Always enjoy watching your vids. Thank you for the context about the record eligibility as well, actually useful information. Oh and you guys took a broom with you to do a hill climb in the countryside in autumn, I commend your sensibility! 👏🏼
When an animal like yourself Cam, is struggling and nearly weave off your bike, it goes to show how steep that hill really is. Cameras never do gradients any justice. Top effort lad 👍👌
Cheers Cameron from the crazy nutter that stopped in his car this morning near Parbold to say hi before you headed up the Beacon! Your videos have inspired me to get back on the bike and love cycling so was great to see you.
Awesome , you smashed it .First time I have watched one of your video's , very good, hope to watch more. I liked how you demonstrated the gradient by skiing down on your cleats ahhhh!
***kin savage! Cam you didn't sound on top form talking before the attempt, sounded like you were getting over something other than the climb. Major kudos for conquering that beast! 👍🚴😊
They never even went to the top. No KOM or QOM attempt. Pretty useless. And all the hill climbers were there round the corner at Winnats the other week. They all could have done it.
Doesn’t matter who copy who. I’ll still watch you climb, because you’re not GCN and vice versa. Thanks for showing how brutal the climb was. Just like what the other comment mentioned, camera never do justice to the gradient.
Didn't get the Kom, you were on 39/28 FFS, I'll wager the KOM had more friendly gearing. Absolutely Stella effort Cam, the thing is almost vertical. Bloody bossed that bloody savage beast.
I thought that it can’t be that hard and surely Cameron is fitter than that! So I had a go hmmmmm , perfect weather for January and the leaves where cleared to the side. I did manage to summit but at a whopping 2.9mph and had to sit down at the top as I could hardly stand up. Well done Cameron and thanks for the video, really helped with my prep.
I've just been there this morning to give it a shot but the leaf covering I far worse now than on your video, I thought I might have a chance to get up with a 34 cassette but unfortunately no traction, funny thing is I walked it all the way to the top and still ended up being around 130 out of 300 😅
What a brute of a climb! I couldn't even say that you didn't try with a straight face if I wanted to, cause there was no anyone would get up that without going pretty much full gas. :S Well done, Cam! You aren't exactly featherlight and that's a pretty respectable time tbh. Even Andy deserves some props there, he got pretty far. :D Ps. Andy Nichols, the HC specialist. Yeah... that KOM wasn't going to be taken so easily. :P
I went to Harlech once, it's got an impressive castle which looks nice in the dark as it's lit up, that road isn't that steep imo plenty up this way, Long Heys Ln by Upholland is a grind..
This was way better than the GCN video, anyway. Shows why it doesn't matter if you're copying them tbf. Also said this the last time you did Harlech, change your fucking gearing, man. You'd have nailed the KOM if you'd ridden a 30 or 32 tooth cassette. The new Dura Ace has at least a 30 tooth cassette, doesn't it? Do yourself a favour.
That’s going to be a Mecca for every hill climber in the country and what an awesome place to hold the national champs. It would be a crime if they opened that up to vehicles.
Yeh like an automotive UA-camr who said we’re travelling from Scotland to the midlands. So they drive to MK Milton Keynes. Yeh. Very Birmingham Coventry lol. MK is on London commuter local lines
I cannot belive you kept a 39 on your bike no wonder you had to grind you nutter! Fair play for getting up it though looks real nasty. Odd the stipulations for the book of records though in that regard I don't think it will ever be "officially" the steepest road.
train on hills....you should be able to do just about anything...hardknott on 50/34 - 32/11...plenty of scope for changing that to make it much easier....still...hard bloody work....well done for anyone getting up any of the 'big' hills in the uk or anywhere else....
Clough is pronounced cluff as in fluff but with a "cl". Great video though, brilliant effort and really looking forward to doing this one myself as it's a local one for me. :)
Is anyone else wondering how on earth they actually managed to pave it in the first place?! 😱 Well done getting up there! 👏🏻
That's a savage climb! As a builder I noticed the stone wall up most of it and feel sorry for the poor sod that once had to wheelbarrow them up
GG on the not copying GCN bit, I also have screenshots of the 'going where the dart hits' idea before you posted hahaha
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Who was faster though, cam or gcn?
And yes, you do NEED to do it again in the Spring. With the better gearing this time.
Way better than GCN's vid anyway. Props for making it up! 🚀
Always enjoy watching your vids.

