Pure masterpiece. This whole album sounds like it was recorded on a completely different planet.
Perfect way to describe it
agreed..this album is magical...not of this world
20/20 Damn this reminds me of my 15 year album around fur, adrenaline etc. now 36 and still going strong
Yeah, man. You got it. This the one👀
Especially on 🍄🍄 and that album art goes hard af. Deftones for life bro
the plunge into the chorus is just so fucking aural and liberating almost in my opinion
i letttttt you pretend..but u knowwwww the truth is that...
@@lilikaramirez1848 I LOOOOOVE You To DEEEEEEATH….Like you LOOVE THIS GAAAAME!!!!
literally sounds like an orgasm
You can tell Stephen wrote this one because it’s just riff city all the way through. It’s constantly careening from brutal 7/4 time signature onslaughts to beautiful, swooning choruses with Chino just belting it out. Classic Tones.
Definitelty the best song on the album. Fuckin hyper and tough as hell. But still that signature melodic Deftones.
+Tom Guerrero What about Tempest? Swerve City and Leathers are just as good.
axebox What about em? It's a matter of opinion homie.
Rosemary too
Entombed was excellent. 🔥
I can stare at this album cover for hours on end.
me too, I wanna trip at look at it!
It's trippy....and it makes u think about stuff
I see & imagine different scenes each time...depends on the song
It looks like my front porch on DMT.
codex to the universe
Dear Deftones,
Thank you for not doing this list of things:
1) Stopping
2) Compromising
3) Adding too much water, thus inhibiting growth
4) Listening to dissent
I want you to know you've been a giant, fundamental influence in my taste in music. On all levels.
----SINCE I STARTED LISTENING TO MUSIC. AKA after hearing deftones for the first time
No lo van a leer w

Best band of all time, i remember the first day i listened to them my manager at work gave me a blank cd and said check this band out u might like them. Took it home popped it in and i was like W T F is this. My fucking soul came out of my body, ive seen them ten times in concert now and they are part of my life forever
what particular album was it?
What was the first song you heard?
god bless you
Couldn't have said it better
God bless that manager
that rythm that riff masterpiece
omg you support liverpool and you like deftones, you know, we can be best friends XD
What a track. Fucking so heavy. Deftones have just got it nailed.
Deftones are perfection.
So far this is the most memorable track on the entire new album.
That riff is just so CATCHY.
Quite possibly the most badass song ever made.
Listen engine 09 or korea
I just said that the other day...listen to that verse!!
Got to be my favourite Deftones song, it's got everything I like about them: lyrics that are close to my heart, a cool groove with an interesting rhythm, a truly epic vocal performance and absolutely beastly riffs that are positively soaring. Magnificent.
+hyperdeath84 awesome description.
+hyperdeath84 The riff kinda reminds me of Meshuggah but the song definitely sounds like Deftones, overall it's also one of my favourites
Those riffs are so beast... as per usual Deftones slays
this song goes hard as fuck but it also pulls at my heart strings when he says the truth is that i love you to death
That's Deftones summed up in a nutshell
Such a good album.
TOTAL BADASS SONG!! I can't stop repeating this song.
I think this is my favourite song from this album. I love the chorus and the odd time signature of the riff
this song is so amazing
HOLY TIME SIGNATURE CHANGES BATMAN!
Brilliant comment!
So fucking good with their casual odd time signatures. This one's in 7/8 and Palms' Future Warrior is in 5/8. Mostly. lol
Close to my favorite on the album. Love the riffs and Chino's vocals are displayed best.
the chorus is mind blowing its one of the best chorus' ive heard in a long time
This might of eclipsed White Pony, and that has been one of my favorite all time albums from any band...10/10
Each Deftones album is great and unique in its own right. Like Chino explains, just a snapshot of their lives. moods, etc at that time period. If each album were like the others we'd all get bored of them.
I never get tired of listening to this. The riffs are just so fucking precise in their structure. I'm still baffled that Deftones seem to only be getting better and better, unlike many other bands.
This is an album I can actually play through all the way, without skipping a track. Same goes for White Pony and Diamond Eyes. Other albums have great songs, but weird order arrangement, in my opinion.
One of my favorite deftones songs ever. So good.
Leathers, Poltergeist, and Entombed might be the best 1,2,3 punch on any album.
I agree 💯%
gauze tho
+john doe the 1st 5 songs of this album just crush it!
john doe the whole goddamned album is a 2 x 4 to the face
Also Rosemary then Swerve City and Tempest
another perfect album! they still blow me away
You can now throw every deftone album on 1 cd and listen from start to finish without skipping any song, thats how amazing these guys are!
This is such an accomplised rock song. I think the guitar, rhythm and the vocals (let alone drums, as main percussion and instrumental) all are coordinated so well and blend very smoothly to deliver this rev-hard beat of "Poltergeist," which is slowly becoming my all-time favorite Deftones song.
Badass, like all the songs on the album.
This song sent chills up my spine and made my hair stand. Amazing.
Rewind Rewind. Love it! One of my favorites of Koi No Yokan. ❤❤
Sacramento's finest
Hands down
hits me harder every single fuckinnn timeee
this songs has a bit of an Adrenaline feel to it with Chino's vocals on the chorus.
