This is amazing to watch Dr peterson develope his ideas and speech over the years. I love these early lectures I've listen to them all. He is amazing. His ideas have inspired me in my life and indeed has made me braver and I now stand on firmer ground. Ty Jordan b peterson
31:52 *the girl asks* : how do you go from the pathological individual to the pathological state?
*Peterson* : _...your personal response to anomalous information, determines, in a way that's not trivial, the entire course of your culture_
He obsessed over ideas that led him to that conclusion. Damn thats interesting.
Late reply, sorry. I think it was Jon Haidt's work (which I think became in 1995) that proved that authoritarian states are driven by the individuals and their relative level of disgust sensitivity, which actually proves Jordan very much correct in general.
"The monsters you encounter are exactly your size"
41:54 you're welcome
The termination of narrowly framed identity labeling, when referencing an individual based upon group, requires meaning to be removed from labels. If the whole of an individual is greater than the sum of his or her parts, then the individual is free from the boundaries which society would box them into based upon a group. Any attempts to specifically frame the person would be met with contradictory inaccuracies, thereby decreasing the meaning of the label. The more the label is used to describe different individuals, the more the inaccuracies become apparent, further decreasing the meaning of the label.
If the aforementioned is true, then there is a component of identity labeling which is inherently self-destructive. The more you try to box an individual in, the more the structural framework of the label losses its integrity.
I don't think that I'm of Harvard graduate level intelligence.
This is excellent!
Yes.
Kurt Cobain always has some good insights
😂 i've been thinking the same thing
And Jerry Seinfeld enjoys talking to him.
Through out these lectures it is explicitely stated that even though all these can be any sex regardless of roles being associated with a given gender and yet the women in the class over the last few lectures attempted and succeeded here to drag it into Male vs Female which contravenes what was stated and shows to me that there is something in them that seems to desire to make it about themselves.
perhaps repeated exposure to what was initially unknown (fear inducing) with a prepared mental state (eliminating the affective response?) and goal (to overcome the fear) is what makes the initial exposure different to the planned exposure. They aren't the same experience! oops 11:11 kind of says the above.
The students in this room are all astonishingly intellectual.
Sad part is that now days is exacly opposite of what you say.
“Jung said sexuality in mythology was symbolic.
Freud said symbolism in mythology was sexual.”
1:42:00 I wonder if kids born during shutdowns and fathers working at home a lot more will show that the mother contributes as high a percentage of socialization…
I love these lectures. ❤️
I only wish that the student who typed notes constantly would not have chosen to sit right beside the videographer. So annoying.
These are highly intelligent students. Why didn’t he connect the dots?
Can anyone make out the up and down diagram where empiricism is debated?
They’re in his book maps of meaning
Where to find more info on incentive reward and consumatory reward please.

Reparations for witches is coming.
Awesome
Seriously guys, what's with maps and meaning anyway?
Is there anywhere to see these diagrams?
@@MrBerfayHunalp this comment section is amazing, cheers mate.
I believe they are in the Maps of Meaning book.
yeah man where are they?
It's only interesting to people who have not attended advanced psychology lectures. This is a concept-juggling exercise intended to impress. Unfortunately, the students have to pass mundane exams.
this is my day-10
Does anybody know if these diagrams can be found somewhere? I can't read the representation of the group identification one.
Sebastian Helm I haven't visit his website but if you could find the exact thing it could be there.
The Maps of Meaning book. You can find it on PDF on his website.
hell yeah Huītzilōpōchtli! creating a song about hummingbirds now be out on the Channel Diazhol666! soon! I always love that legend that men who die in combat and woman who die in child labor are the ones who visit him and are reborn as humming birds, captivating correlation! and an amazing animal to compare them to as it's wings so rapid, it is the embodiment of the impossible labor, and it's life is filled with beauty and colors of flowers and taste of nectar
Dang, professor Peterson. You leaving these students on the left out to dry! They be raising their hands for ages!
Oh, nevermind. He gets to them, too!
Edward Arnold those damn students are too dedicated that they kept there hands raised even though Dr. Peterson was too busy thinking then explaining what he came up for an answer.
