We hope you enjoyed exploring the incredible Palm Springs Residence by Steven Harris Architects. It's incredible to see how Steven Harris Architects has honoured the original 1956 Donald Wexler design while adding thoughtful, modern touches. This renovation truly captures the timeless elegance and open, light-filled essence of California living. We are all so fortunate that someone who deeply understands and appreciates the design of this home now owns it and has kept what makes it so wonderful, resisting the urge to "stamp" it with his own mark. There is so much that is quietly impressive about the house but what stands out to me is the siting on the plot and the wonderful landscaping, that leads the eyes from the interiors through the foreground and into the extraordinary landscape beyond. A gem of a house and excellent, informative commentary from the owner. Thank you.
Thank you for such a thoughtful comment! It’s truly special when a home finds an owner who respects its original vision. We're glad you enjoyed the tour 🙌
I had the privilege to tour this home a number of years ago. It is beyond special. Steven and his husband are deeply gracious. What a joy to get to relive a fond memory and to see the home continuing to be stewarded at a rare level of care.
Wonder house and production. The house is actually in the Tamarisk Country Club in Rancho Mirage. The CC has some wonderful mid-century modern homes along the fairways.
Yes. Poor Rancho Mirage is always called Palm Springs in international media. Palm Springs houses of the 1950s period are nearly all on the street and not set quite in the landscape like this one.
Steven Harris is the architect I look up to. His projects are always mixed with something modern and old at the same time, perfect for Mid-Century vibes. I hope that there will be videos more about his projects.
Stunning. I'm trying to find fault and I'm stumped... and I'm one of those people where my best friend said to me, "I could be wearing the most beautiful cashmere sweater and all you'd see is the little hole in the back."
AS a kid we would go to Palm Springs to visit my two aunts from Ohio who were snowbirds. We would stay in one of the old boutique hotels in old Palm Springs. I will never forget the memory of each morning looking at the stunning purple mountains with the sun shining on them with the gorgeous blue skies.....that made me fall in love with the Palm Springs area.
A really beautifully shot and edited film - congrats to the film-maker/s - and wow, someone talented and educated who appreciates architectural history and authenticity and can articulate that appreciation in words. I live nearby and can’t wait to be invited to be sitting out at 1.00am after dinner!
Wow! Can I move in, please? After he said Kandinsky, you can’t unsee it. I assume the reason, why people don’t want to leave this place, is not only this fantastic house, but also has a lot to do with the hosts.
As much as the edit is very fun, fast paced, punchy. I hope this isn’t a new direction for you guys. I really love the serene, slow, and subtle edits of videos past. This doesn’t actually give you a lot of time to really look at the architecture and design.
Give a kick to whoever edits these videos, two second clips of the house itself added to everything irrelevant that seems artistic makes the videos confusing and unwatchable. The topic is interesting, but the videos are poor
That’s why I hesitated on even clicking on the vid^ *I’m glad I’m not the only one too notice this constant disappointment from this channel* it’s like everyone in L.A are wannabe Michael Bay knockoff directors
Wielka szkoda 😢 ze autorzy filmu nie uszanowali praw Donalda Wexlera przedstawiajac autorów przeróbek jako projektantów😮 ostatniego projektu mistrza Donalda "Charney House"
If someone here in the comments could buy me this house, arrange for my green card in the USA and also get me some golf lessons that would be great thanks 👍
The big problem I’m saying is the landscaping. Everything is way overgrown. You can’t just continue to let 60-year-old plants continue to get massive. They dominate and take over and hide everything. You need to come in every 10 years and replant so that it keeps everything scaled properly In half the house, you can’t even see because they just let everything grow and grow and grow. the landscaping wasn’t meant to last forever

You’ll need to do another episode on the tribute to this home, that sits adjacent

He speaks so well - a true proud owner of something so great
This captures the essence of Palm Springs. The view of the mountains is a must if you live there. I love this home. Thank you for sharing.
This is one of the most representative stunners in Palm Springs. Thanks for sharing it! 🌴🌴🌴
As always, I’d like to see more of the home itself, not just the same clips over and over.
Floor plan would be nice too
Then you'd see how bland and uninspired it is.
@@nikolaninkov maybe that’s it.
I just wanted to see his husband.
Need a new videographer/ editor
One of my favourite homes. The views! The art! The landscaping! It's perfect.
I agree with you - the word PERFECT, is such a perfect description.

