I love hearing him play the piano version right afterwards
He is so good!
and hearing his playing there were elements of Unforgiven...
Brain numbing isn't it! And he truly has no comprehension of how skilled he is...
me too
My late father could do that. I didn't appreciate enough, while he was still with us.
You should definitely do a full rendition of this on the piano man that sounded awesome.
I’m hoping if we get enough comments with this request, he’ll feel pressured to do it.
@@Greatmeasures DO IT!😠. JUST DO IT!😡😡
pls your rendition off this is needed in the world
how many pressures do you need? I have time, I work overnights, i'll make that many spam accounts just for that purpose!!
@@GreatmeasuresDO IT PLEASEEEEE
we need a full version of the cover he did at the end of the reaction
I agree with this
yes please!
You can’t calculate how many lives this song has saved. 🤘
Amen brother
Is he bad at math? 😁
Amen, "Crystal Ball" by Styx has also saved people from doing the unthinkable. The Power of Music!
Because there aren't any statistics on it. (eyyyy)
Yes I can, 0+0=0 😊
I’ve never needed a piano cover of any song so desperately before. Loved how that was sounding.
Sounds pretty desperate for sure
More proof how closely linked classical music is to metal!
Classical music is metal without electricity
apparently Mozart's music was so far left for its time it would of been classed as metal in todays music industry!
@@davidwright9335so far left it just became right 🙂🤩
I started playing classical guitar because I wanted to be more metal. Turns out, I like playing classical a lot more, on a nylon string.
The greatest ballad ever written.
sorry no
Sorry yes
Ballad of Lucy Jordan
The fact that he was able to replicate on piano even the lyrics points out how well written this absolute masterpiece is
That piano arrangement was beyond incredible. How did Metallica come up with such a touching and unique song at their age back then?!
Cliff probably did most of the heavy lifting
@@pvdaele I wouldn’t call it heavy lifting. Maybe just introduced some music theory to the band
In past interviews they tell you where it came from. It's a combination of James childhood and his mother and Cliff introducing classical music theory, combined with Lars classical background.
Metallica were also fans of Iron Maiden and had almost certainly heard Maiden's Children Of The Damned before they wrote Fade To Black.
teenagers.. pretty amazing.. i always every single time i listen to metallica wonder how you can create such masterpieces with such a short time period of life..
this dude turning around and just laying the whole song out on piano right after hearing it is all i ever ever hope to do gees dude!!!!
judson impersonating hetfield" YEA
later, "how do you feel about it?" YEA
"you can't do that on guitar, you know?" YEA
"might be a good one to cover" YEA yea yea
FADE TO YEA
You can just imagine a rendition of it, the song melody just begs for Judson to get to work with. And right it was, it sounds beautiful. The sorrow really becomes palpable on the piano.
the ability to just play the song hearing it once is amazing. I understand music theory and the progression of chords but to do it so quickly and so well I can not do anything but to appreciate the talent. thank you for your videos
we NEED your piano cover/interpretation of this song
My grandmother now listens to Fade to Black because of Judson...🤘🤘🤘
😂 Yes! 🤘
Almost thirty years later we have this absolute gorgeous piano rendition
40 years!
The interlude between verses is beautiful
🙂 like a work of art, pausing for a beauty nap leading into the abyss of jamming vibes, friend told me 😊
Judson’s interpretation of the piece was brilliantly done.
It always makes me smile when a musician can hear a song and just play it by ear.
It would make me smile if someone tell me why the Developer from club Vegas social casino who's cloned my 17th phone, drone surveillance, control my fm Radio and claims to be keeping me from Reilly Coyote, would fall off the face of earth so I can own the Wolfe sanctuary in Pennsylvania he obsesses on 😮
@@PeterKempkaYou should see a mental health professional, it’ll either confirm what you’re talking about or get you help that you need.
My cousin went into psychosis a little while ago and said stuff like this, his life is absolutely fucked up because of it.
Get the help you need.
Hearing it played on the piano was mesmerizing. I would love to hear you play it from start to finish. I've always loved the song, as performed by Metallica, but now I have gained an even greater appreciation for it.
What really makes someone a musician is being able to hear something and being able to play it and figure it out by ear. So amazing.
Still my number one all time fave Metallica song. Something I can just relate to. The pain and sorrow deep inside me resonates with the lyrics...
