The case is under $100.
Usually when people do those build, the whole board cost $300-$600. With the case itself being $200+
For example, Hipyo recommend and use several time the Idobao V2 case which by itself (no pcb, caps and all that stuff) cost $200

@@grqfes not all bullets. Plus most gun bullet cartridges are definitely not gold.
@@frozeneku I think it's more meant to resemble Ocarina of Time's matte gold N64 cartridge rather than the shiney original NES one

I bought the Cartridge Gold back in February because it was the only colour left in stock at the time. I thought if I didn't like it, I could simply repaint it, but once I had it in my hands and built my board , it REALLY grew on me! Glad you ended up liking yours too, but I also have to agree with you, this being my first 65% board, I think next time I will look for one with a blocker for the arrow keys.

I think you should definitely do a KTT Rose switch review, I bought, lubed, and filmed them and they sound amazing, pretty thocky on a budget Also you should check out the new Akko switches which are also made by KTT.

Hipyo’s videos have the best sound test because unlike all the other 130+ WPM key board GODS I sit around 80-90 like Hipyo :D

I got the NK65 Milkshake Edition and I'm super pleased with it. sounds great and it's super cute for the price.
Full review on the switches would be nice. From what I've seen, they sound really good for how cheap they are. Also they look tasty which is always a plus.
It sounds far better than I thought it would. Love it when keyboards are really thocky.
I have some same MA profile keycaps and it makes everything sound thocktacular. I'd try some normal cherry thick walled double shot ones next.
Somehow managed to buy this ... but it was the group buy for the super user edition which arrives sometime in Q4 😭. This is gonna be my first keyboard I’m building myself, really looking forward to it.
Damn Hipyo, your editing is getting better and better.. appart from earasing 1/2 of your footage.. but honestly that is why I keep comming back!

It took me a while to figure out the macros in VIA lol. Once you do though it’s super useful for productivity stuff, like if there are functions you frequently use under secondary/tertiary/ quaternary menus, you can set macros to have those at the press of a button instead of two or three mouse hovers away. Also, is a shortcut really a shortcut if it takes three buttons? I would argue not really lol.

1st day learning about boards. I really like the sound of these Rose keys. I also like these caps a lot. What other board shells would fit these switches and caps?
i know this is 4 months late bu any roses can fit into any plate but some boards are only outemu hotswap which cannot fit the roses

Currently using this board with lubed and filmed C3 TK.C Dragonfruits, and everglide panda stabs. The gold is spot on with the zelda vibes and I love it!!!

nice vid, hipyo! xht-bdz is better applied with a brush vs dipping it in. applying it in layers in succession has been the way I've done it and it's been pretty nice

Been wanting to get into custom keyboards for a while. Definitely saving up for this and some tangerines. Not sure on the keycaps yet tho cos ima get the banana version. Still deciding. Thinking maybe orange or maybe yellow. Possibley all white. Idk yet. But im saving up!

tbh plate mount stabs are the easiest to tune since you don’t have to take the whole thing apart just to redo the stabs

Howdy Hey! Just grabbed one of these nk65 Olivia used. Still sounds great but I agree the stabs need lubing and will try to purchase the ones you mentioned in video. Thanks for the in depth review and breakdown. Would you recommend stupid fish foam on this or tape mod? Thanks Hipyotech!

I got the NK65 Entry in the blumen color, and I honestly do not like it. I think I expected more due to all the high praise of the board, but at least it's pretty. Definitely staying up as a shelf piece.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't find it to be very deep. It could be the NK Silk Yellows I'm using, but I'm definitely not near a "thock" with this.

Great content dude. I'm pretty new to DIY / modded keyboards. I recently purchased a wireless mechanical with modular red Outemu switches. Is it possible to lube these switches? Should I just start with a new board? Any good DIY wireless options? Cheers!
not sure if it's too late. It is possible to lube the Outemus but I'd rather you swap switches tbh

Did you ever try using the nk65 without the the tray mount screws ? Might make the plate less stiff but im a bit afraid to do that with mine so i wana know if anyone s tried to do it before

im new at this, just starting with changing keys and trying to Lube the stabs of my pre-built boards. my question is would these key-caps work with an Anne Pro 2?

Can you do a review on the BM65RGB? Very similar to the NK65 but costs $60 for the identical kit. It has North facing switches, but makes up with screw in stabs.
And via/qmk compatibility. Oh and there's now an aluminium case for the BM68RGB, which has the right ctrl key instead of the blocker.
