I am a loyal “fan” (I don’t mean the crazy fan here) of them for more than 17 years. I even know the band members personally. Most of their songs are related to issues of humanity, world, politics. We can consider them a political rock band actually. Even the love songs of theirs have fine allusions critisizing the system. Their lyric writing technique is unique. As Turkish is a flexible language, has many synonyms and figurative expressions, combined with their skills of playing with the words, the point of their lyrics is under the surface. It’s never what’s seen on the surface, I like how it guides people to read between the lines. So smart, so clever, so fine touched. This song was written in 2001 but found it’s place in an album in 2004, Dünya Yalan Söylüyor (the world is lying). That album literally exploded. The band wasn’t that much popular or known by a wide range of people before the explosion came with the song Cambaz (the first video came out of this album). It created a new group of audience that comes to the gigs knowing only this two songs. As you can see here in the comments too. But if you like to see how Harun the frontman uses his voice, you should check some other songs like Kara Kutu, Güneşi Beklerken, and some others. The older fans like me were a bit frustrated about this Cambaz craziness but we accepted it in the long run. Anyway. Long story short, this performance was from their first “symphonic” concert, on 29.10.2019 at Hagia Irene curch. I was there. And yes, the audience *was* lucky! All I can say is that the atmosphere itself in that place is enough to give you goosebumps. Now add a symphonic orchestra and a choir to it. Now add all the memmories one could have with the band’s songs formed in more than 16 years... Yeah! That’s what I’m talking about :) Those lyrics “I never could tell, they never understood. We forgot all of it, the breath of Noah..Don’t come by me, you are different I am different...” mention the othering problem in humanity in an allegoric way. Not a love letter to a long lost lover. By the way, I would love to help if you’d like to have me as a lyric translator :) (comment edited for fixing some typos)

10:27 it has been 4 years since this video and I don't expect my comment to be seen by the admin, but I want to say: I think it is not about a suicide or a relationship. In our country so much things happen, I mean sociological and sometimes ideological things. Sometimes the wellred people feel they are not understood by the people and punished by government because of their thoughts. And I think this song is about this. You say, but no one understands. Big Thumbs up 👍 Normally I don‘t really like reaction videos, especially when it is about music. Most of the people are just listening to the music and give their basic opinions like „thats nice“ and move on. But your videos engage me to watch it till the end because you are doing your research, know alot about the artist and even try to educate your viewers about the music/artist. Great channel, thanks for the videos 😀
Also their another famous song named as 'Cambaz' tells that how the media guides people as they desire and show magazinish agenda which government desires.(sorry for my english)
Here are the lyrics translated for you, as always, not word-for-word, but as close as possible to it while trying to preserve the meaning and the emotions the piece conveys (to me personnaly, at least). All I have now is my suffering, no longer can keep quite about it, If I left now, how far could I go? If I stayed, would do any good? I could never speak about it, and no one ever bothered with it, Why is everyone so hostile, Why is everyone so hostile, We've forgotten it it all, the breath of the Noah, "Don't stand next to me, we are not the same anymore", All I have now is my suffering... If I left now, how far could I go? If I stayed, would do any good? I could never speak about it, and no one ever bothered with it, So you see, this is the last act, No more theatrics after that, No stage lights, no nothing, nothing, nothing, NOTHING! All I have now is my suffering... (I am suffering) All I have now is my suffering (no longer can keep quite about it) All I have now is my suffering, no longer can keep quite about it.
The album "The World is Lying", it is all about the World's problems, light is gone, no masquerade in real life, he can not hold all of those problems inside anymore. He has a problem, that he can not hold it inside anymore. No one understands him, everyone is against each other.
Hello Luke, thank you for your genuine reaction. It's a beautiful song but it is really depressing. I think it is about a person's own sorrow. The song's meaning really depends on what you're feeling at the moment. For me it is mostly about depression and for some other people like you, it is about relationships. I think this song is timeless because of that. Everyone can find a piece of themselves in this song, everyone suffers from something after all. Have you ever listened Elfida by Haluk Levent? If you haven't you should give it a chance, I think you'll like it. Elfida is a girl's name that means a woman who has been given up or sacrificed. It was written for a 8 year old girl with terminal ilness. It's a sad song again but I haven't heard of anyone who doesn't like it.
