These aliens must be tired of life. Who breaks into a house where Mad Max, the joker and the little brother of Kevin McCallister live?!
Your comment has achieved meme perfection.
Isn’t that the girl from Zombie Land?
You missed the girl from Zombieland and you may also refer to the killer from scream 4 instead of kevin brother
@@davidarellano9931 Yes, you are right

This movie scared the crap out of me as a child, I remember screaming refusing to sleep! My poor mother ha.
So relatable.
Julianna Scally soooooo relatable, I’ve been looking for this movie for years, to see what all the fuss was about as a kid😂 and to bring back a lot of childhood memories
I would not get out of the shower for hours. My father finally came home from work and talked me out.
Y'all need Jesus and holy water.
@@adeelhussain8978 thats totally me right now. Been searching this movie for a long time. Today april 30 finally seen this again.
One of my favourite films of all time. I must have watched it at least 20 times. The part where the alien's hand springs out from underneath the door to get at Mel Gibson gave me the chills till this day.
Mr Coldharbour yeah best alien movie ever but I always wondered when graham used the knife he didn’t see a reflection so why did he go back to the pantry to use the knife again any thoughts?
It's a great movie
My favorite movie with no doubt, gives me a lot of *nostalgia*
So Aliens come to a planet that is 80% water and water kills them?! Not a good movie.

One of the best horror movies in my opinion. Even the screen where you press play is so eerie and creepy. I love it. Right now i have the chills from watching the trailer!
The beginning credits are so eery. Really drags you into the world M Night created and puts you on edge from the very start!

So much nostalgia. My mom took my siblings and I to see this movie when it came out. This one and the ring (2002) were the scariest movie I've ever seen.

That dinner scene is heartbreaking.
Despite Mel Gibson's off screen......personality, he knows how to make you believe he is upset and crying. He has very expressive eyes.
The entire movie was perfectly acted (barring the kids, who are excused of course, yet even they showed up!).
Great writing, characters, and execution.

what a brilliant movie ! the amount of thriller and mystery and the tension build up toward the end is incredible even the alien was presented in a small amount of time the movie and especially the acting is terrifying
LL
For some reason an Intelligent being that walks upright is far scarier than anything that walks on fours and has a big set of teeth etc
Maybe us too, like all other animals on this planet understand: fear the two legged.
I think it's called the uncanny valley. It's basically because the idea of something that resembles us but is not part of our species triggers out fight or flight mechanism. Prolly as a consequence of evolution and fighting between primitive humans and neanderthals
It's because it displays intelligence... Or sinister intention.
An animal with big teeth on all fours will only attack for two reasons - To eat you to survive, or to attack you in self defense... To survive.
It's pretty much always that way in the natural world.
Think of even a big lion - If it's completely full and isn't hungry, and you're not threatening it, it probably won't be interested in you.
Same with a shark. Sure, they're big and can easily kill a human. But if it isn't hungry and you're not seen as a threat, it probably doesn't care that you even exist.
But an alien on the other hand. It's not hungry, and you're not threatening it.
But it's still coming for you. For what reason?
It goes against nature, and that might be why we fear it. We don't know what its intention may be.
@@dragos8839 doesn't population statistics (I don't know if they're correct) say that Humans only started about 15 thousand years ago?
@@commentcomment9700 we're dinosaurs the same as anything else.
What makes this movie exceptional and special is that, at the same time, while watching the film, we feel creepiness but also warmth. The creepiness is caused by the whole situation with the crops and the aliens, which, unlike the aliens in other films, are extremely mysterious throughout the film until the final act, and the warmth we get while watching the family relationships, especially the way the brother treats his little sister . I don't know of any previous film that contains all that. If I'm wrong, tell me. Anyway, the film is a masterpiece and, as far as I can tell, it was made using minimal financial resources.
Perhaps the poltergeist. The movie has a lot of soul, and a real terrifying theme of a little helpless child being taken from her mommy and daddy. Especially when she runs through Diane and Diane can smell her, and when Steven is trying to revive Carol Ann and Diane in the bath tub.
That is a good take I can agree with. Though I feel the creepiness overshadows the warmth all throughout The movie.
I never did see this trailer before the movie came out. I remember being creeped out by the music score of the other trailer that mostly showed pictures of crop circles. The music contributed to the suspense of the film almost as much as the acting and scenery did.
Did you just say.... *War of the Worlds?*
Tripods: *Let us join the party.*
I got it
Tripods and the signs aliens can chat about how bad they hate germs and water!
All jokes aside though, I like the philosophical side of how both aliens were taken down. How WotW aliens crushed the human race and our technology, but were defeated by mother Nature. Also, how Signs aliens represent demons and are killed by Holy water, following the main characters priest/religious struggle throughout the film
One of my favorite Mel Gibson movies. I love Night Shymalan movies.
One of the creepiest movies I’ve ever seen! M. Night Shamalan is the bomb- gets under your skin- stays in your head - more than 18 years for me! The 6th sense- nightmares!!

