    • @wetlifesports
      @wetlifesports  Місяць тому

      @@cindyrayson2835 not sure what you mean? Your oven is stuck? Your trying to get the rubber strip out? To pull out the oven you can pull out the lower drawer and set it aside and then grip it under there. Maybe you can also see if your feet are stuck behind the flooring or something. Then you'll need to lift and pull. You can try pulling on the door but test it slowly too see if the door is strong enough. I'd be cautious of that. If door is open palm it on the ceiling of the oven and lift and pull. Gl

    Thank you for that! I had a slide in gas stove for 30 years. That inevitable day came, and I had to buy a new gas stove (screw the appliance police). I asked, what's the difference between a slide in and a free standing, other than the finished sides. No difference, they said. Wrong! Huge difference! The slide in is made to 'seamlessly' slide in, flush with the counter. The free standing has a rolled edge and no finished gap filler. Contemporary gas stoves, all, have those ugly grates that sit well above the countertop. Looks like a danged outdoor grill, awful. I got the gap fillers. Tacky, tacky, tacky! The counter has a rolled edge, so even more tacky. I don't think the gap filler is as pliable as the one you used in your video, but I'll find some. My stove and counters are white, so less forgiving of ugly make-do efforts. I see how you fit the filler in at the front, that is also very helpful. I was struggling with trying to make the squared corner stove marrying into the rolled edge counter. My amazing contractor tells me that I fuss about details that most people ignore. I suspect he's thinking about the new countertop project. I'm going to show him what you did!

    The whole point is not having to collect crumbs from between the stove and the counter and you demonstrated that small particles still fall in the crack that still exists even when you shove the silicone strip between the two. This is not a solution for me.

    • @wetlifesports
      @wetlifesports  Рік тому +1

      Yes but you don't lose the crumbs into the crack and invite critters. There are very few perfect solutions, actually I've not heard of any. Sometimes you just make improvements. Maybe caulk it with a color match caulk that you can make perfectly smooth and then you'll just have to redo if and when you need to remove the stove?
