Hey David, I'm a tradesperson irl and magicians can cut their own keys by hand without power tools or with a simple Dremel tool. Just get the original key and copy the shape to the new key blank with a metal file or your griding tool and cutting disc on your Dremel. Practice a few times on a key blank or a piece of scrap metal and wear glasses and a dust mask so you dont hurt yourself. Hope that helps.

    Hello David,
An informative video as always but please can you clear this query up once and for all.
I’ve seen a couple of responses to the same query but it’s still it’s not been nailed down.
Maybe it’s because the other key keeps being referred to as a switch out key rather than a duplicate. So, PLEASE once and for all can we know this.
Can the gimmicked key be freely and completely inspected after the ring is moved from the outer to the inner hole?
Forget about possible uses of the other key. What viewers including me are asking is can that same key be left with the spec with no chance of them working out the mechanism without the reset tool?
That’s all I want to know and a clear and straight answer would be much appreciated considering the cost of the product. We could all buy 2 brass keys for a couple of bucks!

It is not clear from this review whether the gimmicked key is inspectable immediately after the key ring is moved through the holes in the key. He says it is, but if so, why does it come with a separate ungimmicked key to hand out, if you can hand out the gimmicked key?

    Fantastic review and fantastic concept
    Behind the key
We end up clean at the end is the real beauty...
Do you know other magic props or tricks like Mon - Key,
Where we can completely be clean at the end and the item is examinable and the spectators have no clue whatsoever👀

Looks very similar to "Just A Key" by Joe Porper..... Just a Key is a "Schlage" key with one hole at the top (no dividers) looks like it can do similar things. I know Joe Porper makes HIGH QUALITY tricks, most are well machined and their price reflect that. Just A Key is available on Murphys Magic site and also is $100.00
Anyone interested in Mon-Key should also look at Just A Key as well as other things that Joe Porper has done to see his workmanship BEFORE you make your decision. Hope this helps.

While I personally dont have $100 to spend on a magic trick , if you know what went into it and the time, energy, brilliance that went into this and how it works you will agree it is worth it if its fits into your budget....JUST AWESOME!!!

I know this is an older video , but I’m thinking of getting this eventually. I do have a question about this video; you say you can hand it out for inspection and the spectator will never find the secret, but then you say it comes with a regular key to hand out for inspection which you choose not to carry. Is this because you find that although there is something suspicious about the look of the key that they can see, they just can’t get it to work because they can’t reset it and you feel that is sufficient to fool them? Or in your experience do the spectators never mention the “suspicious” thing that is technically detectable during inspection?

    • @magicorthodoxy
      @magicorthodoxy  2 роки тому +1

the regular key is for inspection BEFORE the trick takes place - I went back to magifest 2 years later and Jeff sold out of this again and fooled magicians with it. I've even done it on tik tok