Not just a pretty face eh?! haha

Thanks Stewart, it was honestly mad
Cheers Cameron from the crazy nutter that stopped in his car this morning near Parbold to say hi before you headed up the Beacon! Your videos have inspired me to get back on the bike and love cycling so was great to see you.
Haha nice one mate. Gave me a little bit of extra motivation before the climb🤣 cheers for saying hi!
Awesome , you smashed it .First time I have watched one of your video's , very good, hope to watch more. I liked how you demonstrated the gradient by skiing down on your cleats ahhhh!
amazing that harlech is in south wales now 🤣
Some power Cam , you the main man. Congratulations on all your success ☎️🎉
***kin savage! Cam you didn't sound on top form talking before the attempt, sounded like you were getting over something other than the climb. Major kudos for conquering that beast! 👍🚴😊
Haha you would be right. I’ll have to go back at some point 😂
Much better than GCN Vid, massive power to get up there....Well done Cam Excelent loved it
Well done mate, that was a very brave and determined effort.
ayyyyyyyyyy Cam back with the vlogs! actually thanks tho. I genuinely get so happy when u upload
Well done Cam and fantastic video production 👏🔥
Thanks man!
More interesting and fun than the GCN. Good job, cam & co. ;-)
Unreal effort that mate 😊👏
Love your work
Mad respect on that climb… 😎🤜🏽🤛🏽
Nice one mate
Now there's a lad who doesn't pay for his own tyres or cleats ;). This is on my doorstep and I'm still not doing it, great effort Cam (& Andy!)
That's exactly what I thought! Joys of being sponsored hey.
Thanks Dan! Go give it a go but make sure to do a warm up before hand 😂 jumping straight on the bike didn’t help at all!
Cleats are cheap….
Cameraman POV shots look sick with those colours and the camera quality
Cheers nutter
Great kit cam
Harlech is in North Wales mate :)
Amazing effort, chapeau!
My head is spinning, lungs gassed, and thighs burning just from watching this. I’d totally snap a chain if I started this.
Nice vid mate
goes a fair bit further than gcn would have us believe!
Only looked like 100m on the gcn video
They never even went to the top. No KOM or QOM attempt. Pretty useless. And all the hill climbers were there round the corner at Winnats the other week. They all could have done it.
Crazy ride in those conditions 🙏 wish to attempt this climb one day...
Great vid cam, do you know when you will be doing your backpacking trip?
Another corker. Good to see Granty give it a go. 💪🏻
“A go” 😂😂
Doesn’t matter who copy who. I’ll still watch you climb, because you’re not GCN and vice versa. Thanks for showing how brutal the climb was. Just like what the other comment mentioned, camera never do justice to the gradient.
I wondered what you were doing around there when I saw you, loved it! Beaut scenery too
Solid effort! I
Your videos are more enjoyable that gcn. Looks a lovely climb 🤣
Yeah but Manon is much cuter ...heck Ollie is pretty sexy too ...just saying lol
@@abnerdonaldson6010 Bit odd

Kom rider was also 20 kilos lighter
Maybe I should return with the right gearing 🤣
@@Cameron_Jeffers I think you should, and drag Pritchard along. Just tell him it’s a new out door car park KOM. He likes KOMing in car parks 😉😆
Need a 34 x 34🤙🤤😆
The dream
have you ever tried some roads in liege/luik Belgium like Rue Xhovémont. it is not as steep but has a coble road going up to make it interesting
It's bloody savage!! Glad you had a crack

Big kudos for doing the video and great effort! 👍💪 beats GCN’s. Loving the dramatic music and video editing
Cheers mark!
My legs are burning watching this video
Good effort
Nice one Cam, definitely too steep for me!
Fucking hell, good effort Cameron (and Andy) - sounded like you were sick as well 🤯🥵
nice work brother 👍

