Also of interest is the fact that one of the cuts of Moulding run by Quaker was actually mixed by Shaka at Island studios.. circa 1979 … but he is a humble man and was never gonna say anything about that 👊🏼
Murderous session. Give thanks Colin🙏 I t can’t possibly be ‘78 though…Shaka is running 5 man army… the very tune that was first dropped by Coxsone at Acton Town hall… 1980… Gold Cup dance… Coxsone took the cup that night but for those of us in attendance it shoulda hand to Shaka by popular demand … he mashed up the place with Gussie/Gun smoke dubs to Mr Bossman and Give I the power -Johnny Clarke…. but it was a fix up, Rodigan/ Count Shelley/ Steve Barnard were the judges and give cup to Coxsone, causing major ruction amongst the crowd. Wildest dance I have ever experienced… legs and locks flying all round the hall when Shaka unleashed Gussies warrior mix of Mr Bossman… a separate piece only Shaka could drop!! Keep up the righteous runnings Colin… some rare sessions deh pon the I’s channel.
Hail Iyah. Yes I overstand the comment. Please overs that some of these tapes I have are over 40 years old so the writings on the cassette are well faded and molded off. So forgive if I don't have exact date and time. Plus my eyes are not as they once were. Lol. But it did look like a 7 so I assumed 78 or 79 during December 27. And you right about 5 man army as I was there in attendance also. Which I also secretly recorded. I will take this dance as a late 79 dance then Iyah. Give thanks for the unfull input.
Yes King… give thanks for the I’s response. Fully overstand weh yuh seh regarding the passage of time and so forth… in no way was this a criticism… I fulljoy the I’s works in sharing these important pieces of history from the golden period of uk sound system. Incredible archive you have on your channel…for real !! and yes, that 1980 session at Acton Hall… so ram Fat-man couldn’t get him sound into the hall and thus didn’t string up that night… it was mayhem!! Road block outside, 207 buses stuck on the Uxbridge Road, both sides, passengers staring out wondering what was going on… for true, only those who were there really know how unique this night was… when giants trod the land !! You have to unleash that recording gena… please and thanks 🙏
Im thinking this through King… and my personal conclusion is that this session is late ‘80….. Gold cup dance was May 1980 if my memory is true…. no sound had access to 5 man army before Lloydie … that’s a fact…and he had a unique cut with loads of studio chatter at the intro… so this dance has to be after that…. nobody had heard this tune until that Gold cup dance… so maybe dance is 27th of a month after that dance we both attended…, mans dem coulda even been squeeze up next to each other for all we know!!😉
@@rusirani2731 this what i wanted to hear ras tell us more of thr gold cuo dances who has those tapes? Put them on youtube nearl 50 years ago come let we hear dem raster natty go deh
