Dude, this is hilarious, I just got the G4 for exactly 100 bucks off of eBay cause I always wanted one(even though I have LG's flagship phone, or one of them) I was still digging this phone, because even by today's standards, you can't beat the camera for an older phone, and it runs smooth as a babies bottom.
I own both Samsung's S8 and two G4s (H815 and 818P). Hands down both have amazing cameras and I was absolutely surprised that the G4 sports the same nightlight feature the S8 has.
today in October 2020 the LG G4 (H818p, international dualSIM version) is still MY DAILY DRIVER and i really would like to urge phone manufacturers to STOP DROPPING IMPORTANT FEATURES. Here are the reasons why the lg g4 still stands out for me. (1) removable battery - Let us face it -- in typical everyday use, most Li-Ion batterys will wear out after 2 years and sometimes even earlier. So i still enjoy simply buying a new battery for $15 or so and just pop it into the phone. Also i sometimes carry 80% charged spare batteries around bith me and consider this more efficient than power banks. (2) dualSIM + DEDICATED SD slot - yes, and i only use the SD card for fotos / videos. And when at home at the pc, i pull out the sd card, stick it into the computers cardreader and copy all my fotos and videos. This is MORE SAFE than using a cable to connect the phone, because there are often cache problems thus the file managers don't always see all files... (3) MHL HDMI support!! When in any hotel room, i simply can connect my G4 to any old televison set with the simplest of MHL adapter. Most modern flagships LACK THIS IMPORTANT FEATURE making it hard to connect an android phone to a TV. (4) talking about TV: the IR blaster (infrared sending diode) which is also missing on many modern flagships. i often used this e.g. to turn volume down in a hospital or hotel lobby etc. (5) camera is still very good especially due to its PRO mode features like long exposure (up to 30 seconds) also a feature many expensive modern fons miss. (5) still good display and sensible resolution (qhd) 1440x2560. (6) firmware well implemented, hardly any bugs. Connectivity IS VERY GOOD and switching between 3G and 4G modes works fluently. Call quality and overall sound is GOOD. This surely is not the case with all phones. (7) and ofcourse the 3,5mm jack which i use alot and quality is still good (no crackling and clipping when plugging in a headphone) (8) all state of the art connectivity features including miracast, android beam, NFC, BT including audio, WiFi also with 802.11.A (5 GHz band) also fm radio. The phone really is a charm and i hate to see that many of these so important everyday features are discontinued. i detest the phone manufacturers for this.
Hey what up i just got me the lg g4 sprint version. The reason why i got this phone because of the camera and the stabilization it has in the phone. I did also got me a knock off action cam of a go pro look a like but it does not have stabilization which is why i went with lg g4. I traded my zte zmax pro as well the nokia 3.1 all dont have removable battery which is all good. The lg g4 seem to me so far in awesome shape and no issue yet. The reason i got the sprint version because i am going to used it with text now is a free phone carrier. Finally what i love about the lg g4 it has nfc that allow me to used to pay with my phone. Which none of my phone i had before has them .
I was using lg g4 for more than 2.5 years and the only reason i bought it was for its camera, it was just awesome.. i didnt find anything phone with similar camera except lg g7 plus thinq
I just found my LG G4 and for some reason the battery is missing 🤦🏽♀️. I had a G3 prior, but I'm pretty sure it was the G4 that had the bootloop issue. I loved my G4 and I'm willing to buy another battery for it, even if I only use it as a spare (it really was a great phone). But....the bootloop 😅. Can that be fixed? I just want to be sure before I get the battery.
The bootloop sadly cannot be fixed short of buying a new mobo. You can prevent it by getting a 6xx serial G4 mobo, as well as placing a very fine and small copper shim + thermal pad to aid the cooling of the CPU.
Bruh ive had it for over 2 years and im just now seeing this i tought my phone was considered the worst but ive actually found that with some optimizations and a bit of tweaking has made it pretty good the only thing is my battery is pretty old so it drains fast but i think thats just the battery nothing else. So overall the lg g4 is a really good phone especially for its price. Hahahaha back in 2013 i bet you could get a flip phone for the same price lol
@@AndroidTech its really good its just the data doesn't work on it that ls why my step dad gave it to me but its works really good exactly like a phone would these days
Hey bro good point so far my lg g4 does not have the boot loop yet. Even if it does in the near feature lg will repair it for free only thing you require is to pay for shipping and they will ship it back to u
Still using LG G4 in 2021😋
I like your review about the LG G4, and am planning to get it.
Same
Don't over heat it
Dont it will bootloop eventually because of hardware issues

THERE THROTTLING EVERYTHING AND MAKING US PAY MORE FOR LESS
Good job! Thanks for this review. Picked up a G4 a while back for a back up - use it as a daily driver often! Still a good day to day performer.
Any updates
I had this phone in 2016 it was pretty good
Yeah to this day it's still pretty good!

How’s the battery now?
2021..
I’m only using it for texting, calling and maybe a bit of 4g data because of telegram.
I liked my old lg g4, but it had the boot loop problem. And it never got the Android 7 update. It sat with the 6. Camera was great.
Do you still had that.. ? Can you sell it?
Dude great vid. So have you tried pubg on this device? @android tech
Unfortunately not. But I can garantee that it'll handle it no problem

No. My lg g4 very hot when use it and when notification has come it's crash

What about the camera ! Please compare it to new flagships of this year
I will stay tuned!
This phone camera is really good
Im planning on buying one amd i really like android 6.0
The Pixel size of a camera is just as important as the megapixel count in my opinion. Just saying.
True.
