Full Exposure: My Rates I started at $10 an hour, and then moved to $500 a month when my calendar got full, I started charging more and more $500 became $600, became $1k, became $2.5k and then $5k and more And I did this while working at an agency, where I started at $3500 a month and made my way to $75k as Supervisor at Omnicom spending over $1M a day FACTS: 3 clients who pay $3k = over $100k a year, and that's a KILLER part-time job
Thanks, Dara! The videos you make have really leveled up recently, you can definitely feel the courses you've taken having an impact... It's like watching one of those professional big- name storytellers on UA-cam. Thanks for working so hard on improving your craft, it really shows!
This was super helpful, thank you!! I started at an agency and got my hands on dozens of high spending accounts which gave me the confidence to start freelancing later down the line. Media buying is a great career!
Totally W/ starting in an agency but disagree with the "work in an agency for as long as possible". I think the following works better. What I did was, I worked in an agency, learned from multiple accounts BUT when the learning got repetitive and could clearly tell what to do, I moved to my own thing.
Hi Dara- We have a new campaign BROAD/1 DCT/at $10/day running for 9 days now--- Our CTR is about 2.5% (decent?) but CPM is really high at $36 (apparel brand) with NO SALES--- Is there something wrong? Do we need to turn OFF and is our daily spend too low to get enough data or traffic? CTR w/ creative seems OK....
Thank you, Dara! Could you please help me with this…? 1. Can you run best performing ad creatives for different products in 1 Advantage + Campaign? Or is it better to do different advantage + campaigns for each product separately? 2. Should we run Advantage + campaign for each country separately or target all our markets together in one advantage + Campaign?
Ideally use one adv+ campaign per product or atleast per product category, depending on the store. But you definitely dont want two widely different products with different demographics and price points in one campaign 2. One per country is better, you can easily adjust spend per market and fiddle with the results better
Could anyone help me out? Basically I run ads for a ”school” that offers educational programs for people. 1-2 years. BOF ads are doing okay Where I Use a custom Conversion That is = send in application But, I struggle to scale them because I need new people at TOF to explain What we Do and How it helps. (Its not Uni) So… For TOF ads Where we more introduce stuff like ”want to make a career change?” Or something like That… do I still go for Conversion objective or should I opt for Reach, traffic, landing page views etc? I’m a lot more used to Ecom where the decision process time is shorter vs someone commiting to 2 years of studies (customer journeys can be long, like 1-12 months)
Thank you for sharing and creating this valuable information for us. I am a full-time digital marketing executive in an advertising agency. I completely agree that the amount of exposure I get every day is invaluable. Working with different clients in different industries and with different requirements allows me to learn something new every day, which is something I love about my job. Although I know all the theory behind Google Ads, I haven't had any hands-on experience with it yet. Can you please recommend some good UA-cam channels where I can learn Google Ads from beginner to advanced level? I would also like your advice on whether I should pursue a CDMP certification from a digital marketing institute based in Ireland. Thank you for your help. I look forward to hearing back from you. Peace ☮️
Hello, Hi, hey - phenomenal video Dara, you’re so well spoken. So I run an OOH company and I’ve found that I can use this as a medium to actually drive traffic to social media platforms. I’d like to develop my business into the social media advertising space too and I think learning how to be a media buyer is the first step in the right direction. Do you or anyone else here have any advice on where to start?
HEY DARA, We''ve spent $150 ($10/day for 2 weeks/BROAD USA/clothing brand...) so far. New campaign/account/1DCT: 3% CTR, about 77 landed clicks, NO SALES & $40 CPM!!! What's wrong? And was our budget too low to start? Isn't $150 total enough to at least see a sale? CTR is decent... but CPM is horrible :/
So when he says If your ad doesn't get 50 conversions in one week, the ad is not ready to scalse.. 1. What kind of budget are we talking about per day ? 2. How expensive is the product?
thank you again!
it was a pleasure to be a part of your vid