The hidden lovecraftian implications and aspects of this horror movie always gave me the chills. It‘s like a one of its kind in its genre movie that really stands out and is pretty eerie when it comes to the horror aspect…
What specifically Lovecraftian elements were present?
@@gotgodcomplex1874 I was wondering the same thing too. Religious symbolism for sure but I’m missing the lovecraft
It must be so well hidden that you're the only one who's seen it
A lot of people in these replies seem to not understand what OP means what they said "lovecart implications".
Lovecarft does not equal squid-monsters. Its more of a way to describe the Unknown Alien mystery.
Examples would be when the TV guy talks about the circles appering before in human history, and the biggest one is why theyre here at all. Everyone assumes it was an invasion but at the end we learn it was a mass abduction of humans. For what reason? Will they ever come back? As far as the movie goes, we'll never know and thats what makes it Lovecraft.
I know that can be said about any alien story but that's probably because he pioneered the genre
@@skinlesscletus8825 thanks for clarifying it cause I genuinely thought he meant the disgusting tentacle monsters also I would LOVE to see a sequel to this
Just watched this again last night. It's been years and years since I last saw it but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I still jumped even though I knew when the creepy bits were going to happen.
Watched this movie on VCR back in 2003 with my siblings, brings back to great memories 💓
I loved this movie. Well played by all actors.
You guys should watch this. It’s a great movie and I watch it all the time, it gives me a good scare at some parts.
I loved this brilliant and amazing movie
Filmed largely in the area where I live and/or locations with which I'm pretty familiar. Signs (2002) went before the cameras twenty years ago in the summer of 2001. Twenty years ago, enough to make me feel ancient now.
My girlfriend (later my fiancée) had a good story from ingratiating herself right onto the front line (barricades for the night shoot prevented her from going any further) of production on the night the crew was filming the scene inside the Army Recruiting Office on State Street in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
After the night's shooting had wrapped my girlfriend almost literally bumped into Joaquin Phoenix, completely unaware of who she was speaking to, and she asked the actor, "Is there anyone famous here?" True story and she stuck to it until she passed away from complications of cancer surgery in 2016.

1:22 the little girl was so calm but she never lied
The thrill in this movie kept my heart beating hard like no other.
I was about 5 when I watched this by myself 😂😂😂. Had no idea what I was doing. But we had family friends in the countryside of Guam and they lived off the land. So here I am in a shipment container with a 3x3 box tv a foot away watching this at night with a lantern above me for light 😂. I don’t remember the ending at that time but I do remember the birthday party scene and I believe I just ran out to my mom outside 😅
This trailer always gives me goosebumps
This one is the only one that ends with Mel in the cornfield all by himself. It makes it creepier than the other trailers. At least in the official trailer he's home safe with his bro and kids almost defending the house from an alien attack
My All time favorite movie wonderful superb great. Melgebson

Great captivating movie and cute 5 yr old Bo's dialogues also 💫❤

Scene where they are all having their last meal and they have a teary group hug. Gibson is at his emotional best!;
Ok this is a well made trailer. It doesn’t reveal too much like most trailers nowadays do. It gives you enough to know it’s about aliens and they seem to be attacking earth and they give you a little tease at the end with leg.
True. Trailers are awful these days. There is always about 5 of them and they are always too revealing.