Well, it's actually a kind of elegy towards the loss of humanitarian emotions that have been long forgotten.. it's like expressing the devastation about what happened to the world recently. - has nothing to the with love relationship whatsoever. btw, i like how you feel every bit of effort and aesthetics within the song & performance. great job! You should listen to 'uyan' from mor ve ötesi which has also a great tone and specracular scoring! cheers mate!
dude Im gonna give u really really bir trick. All Turkish songs are about LOVE or BREAK UP. Mostly Pentagram and Hayko Cepkin and Mor ve Otesi (present) are using different subjects and old skull rock musicians (Barış Manço, Cem Karaca, Moğollar etc) were using different subjects (against politics, nature, worlds problems, religions, mostly humanity etc)
Hey Luke, when I watch your Turkish rock reactions, I feel like my mind is blowing, cause I can see the feeling in your eyes and I feel the same. It reminds me how I love and sang those songs and lost myself when I was a teenager. Thank you for these reaction videos. If you can react Kurban-Yine (but I recommend video clip version) I will be happy.
Hi Luke, Have you ever listen Tarkan? He is so popular in turkey. Specially his old songs are so accomplished. Here is some of them: Kış Güneşi Ölürüm Sana Kır Zincirlerini Just listen.
I never thought of the lyrics to have a suicidal meaning but after hearing your interpretation it definitely makes sense. I just thought the song was about some dude having a problem like itchy balls or something
@@KingdomOfLuke 😂😂 i guess i will be killed by some feminists . But it is true , we listen these after breaking up but being betrayed. Btw clip was also interesting i wish you watched. Neden bu kadar saçma şarkıları öneriyorsunuz adam Barış Manço dinleyince bile daha etkilendi onları beğenecek mi sanıyorsunuz o kadar şarkılarımızı niçin de bunlara mı kaldık
you can also read the lyrics from a more collective point of view that refers to polarization in the country/world. "What does it matter if I stay or leave" may also mean either staying or leaving the country/or even life. Noah refers to the collective destiny we shared/share as humanity. And then after this line, he says "don't come near me, you and are different" as an echo of that polarization. "They" here also refers to politicians and radicalized communities or polarized population. Mor ve Ötesi has always been outspoken about social justice. That was also one of the reasons they were very popular. Basically, he can't stay silent anymore, he has a problem, he is desperate since there seems nothing he can do as only one person. he calls out to say this is all of us that have this problem together. at least, that's how I took it since I first listened to it when I was a college student. But all the lyrics have many layers of meanings :)

There is no light, there is nothing here. Nothing nothing nothing
I hope you can understand after me I know it is silly translate but ı try. By Keskin
Thank you !! 😁👍
Big Thumbs up 👍
Normally I don‘t really like reaction videos, especially when it is about music. Most of the people are just listening to the music and give their basic opinions like „thats nice“ and move on. But your videos engage me to watch it till the end because you are doing your research, know alot about the artist and even try to educate your viewers about the music/artist.
Great channel, thanks for the videos 😀
bu adamın kamera karşısındaki rahatlığına hayranım :D
oh man I love your reactions. I have just discovered your channel. Now it has been the 6th video I clicked one after another :))
Thank you 👍😁
Also their another famous song named as 'Cambaz' tells that how the media guides people as they desire and show magazinish agenda which government desires.(sorry for my english)
Harunun Sesine Her Daim Hayran Oldum Canlı Performanslarda Bile Sesinin Gücünü Gösteriyor :'))
Here are the lyrics translated for you, as always, not word-for-word, but as close as possible to it while trying to preserve the meaning and the emotions the piece conveys (to me personnaly, at least).
All I have now is my suffering, no longer can keep quite about it,
If I left now, how far could I go?
If I stayed, would do any good?
I could never speak about it, and no one ever bothered with it,
Why is everyone so hostile,
Why is everyone so hostile,
We've forgotten it it all, the breath of the Noah,
"Don't stand next to me, we are not the same anymore",
All I have now is my suffering...
If I left now, how far could I go?
If I stayed, would do any good?
I could never speak about it, and no one ever bothered with it,
So you see, this is the last act,
No more theatrics after that,
No stage lights, no nothing, nothing, nothing, NOTHING!
All I have now is my suffering... (I am suffering)
All I have now is my suffering (no longer can keep quite about it)
All I have now is my suffering, no longer can keep quite about it.
İstanbul'un en muhteşem tarihi alanlarından Yere Batan Sarnıcı. Bizans'tan kalan bir değerdir. konserin verildiği er.
