Respect Wikidub. I was on the spot in '81 listening to the great Tony Williams RIP. Best voice in radio London and NY. Listening back to this now, thinking of Robbie Vincent, Greg Edwards, Rodigan, Froggy, Ranking Miss P, DBC ruling London and the world! Good days. So good to find these tapes of yours on yt. I lost all mine in a fire.
Saturday morning excitement but not before my brother's and sister would have to clean our home for our parents; then relax on Sunday and look forward to rice n peas, and desert with Tony Williams RIP

My music weekend in the late 70’s : Friday’s Radio Medway - Tony Monson Saturday morning / lunchtime : Robbie Vincent (Radio London) Saturday night : Capitol : Greg Edwards Sunday’s : Tony Williams / David Rodigan (Radio London)
I remember the show going out 1pm-3pm, but that was a little later on. Then in the summer of 1985, Tony had a show on Friday nights, 10pm - 12am (I suppose it was a ploy to get one over on his rival on Capital Saturday nights!). Great memories. Forgot that Victor Romero Evans' "At The Club" was No1 on the UK Reggae Charts!!
looking to find a song i havent heard for over 30 years - used to be on a tony williams tape i think or reggaee rockers maybe - lyrics something like this ??? "you wanna lock the door, throw away the key coz thats a whats a stopping you from loving me - well whatever if you want shall me get.. whatever if you want shall me ge-e-e-t" any ideas anyone? also dubplate saying something like crips biscuit - rivit? I was only around 10 at the time so vague memories but my stepdad used to listen every sunday to reggaee in Southend on Sea, Essex.
wikidub can you or anyone else please tell me the name of this song and also the artist? the lyrics go like this, "There's no use trying to understand if broken hearts can send(don't you know) there's no ifs buts when or where just nature's plan. cause it's all, all a part of love. when we fall in and out of love." Please help me I heard it for the first time last night and can't get it out of my head. I even recorded it on my phone. The song has a rockers feel to it.
TW used to have a clip of Barrington DJing singjay style that he sometimes used to open the show (I had a tape of it once upon a time) Any chance you have it on tape too?
heya dont spose you have the tape of the first reggae rockers show of the 80`s.?.i do but occidentally taped over one particular song and been trying to find it now for over 30years lol
david k hi it was Tony 's 1st show of the 80's and the lyrics of the tune trying to find "me no want no more susu susu" the singer had a very gentle voice?
