Since around halfway through the original franchise nuzlocke series, I always had the thought in the back of my mind saying "You know what would be absolutely unhinged and hilarious? If we did this again with only shiny Pokemon." and the intrusive thoughts won. So here we are, Shiny Only Season 2 baby!

Rules of the challenge:
1. All encounters must be shiny Pokemon (HM users may not be shiny but are not allowed to be used for attacking in battle)
2. Fainting = Death
3. Can only catch one Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
4. Cannot use a species of Pokemon more than once in the franchise (regional variants are considered separate)
5. No items in battle (held items okay)
6. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
7. Play on "Set" battle mode

@@truemasterex5482 Because despite being considered side-games, they have the ability to have their mons transferred to modern games because of the GBA compatability (and Gen 4's Pal Park, Gen 5's Poke Transfer Lab)

I know Meatball hates the gen 7 games, but luckily that’s a fun shiny hunt in the future with SOS chaining
Imagine if he did the shiny 1% lvl 10 Salamence? That would be an amazing shiny to plow through the game
I have attempted SOS chaining, and I have so far not managed more than 2 calls per encounter. Remind me, does the chain keep going if I kill the original?
@@TheDanishGuyReviews you can use an adrenaline orb that makes the encounter call more allies out.

I feel like the three types of trainers are
1) no shinies whatsoever
2) one or two shinies they found randomly
3) a full shiny team from hours of hunting

I've been able to shiny hunt in the original Crystal Cartridge thanks to my brother soldering in a new battery. Unfortunately, I don't have the right equipment for recording the Shiny Hunt. So old fashioned holding the tablet in my one hand and playing the game with my other hand seems to be the way to go for now. I'm so excited. The nostalgia is calling. I love watching the shiny hunting challenges as I do my own hunts.
Fire Red and Leaf Green are some of the most nostalgic games for me especially when I was younger and I had no idea u could travel further to the Sevii Islands that was one of the best parts of the game for me

You may be paying somebody to do the banner editing, but clearly not enough. The level cap is wrong for both the post game sections, and for many of the sections, the team composition is wrong.
What emulator and stuff does he use? Ive been thinking about at least playing these games casually for awhile but idk how to set it up on pc

the game has trading but I do have to say he is using pkhex to speedup the trading process so he doesn't need to catch a Pokémon to sacrifice for trading
also he dose not fight with the trade pokémon its just there for the encouter via the field move

Absolutely lost me as soon as this went from hunting to RNG manips. And $25 super chat just to name a Pokémon? Yikes...
Rng manipulation is just there to save everyone time. If you don't like it you can always simply not watch the video.

probably won’t be around for the rest of the series, but i don’t love it either. at least it means these vids come out taster.

@@potatoqueen5248 I didn't watch it as soon as he mentioned he started using it, but that wasn't until 3 shinies in and several minutes. I'm allowed to voice the criticism that RNG manipulation is why I stopped.
I wanna give credit, was nice to see the hunts for the first 3. That's the point of a Shiny challenge - actually hunting them. RNG manip takes time and effort, I can concese that, but it just makes it a regular Pokémon playthrough where you're predetermining the outcome, rather than the surprise of what you get. RNG manips are lame for a series like this.

I see why you would think that but he basically switches the shiny hunt method from time to skill and i think that should be respected
Hitting two frames and having to find out what you have hit is difficult on its own and is overall way more interesting than soft reset hunting for me
I know how to RNG manipulate myself but I choose not to do it cause it rips the value out of finding/hunting shinies.
The sole purpose of going for shiny only is for it to be legit, it’s meant to be a long hunt and can only be quicker if you’re lucky. Watching someone get a guaranteed shiny gets boring
And with a username like that your opinion isn’t really relevant to what I think but can assure you that more people who like/do shiny hunting will agree with my point.