When I end it all, THIS is the song I will listen to
Don't end it all without me, this 1.5 year clone in my 17th phone, the developer from club Vegas social casino has me ready to join you. Hmu 😊
Judson did that piece justice on piano.
I see what you did there...
That song actually saved my life when i was a youngster in high school back in the 80s. I never thought back then how iconic Metallica and that song would become back then. Judson, you have an amazing ear for all types of music and I appreciate y'all showcasing your talents here and discussing music that was so important to me and my childhood. But, I do have one question... how do y'all get passed all the copyright BS?
As far as monetization goes, we don’t get past the copyright claims. Especially with Metallica songs. I wish I had a better answer for you. They allow us to put our videos up but 99% of our videos are not monetized.
Real youtubers passion right there. Thank you!
@@jip5889don't puff yourself up too much, it's transparent af who's doing all of you tube 😊
It's one thing to hear someone talk about pain, it's another thing to hear someone who you admire talk about pain. Metallica was a constant companion for me in my early teen years. Not sure if I can say it saved my life but I'm not sure I can't either.
Judson, you don't even need to speak to analyze music, it's like you ingest it and immediately voice your interpretation through the piano keys. Amazing.
The piano version was brilliant 😮
One of Metallica's best!..nice intro!
Another great choice and phenomenal cover. The ability to translate music so quickly blows my mind. Thank you for sharing.
WE NEED A FULL COVER.
Yo that ending with the impromptu piano cover was freaking amazing!! 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
I thought I saw Mr J trying to figure out the arrangement during the song but wasn’t sure until that. You guys rock
omg the way he interpreted that on piano was beautiful !
For just a moment…
the piano playing at the end.. the ghost of Cliff was there. ❤️
Not really tho
10:20 go Judson go!! 💪
That pianoversion was amazing! ❤
I love classical music a lot and hearing metal music played via piano just brings out something completely unique and majestic. Fade to black is my favorite Metallica song, so I'd love to hear a full version!
The piano rendition was beautiful! Full cover please
The sound of the piano is just…I don’t have a word to describe it, it’s everything.
For me it makes the song sound even darker in some parts, I guess because the piano can sound so heavenly.
definitely need a piano cover from jud
Amazing cover after, i'd love to hear full covers from Judson. Amazing Artist! Greetings.
this song always make got the chills... but damn everything sounds more beatifull in a piano, i´m not gonna lie, it make tear up a little. Thank you
how talented people like this exist in the world just blows my mind, i have a friend who plays the keys and he can just pick up on anything by ear lol fun to jam with
This song saved my life multiple times during a dark lonely time in my life, will always have a special place in my heart
I wish Kirk Hammett still created lead guitar stuff like this.
He ruins the solo live now, it was such a masterpiece 😭
@@christran2484if I remember right he said he forgot the solo and doesn't want to relearn it
@@codeashpikachu760the solo isn’t even hard.
If I can play it kirk can relearn it in a day.
@@the2theonly672 if you don't mind could you give me any advice on the solo because I struggle a lot towards the end of it
He needs to release an album of him covering these songs on the piano. Let me know when I can buy it.
That Lynard Skynard piano at the start... wow that was great!
Your piano interpretations are always amazing
the piano playing at the end was a beautiful treat. tell him thank you.
that piano version was just amaizing man!!! such a warm felling !!
That impromptu take on the piano was fucking beautiful.
Wow, the piano right after the song was beautiful!
Fade to Black is my favorite song of all time and hearing it on the piano it felt like it was meant to be played on that instrument :)
You both seem to be really cool guys.
I'm waiting for the piano cover for this one from Judson.
I believe he would make in an awesome way 🔥
Interprets it in moments and his version is beautiful. This is so enjoyable.
You guys are killin it with this channel. He nailed the piano afterwards. A cover of this would be great.
Excellent choice!!i Mught be a good option for another solo piano composition
Thank you!
Found you guys just now i love how you basically showed you liked it by playing on piano i looved this
Yet another reason I'm getting close to long time subscriber status.. well done guys.. another banger recreation by Judson
Death - Voice of the Soul, if you want a killer cover from Judson; I feel it in my bones.
WOW! I alwayse loved the old Metalica stuff... guess I'm one of those "thanks for the 7 years of great music". I hope you do some complete songs with piano
This guy is awesome!! Very cool reaction approach., Mad respect to you guys
You can tell right away he is a great musician!! love your vids
Just come across your channel. As someone who loves both metal and classical ( the crossover is there....Mars, God of War and Diamondhead's "Am I Evil"), your ear for music is incredible. The reason Metallica's early albums are the best is because Cliff Burton, the dearly departed odiginal bassist, was a classically trained musician.