This intro reminds me so much of meshuggah, I fucking love both bands
Dolan _ tune most metal riffs down to Drop F or E and it's going to sound like meshuggah lol that's just because meshuggah are the ones that made those tunings popular
Now Poltergeist should make a movie called Deftones.
theres a band called poltergeist too, they are pretty good actually
@@adefrazf6921 I'll check them.out
keeeps me hanging tiiiiighhht
and it tells me something's riiiiight
magnificent vocal lines
madness
best song on album
I love how well this goes in to Entombed :)
Omg...drive me wild
One of the The best rock punchs never listened. Incredible. I can die now...
That's Drop E, can't sound harder than that.
C-los M I've heard a few songs which were lower than Drop E, but eventually, things just get ridiculous.
I'm aware of the existence of the 9 string guitar, too far!
Yeah listen to hell below by periphery. Pretty sure it's Drop C# and it just sounds ridiculous. A good tone/mix can only do so much.
@@blueskythinking4745 periphery is trash
its Drop E? dammit, i'm thinking its a drop D or C xD
This song gives me chills! AWESOME!!!!
Just amazing!!
I never been on Deftones concert.
I'm not saying that I could murder someone to be there but things happens..
I hope you get to some day. Its sooooooooo fucking worth it
saw them in September
j krk It would be worth it if they would actually mix their sound correctly
So that's why the live versions on UA-cam aren't that good.
of course dude shite like that happens... completely normal
one of the greatest most talented bands to ever grace the music industry. they never ever disappoint. generating something negative to say about them is almost impossible. hating on Deftones is like hating sex. if you don't like sex, then you have issues.
favorite album of 2012, favorite song of 2012, absolutely fucking flawless - their clearest and finest production ever!
Damn this song...!
It's awesome!
I wear dark sunglasses at night whilst listening to deftones. Don't bite.
Holy Shit. This is THE album. Sick!
This band never ceases to amaze, thank you for existing
Sergio's bass work on this is just ferocious :)
So good. So fucking good.
I Love Deftones. Its almost like an ambient feeling to the madness!
The Bass riff in this is so Raw and Heavy!!!!
Masters of the Hook!
The most memorable riff in the entire album.
They need to play this live again
Me and my bro saw them at the Greek theatre and it was fucking awesome chinos vocals and screams live are fucking sick if you've never seen them in concert you better do it
If only I wasn't poor, I'd go everywhere to see their concerts.. ;-;
I was at that gig. Shit was the best concert I've ever been to.
Really? I love Deftones but I've heard from several people that their live performances aren't so great...
Such an intense masterpiece this! :D ... love the heavy riffing at 1:19 especially and that ethereal chorus as well!! :)
I saw them with ghost and A7X this past sunday. deftones were on fire the whole time! this song is very good live
the bassline, my gawd!!
Those fucking chords during the pre-chorus.
Holy shit.
It cant possibly be legal to be this good
Love this song but the intro is just so sick man
This song rocks live
Wow amazing band i'm speechless.
This, entombed and tempest are my favorite of this album!
Didn't think any album would beat Around the Fur or White Pony but here it is!
No one like Around the Fur but this is so good, I really admit it!
No way but close
Def beats it. Prob their best album. Easily. And A lot of the original fans agree too. KOI is their best
goosebumps
fucking awesome beat especially driving fast !!!!
Caffeinated drum beats, angelic harmonies mixed with awesome effects, and an energy that no other band can duplicate.
Gosh I wish I could hear them live!
I let you pretend
But you know
Truth is that
I love you to death
Like you love this game.....
That part goes so hard
Great song! I just found out about this band a couple days ago. My friend's uncle is the lead singer!!
Both this song and You've Seen The Butcher have a weird count-in-7's time signature for the intro and verses, but it sounds really cool.
One of my favorite deftones songs 😍🔥 it goes so hard 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I wish there were more deftones fans where I live though 🥺
Dem riffs doe....
Repeating the Interstellar and Murph mentions Poltergeist then I remembered one of my favorite song from Koi No Yokan record goes by the same name. And here I am blasting this song🖤
deftones are one of those bands that get better and better with age
this album was like magic
My new favorite Deftones track, right above Xerces. Hard AF
Damn it, I love the Deftones! Can't get enough of them!
One of my all time favs
I can never be disappointed with Deftones. Old or new. Its amazing.
Old or old even
Ooooo, love how the start is in 7/8. thats some tasty shit
Deftones NEVER disappoint!
De las mejores canciones que se han escrito en la era moderna de Deftones
Poltergeist and Goon Squad are my favorite heavy songs from Koi No Yokan album
Contender for best DEFTONES of all time.
This song is on repeat..... Forever!
Amazing Chorus.
love this tune
Nobody brings the house down like Deftones. Still showin it how it's done. Damn good album.
Top 5 on the Album
1. Poltergeist
2. Romantic Dreams
3. Goon Squad
4. Gauze
5. Rosemary
6. Leathers
Deftones use Drop E tuning, nobody panics. Djent band uses Drop E tuning, everyone loses their minds!
That's cause Deftones actually hits more than two notes in a whole song 😂😂😂😂😂
***** Deftones use 6 strings tuned to E, C#, and C, 7 strings tuned to G# and F#, and 8 strings tuned to F# and E. But I know djent bands are much different than Deftones.
Jordan Dansereau Deftones are a major influence on djent though, probably second to Meshuggah, which is also an influence on Deftones.
ganondorfchampin Stephen Carpenter said "Meshuggah are the quantum physics of music as far as I'm concerned". I have no idea what quantum physics is, btw xD
Jordan Dansereau You really don't know what quantum physics is?
Well said! And I feel much the same. I met him in 2000 and we talked about his Bamboo Parachute spoken word cd. Dude was so sweet and all around gnarly guy.
One of my favorites on this album
