous, as I dont focus too long on the screen, I instead glimpse at it while the eyes still catching on the road. So that Mazda said that touching and looking at the screen while driving is rather not practical. I m more accustomed to touching rather rotating the knob on the control console. I also think it s quite complicated and hard to use with the control knob and I m sure there s no one who can precisely recognize the rotating action when using the screen. They somehow have to look or glimpse at the screen coz they have to check if the button they choose is correct or not. So, in all, I like everything in Mazda 6 except for one thing, no touch screen available😄😁
@@theodorekell Yeah all across the line up they are using more sound deadening, and the cars are more equipped, so the weight has crept up, some things are better, but I remember part of what they were going with when the latest 6 came out was lower weight than previous models. You guys think a company like Mazda did not do thousand upon thousand of hours of tests/ material variations with cleaning tests for the dashboard white upholstery. Not to mention decades of experience. Your "worry" that hands are going to get it dirty fast is unfounded. Unless the owner is not a total pig and takes at least a little bit of the car, its fine. And in any case, people who need purely utilitarian vehicles are not going to buy a sporty Mazda with a white interior.
The first time I saw a new Camry with the drooping gasket lines beneath the tail lights, I thought I was looking at collision damage. Yes, to me, Toyota always finds new ways to uglify their cars.
The presets are hard to find in the Mazda? They're literally found by pressing the star button to the right of the knob you were touching. Nowhere further to look.
“Some of the commenters are going to disagree with me” lol. Yeah I do, I had a scion iA for a while (rebadged mazda 3), I got used to the knob very quickly, I actually found myself using it even when the car was stopped so I didn’t have to reach (laziness I know).
Simon yes, but keep in mind that particular Mazda 6 that they were driving is a signature model, top of the line with all the bells and whistle‘s that that Camry TRD does not have
@@dorranrobinson6207 if a car is designed from the factory with a turbo and that specific amount of boost the longevity won't be affected, especially if you don't thrash it like a teenaged WRX owner. Different story if the turbo was added on to a car not intended to have one
because most of the people that buy the toyota are usually loyal costumers or for the reliability. Other than that the mazda and the accord are better driver cars by far.
Mazdas are bought by enthusiasts and people who judge each car in the class objectively. If you're buying on reputation for reliability alone, it's going to be Toyota. If you do comparison between all the cars in the class, it's very hard to think of reasons to not buy the Mazda.
Mazda could offer black chrome instead of bright to give it a sportier look. Ironic Tommy picks the Camry, but kept pointing out all the flimsy tacked on plastic trim pieces. The Camry just looks cheap. As for the rear legroom, the Mazda front seat might travel farther making the rear tighter. Kind of misleading test.
So when Jeep puts little Jeeps/logos everywhere they’re called “easter eggs” and are fun but when Toyota puts TRD everywhere its “in your face”? Gotta be non biased guys. I love your videos but I also love consistency.
If I was to buy a Camry V6, I would just get the XSE and buy the TRD exhaust, I don't think all those side skirts and spoilers go very well with a handsome design.
Interesting that moving the seat back and finding the back seat leg room is large or small is a hard answer to justify. I looked at the numbers of the two cars and although the Mazda wins in both front and rear leg room your tall body did prove a point of the longer track on the Mazda car seat. Unless you disprove their measurements, I would always check their advertised numbers. I personally think Toyota has always had a "hello kitty" artist in their automotive style shop. Not pretty, but full of shapes and gizmo designs in Lexus, Toyota and former Scion. It could be a generation thing. Toyota is trying to be the Japanese "everybody car". I'm a safety freak and love the control of my information screen by a control wheel. I've tried the touch pad and that still takes your eyes off the road to find a spot to touch.

Leather seems really solid,
Camry looks like a teenager’s dream to me.
If you spend a few days with Mazda infotainment system it becomes intuitive
The Mazda looks way better. Plus the Toyota wheels look like a spare wheel. Mazda just makes better vehicles than Toyota. The Mazda even looks more upmarket and expensive. The TOYota looks cheap as usual.

That Camry looks so plastic.
It seems like Toyota borrowed the designer of the Civic Type R for the Camry

I've had my 2018 Mazda 6 Sport with manual with a little over 2 years. The rotary knob serves it purpose with no need to touch the screen for navigating the infotainment.
Everyone complained how Toyota’s cars looked boring and uncool, Toyota is at least trying to make the Camry and all other models look nice inside and out.
I can also assure you, this a easy to use knob. It almost impossible to STOP using it

Camry is trying a little hard. Mazda looks better