Ahhaha I didn’t even realise it was Andys until after I’d ridden up. Then it all made sense
I’ll be back 🤜🏼
Hello from santa barbara CA
Great effort!!. (FYI; Harlech, North Wales, not South 😁)
this is just off one of my usual cycle routes. might attempt it once it’s not locked off anymore
Great effort
Awesome 👌
as always 🤜
Nice one Gordon
WAYYYYYYYYYY better than GCN! That camera quality thooooo
I went to Harlech once, it's got an impressive castle which looks nice in the dark as it's lit up, that road isn't that steep imo plenty up this way, Long Heys Ln by Upholland is a grind..
Shout out to the Danny Mcaskill nose wheelie
😂
What gear set up did you have?? INSANE!
Quality, as always.
Think you need to go back in the summer with the gearing you mentioned..... go on
Fine!!
Harlech is north wales
Dude are you high in the opening clip? Lol
High wtf😂 no of course not!
Kudus Cam. Good effort.
had the watts but not the cadence, go back with 34-30/32 and should get it no problem - No idea how you got up 30%+ with that gear ratio, good effort!
Me and my brother only just managed on emtbs so we'll done! Now Where's winnets pass?😂
Walked up it last year it it's broken state with our bikes after getting lost!!!
Really insane! When 20% section feels like flat
What gearing did you have on !
I live right at the bottom, should have popped round for tea!
Oooo should’ve invited me!
Chap-flipping-pau!
39 on the front!! Epic.
Good effort mate, but you are pro after all 😉
Haha. That’s why we sent Andy up. To give it some perspective
I live at the bottom - it’s pronounced Bamford “cluff’
Ffs! I’ll get a pronunciation right one day
@@Cameron_Jeffers haha 😂
As in Brian Clough
Fair play to you Sir ...500 watts + for that length of time ...ouch
This was better than gcns video anyway ;)
Dare you to go down it! 🚴💨
I did, just VERY slow ahahhaa

What’s that HUUB top you’re wearing at the start of the video?
Very nice indeed
It’s a lightweight hoody. I MAY not have been released yet if you’re unable to find it on the website. It’s bloody nice!
@@Cameron_Jeffers Thanks Cam, I’ll take a look 👍🏻
What’s the strava segment called?
Bamford Clough official, I THINK
Bamford Clough Up
NIce one on getting up that! What was your average BPM for it?? Better footage of the climb than GCN's video.
Not sure mate! Didn’t have my HR monitor on. If I do it again I’ll take it!
@@Cameron_Jeffers Haha its ok don't worry wouldn't want to put you through all that pain again!
That’s going to be a Mecca for every hill climber in the country and what an awesome place to hold the national champs. It would be a crime if they opened that up to vehicles.
It wouldn't make sense for them to do so cos it would get turned into a rat run
South Wales??? You’re having a laugh mate? Harlech is in North Wales only about an hour from Snowdon.
Yeh like an automotive UA-camr who said we’re travelling from Scotland to the midlands. So they drive to MK Milton Keynes. Yeh. Very Birmingham Coventry lol. MK is on London commuter local lines
It’s wales who gives a fuck
@@miiitchelll2555 oh. Bad for the Welsh. Then
It’s south of me in my defence
Jesus Christ 28 on the cassette.
Harlech, South Wales???
awaiting the obligatory 'I used to ride this on a 42-19 back in the day!
Cam 1 - Ollie 0 😂😂😂
😂 we gotta race
Sat on the sofa and my legs are screaming at me in pain watching that effort. Looks the worst of the worst of the worst.
Thats just like me @18% on 70x25 gearing. Just my rpm is below 30
Harlech is not in south wales lol
My bad😂
ohh, and check google maps so you can see where Harlech is!! it's not in South, but North!!!you got the location of the village in the Peaks right!!!
Check Komoot & look for Bamford, you can easily find Bamford Clough, as someone would of marked it as a highlight.
I cannot belive you kept a 39 on your bike no wonder you had to grind you nutter! Fair play for getting up it though looks real nasty. Odd the stipulations for the book of records though in that regard I don't think it will ever be "officially" the steepest road.

Why was it paved?
Good question.
Cam, great effort and I dont think you're 100% unless the husky voice is deliberate.
South Wales? Harlech is North Wales lad haha
Take a 34/32 transmission. And loose some weight ;-)
Indonesia good climbing , (KM 0 Bojong koneng)
I’m a big GCN fan but have to be honest your video was better well done Cam, do miss miss the doggies though 👍
Got some exciting news on the dog front coming up 👀
Where you had rpm… I thought that was BPM pulse… thinking damn, super low
