Still loving this 30 plus years later. One of the best versions ever of this song. I've been a fan since Brave was released and have enjoyed her content ever since. Keep going beautiful.
Wow,I hadnt heard this song in over Thirty years.Remember watching it on Video hits as a Ten year old..Just A classic that still holds up today..What a treasure Kate Ceberano is.
What a brilliant voice! Just like Rose Royce's version, the melancholy is so palpable. The saddest thing about Kate's version of this great song however, was while it received some airplay when it was released, it suddenly disappeared when Madonna's version was picked up a short time after! Anyone who's heard that (or any of Madonna's songs for that matter) could instantly recognise that she couldn't carry a note even if it was put in a backpack and slung over her shoulders! It just proves that marketing, vast amounts spent on production, and playing up to the easily influenced trumps talent and ability in the commercial world! Well done Kate! One of the elite of Australian music!
That also shows how the US Music Industry finds it easier to promote tarts rather than talent. And it sadly reflects even worse on the Oz Music Industry and it's refusal to promote Aussie talent.
I remember back in 1985 I gave Kate's great Record to Greg Edwards from Soul Spectrum Show on Capitol Radio in London UK and he loved it so much that he played it straight away on his big Show on Saturday night and it was a shame that it didn't get released in the UK because it would have become a Soul hit!! I still Love it and thank you very much Kate!!
I'm Talking did an amazing job of covering this song. This was the version I first heard as a child not realising it had already been sung in the late 70's.
Same here. I remember it on the radio often in the period 1985-86 and later thought that was funny for a 1978 song. I didn't realise it was an Aussie cover version that I'd been hearing at the time.
I remember seeing them (at the Dee Why hotel - maybe January 1985- before the extensions there - the old stage was tiny and only about a foot high). The performance of this song was amazing and the crowd response was was over the top. The crowd kept cheering and clapping. Wouldn't stop. In the end I think Kate was a bit embarrassed. Would love to know if this song always got that response or if that was an unusual night.
salty voice, i like her. i guess she was a legend but it's the first time i've been listen to her. Sound is amazing wow like 80's disco sound. The bass walking... classy. and hair cut ahahaha nr1!
I did not know this cover until today. There are simply no bad covers to "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" because singing it is always a labor of love. Cheers!
better than the original, has the perfect mood and pace
Equal to any female artist in the world, her voice was sensational.
... and it still is sensational.!
...have to agree...

I got the most crappy computer speakers in the world but Kate's voice is still sounding amazing.

Really like this version - subtle, smooth, stylish .
A faithful 80's cover of a late 70's Rose Royce classic.
Amazing cover.
So fabulous❤
ALWAYS loved Kate! Had the immense pleasure (I'd actually call it "honour") of catching up with her quite a bit professionally over the years!