Signs is an absolute masterpiece
I was 12 year old ( I'm now 33) I remember my mother taken me to cinema and it was when the dog was barking at bow someone at cinema open the door to go to toilet I'd assume, behind my seat the door slammed shut, I can only tell u with words... that I had my first out of body experience to this day I still fear that scene lol
This movie is so unappreciated. I love it.
I'm glad my dad took me to the theaters to watch this movie when I was 10 years old
and build my love for aliens , horror and movies
I did this to Lisa, while Bart's is the California Adventure promo from "Toy Story 2" VHS and DVD and Homer's is Veigar Margeirsson's "Fearless", during the "Chicken Little" trailer, the "He saw the signs. He tried to warn us. Now; in our darkest hour, he's got a plan to save us all! Run!" one!
My favorite since 2002, when I saw it as a child
Never seen this movie but I'm 13 in July 2023 and I hope the boy kid is ok
I first watched signs at the age of 8/9.. I was traumatized! mostly because of the birthday party scene but the one that really got me as a child was "there's a monster outside my bed, can I have a glass of water" and then he looks up and see's the alien outside... well me and my family have almost the exact house as them so my room was pretty close to hers and I would stay up ALL night and didn't sleep because I thought a alien was gonna kill me.... fast forward to 2018 and I was watching it non stop and its still one of my fav movies 🤣
I imagined how they were conspiring on the roof of my house to be able to kidnap me and for many nights I used to look out the window and I couldn't help but think that someday they would be there, and also the birthday video almost seems like a memory of my own hahaha, what a beautiful childhood we had

@@V8AmericanMuscleCar haha I hear ya!
Signs is officially 20 today!
I remember i saw it in the Adirondacks
Grossed over $400 million
My first introduction to Joaquin Phoenix, Abigail Breslin, and Rory Culkin
One of Mel Gibson's best before he became controversial of a man's reaffirmation of his belief in God
At the time M. Night Shyamalan was being hailed as the next Speilberg, it's a shame cause his career peaked so early
Love James Newton Howard's score
I still can't believe Nostalgia Critic thought it was horrible even though many critics and audiences enjoyed it
He says it's overly-dramatic, annoyingly slow, has an ego when it comes to its own style, and any sense of logic is totally ignored
Millions of other twists could've worked and the aliens look like every other one we've seen
The camerawork is kinda goofy
Plus the lines delivered by these actors seem a bit empty barely resembling human emotion
But I still think it works with this broken family learning to patch itself back together facing this alien invasion
I am proud because my State Karnataka capital city Bangalore (now called Bengaluru) name mentioned there 🙏💛❤️
This movie brings back great memoirs of the spoof in Scary Movie 3

The aliens actually don’t look like this. But they might already be in your neighborhood... 🛸
True that they are. I'm not sure if your comment was talking about the truth of alien life. They also shape shift yet people will think it's not real until they see a UFO and orbs many times. They've been here for a long time. We live in space so it's possible that there's more out there than human life.
@@ed3bn936 I'm not sure why you think so but a lot of people have known of other species besides our own. I'm not sure why there is a need to be worried about what other people think if we talk about the truth. Who cares. Millions of witnesses including me, my boyfriend, my friends and other people for years. So surreal what they can do. How they come and go without making a sound. What they look like, some are small and very tall. Maybe you're young but I'm almost 40 now and they've been here for a long time. We do live in deep massive universe and no there is no protected barrier of earth but just the magnetic field that extends into space to protect solar flares from the sun. Astroids aka space rocks and other things fall into our atmosphere all the time. There's nothing actually protecting us, but gravity.. we're just lucky.
How do you know what we look like?.👽 We may just have to pay you a little visit, a bit of butt probing perhaps.😠
