One of the Best White Belt Takedowns to Learn

  • This has always been one of the first takedowns I will show any white belt. It works incredibly well. The takedown is completely dependent upon your snapdown.
You are waiting for them to posture up and then you go. This takedown is great for the white belt level and a lot of my students have hit this takedown in competition.
If they don’t react to the snap down it is easy to just snap them into the turtle than take the back.
You don’t always have to do a double leg ether. This is the perfect setup for many other takedowns as well.
    P.S. no liabilities

Yo Chad! Thanks for all ur videos. I've been working on my triangles for a few months now and, in big part to your triangle assault dvd, I've made great progress. I'm catching a lot of people and locking it in way tighter. So thank you!
But, I got a serious liability, man. Sometimes when I lock it in fully people sit back on their ass and put their feet in my armpits or somewhere like that and push away, stretching me out, making it super hard to hold on to the triangle, and even more so to choke them out! Could u make a video about how to prevent /counter this type of triangle escape? I'm tall and lanky like u. Thanks a bunch, Mr. Beast.

Polar Bearon great question! I will be in Nashville next week than I will record this for you when I’m back home!🤙 for a short answer solution if I can get straight to the under hook it eliminates that escape. The closer you you crunch your body in the harder it is for them to do this. I will work on that video for you✊

Or you know... Just a low single or a high crotch, the two easiest things in the world to do on a mat.. This is a nice set up though! It's basically the exact same thing as a wrestler's pummel (but hurts a lot less). Not sure if slamming the opponents neck with your forearm is legal in IBJJF, but it should be... It's legal in highschool wrestling, which is known for its pussified rules.

Break grips, fast. Don't let them control your collar/neck.

Now do a video on how to counter it because literally every single white belt that walks through the door is doing this cuz every BJJ channel has a video on it