RESPECT!!!
You are amazing!! Thank you
I've been playing guitar for 15 years and can't do what this guy does with a piano. Watching someone hear a song and immediately work it out into a playable version on their instrument of choice still amazes me. Some people are just extra gifted lol
Never thought a song talking about encouraging Suicide could be so beautiful...that's the scary part....I know when I was down and out back in the 80s I would play this song on repeat for 3 hours at a time....eventually I learned how to play the complete song on guitar including the solo...it just hit what my soul was feeling at the time...still does
Glad you’re still around. Surviving the “down and out” times only makes us stronger.
the song its not about encouraging suicide, its simply about one of james' many depressive episodes
It's about their gear getting stolen while on tour
Encouraging is a strong word. Explaining maybe, empathetic for sure, but representing a mindset is not encouraging from my view, any more than a movie, play, or tv show does, simply but showing a point of view
Talking about "encouraging suicide" is a really bad take.
Great video gentleman. Keep up the good work.
omg I’ve been waiting for this one!!
beautiful piano!! thank you.
my favorite Metallica song and it sounded so beautiful on the piano, you got some amazing musical chops too man! 👏🏻🎹
Judso- cool 😊
😂
I used to date a Harpist a long time ago, she played a couple of Metallica songs on her Clarsach harp. She'd converted it so it had electric pickups and used to run her Metallica tracks through various guitar pedals, including a distortion pedal. It was one of 3 that she owned, including a concert pedal harp.
Very good!!! Perfect, amazing
One of the best songs of all time .POWERFULL
tears while playing the piano, Great \m/
Amazing how you can play that back so fast on the piano!
My vote for a full piano rendition! That was awesome
I am curious about your synesthesia Judsong. Do you view the actual keys when you lopok at the piano as colors or just the sounds? My wife has it and is also a musician who sees it as numbers as well which I think you mentioned in one of your previous videos. I am fascinated. Love the vid, huge Metallica fan. Also curious, how do drum hits sound to you? Are they also color?
edit: Holy crap I love your version at the end. Please release your version on your channel.
that piano playing at the end really reminded me of Manowar! Great vid
That rendition of Free Bird during the intro was mint!! 🤌🏻
Goddamn does this deserve more subscribers. I'm loving these.
Thank you
How do you know a song is great? When it evokes the same emotions you felt hearing it's radio debut almost 40 years ago.
The piano version is what the world needs right now.
Just discovered you two, i need to hear the complete piano version,it gaves me goosebumps thanks guys

@@Greatmeasures thank you guys really enjoy it
@@rascarkapak5462 thanks you! We’re glad to have you along for the ride.
Thanks!
What a great choice 🔥🔥
a cool background in it is that in the voice track you can hear the piano, james needed a guideline to sing in ballads, he never sung something in that style before
Discovered your channel lately, this made my day amazing and the cover, better Judson's version is awesome.
Metallica and Fade to Black. That same riff/turn and chord progression has popped up time and again in their work: in Unforgiven, Unforgiven II, and The Day That Never Comes.
Gorgeous piano intro ❤
Guy is good at the piano. Geezus played it right afterwards and it got pretty.
Formats like this show that there are really great compositions among rock and metal music! And it is no coincidence that, when played the french horn in my youth, most members of the brass section including me loved rock and metal! Nice reaction! Greetings from Germany 👍🤘
The way he plays on the piano is fantastic, did anyone get unforgiven vibes off it?
🤣 yass as a matter of fact that is exactly what I got 😮
I'm pretty sure "Unforgiven" has Ride the Lightning vibes and not the other way around.
Beautiful Piano like always
PLEASE REACT TO METALLICA - THE DAY THAT NEVER COMES, THIS WILL BE EPIC!!! BRAZILIAN FAN🇧🇷
Please do this one on Piano, this song was made for a piano version 🙏
Wow, chapeau master Judson ❤
From italy 👋
Just wow!!
Bold statement here, but those few seconds hearing that on piano at the end was one of the best things I've heard in a long time! DO THIS COVER!!!
When he starts playing the piano it sounds very much like Warmness on the Soul by Avenged Sevenfold.... Beautiful 😊
11:43 Damn!!
I literally made a Stankface on that part 😆
Fav album, fav song