Not Harun’s best performance I should say. And now I gotta go listen to Muse after a decade. :) I used to adore them.
Hey! I’ve always told my friends that Mor ve Ötesi is like Muse. You’re the first person saying this!!! Congrats
I think it's time to ckeck Şebnem Ferah's 2007 March İstanbul Concer . This performance was fascinating.
That’s amazing to see a foreign UA-camr to appreciate Turkish music. Love ya keep goin’
The comments are great. I think Cem Karaca - Deniz Üstü Köpürür you should listen.
The album "The World is Lying", it is all about the World's problems, light is gone, no masquerade in real life, he can not hold all of those problems inside anymore. He has a problem, that he can not hold it inside anymore. No one understands him, everyone is against each other.
If you want more Sebnem Ferah, you should listen to Hoşçakal. Also I love your reactions so much ❤️ 🇹🇷🇹🇷
you're perfect and so friendly. really nice to see you... 👍👍👏💖
UA-cam aleminin en rahat adamlarından biri olabilir bu da çok güzel bişey bu adamı bu yüzden seviyorum başarılarr
Not exactly " problem"...i think the meaning of song is deeper or depressing..just like trouble ,pain ,suffering ,worry 😊
Harun TEKİn ve herkes muhteşemdi 🇹🇷💖👏👏💐🌹
Mor ve ötesi deli eurovision
Sarkilara hazirlikli gelmesi ve onlari yasamasi cok iyi yaa abone oldum 😁✨
Tarkan-Kuzu Kuzu
Megastar Tarkan is an artist known as the Turkey
Im watching your videos, always! I like your reactions dear, you are so funny! Love from turkey 🌹
Senin bütün videolarını izledim, gerçekten türk şarkılarını hangi türden olursa olsun güzel yorumluyorsun, çok tatlı sevimlisin seni seviyorum 🤗
Yavuz Çetin - Cherokee (Blue Blues Band)
That song from turkish blues guitarist Yavuz ÇETİN (RİP) was time is best guitarist in turkey.
Barış Manço- kara sevda
Haluk Levent- elfida
Cem Karaca- tamirci çırağı
Zerrin Özer- her şey seninle güzel
Athena - For Real
i was in this concert and it was the best thing in this universe
Seksendört - ölürüm hasretinle, you really should listen to this! It’s a masterpiece
Not a game, the metaphor is a play.
There are no more spotlights, no more acts. Meaning we're at the final act.
You should react to "Uyan" from mor ve ötesi either. It has a great story and a clip
Mor ve Ötesi - Deli Eurovision
dude Im gonna give u really really bir trick.
Barış Manço "Kara Sevda" Japan live performence👍🤘🤟🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Cem Karaca (or Haramiler) : DADALOĞLU
Üç Hürel (or Haluk Levent) : SEVENLER AĞLARMIŞ
Mazhar Fuat Özkan : AH BU BEN
Mazhar Fuat Özkan : BAZEN
Şebnem Ferah (10.03.2007 Concert) : ÇAKIL TAŞLARI
Wish you watch the original clip. Not bad but also not good as original :)
Hi Luke,
Have you ever listen Tarkan? He is so popular in turkey. Specially his old songs are so accomplished. Here is some of them:
Kış Güneşi
Ölürüm Sana
Kır Zincirlerini
Just listen.
ölürüm sana first
And I love you Luke. Come to Turkey. Let's taste our delicious dishes after our music. 💋🤤🤤
Love your videos
Wooww 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Are you serioussssss? This is my favorite song in the world
Aferin Luka duygulu adamsın sevdim seni yeğenim
I never thought of the lyrics to have a suicidal meaning but after hearing your interpretation it definitely makes sense. I just thought the song was about some dude having a problem like itchy balls or something
No he just had a problem with some traitor women's itchy something
@@ferhatkaya9217 these comments 😂😂
@@KingdomOfLuke 😂😂 i guess i will be killed by some feminists . But it is true , we listen these after breaking up but being betrayed. Btw clip was also interesting i wish you watched. And please dont react mew teenager's rap advices some raps even i dont know their name they re not even celebrity. Please react singers like that qualified singers. İ advice Tarkan as begining
Thank you for this reaction bro 👌
BEST UA-camR
you can also read the lyrics from a more collective point of view that refers to polarization in the country/world.