A+ home and narrator
This house needs to be preserved and Heritage listed for future generations to enjoy, without any alterations. Lovely owner.
Simply wonderful, this Wexler designed home is so very lucky to have owners like Steven and his partner...
I love mid century modern homes they will never go outta style ❤❤
Big Applause. Very well done. Beautiful home, Video, Presentation, Narration TOP Level. Thanks for sharing. KB
Now that's a beautifully thought out home. Magnificent.
Stunning on every level. A dream home !
I think too often we now find ourselves wanting to create something that is profoundly individual - very powerful and also true, thanks for sharing!
WOW - an absolutely spectacular example of classic Palm Springs mid-century modern architecture and design! Excellent video production, too!
We're so glad you enjoyed this glimpse into classic Palm Springs mid-century modern-it’s truly an inspiring style!

The home is beautiful, every angle of the home is striking, and the videography & editing is NEXT LEVEL! This is high level artistry.
Thank you, we're so glad you appreciate the beauty of this incredible project
@@TheLocalProject You guys will film my future home project, I will speak that into existence. Love you, TheLocalProject family! ❤
Love the shape of your pool!

Absolutely breathtaking and a relic treated with care and love. However, wheels on dining chairs completely break immersion.

Wow, another spectacular home captured by The Local Project. Breathtakingly elegant.
Flawless.
Wow! Incredible home and great commentary also. Love it.
Leveled-up capture! Music, editing, sound design.
Wow. I wish i live here. I wish i have this expression if words
hell yeah. what a great project wonderfully narrated by Steven
This is quintessential Palm Springs.
Absolutely fabulous
Fab. Nice owner too.
CHIC!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Perfection.
Timeless architecture
It is wonderful!
I think the homeowner and the house fit very well because he understands it.
Most wonderful
Love it.
Amazing!! ✨
This is amazing! ❤ I'm in love
Lovely!
I could so live here!!
My perfect house
This is a Steven Harris home! Please host me lol. 😭😍
Include me, please!
A casa é uma obra de arte, geometria pura 😍 as obra de arte literalmente falando também são de primeira linha. *acredito ter visto um Burle Marx 🙆🏻
Amazing
Gorgeous house, but the artificially green monoculture grass of the golf course in the middle of a desert pains me
such elegant living
My dream house ! 💖
He understands
Beautiful vistas.
looks good but nothing that makes me go ooooohhhh this is impressive.
Di Niro in Casino vibes in a good way
I like the door.
Steven Harris, can we be friends?😮
Bought a Wexler in 2015, located in El Rancho Vista Estates, north of the airport. Loved it but had to sell. Very sad…

Age less beauty
Oh Rio and Bossa vibes
❤❤❤
Thank the fallout games for getting me into mid century modern stuff
Age ing beauty

nice mcm ps Is the place price I like La Jolla
I would love to buy a house accidently
What is that tree over the outside table??

Hello
Palm Springs is nice to see on screen but not soo much to live here…..
If someone here in the comments could buy me this house, arrange for my green card in the USA and also get me some golf lessons that would be great thanks 👍
I think I need a cigarette.
one of them ones
Wonderful but imbalanced... 5 minutes on the home, 0 minutes on the cars? 🤓

Not pretentious at all
Video sucks! Show the house not clips
How about actually showing the house?...
Architect speak is really the most pretentious of all
🥱don't like it.
It has no soul. Non merci
