  • It's a complicated question sometimes to know in MBTI if you are an Extrovert or Introvert. In this video, I go over some of the basics, but please note, to really get an understanding of what your type is, you will have to start learning the cognitive functions. BUT!!! It's so fun uwu

    yes, they're confusing so many things. as you said once, introversion is not the same as being reserved. one thing that makes me wonder time to time is this trend of most people identifying themselves (out loud) as introverts, specially in social media. i mean, bruh. is this related to people mistyping themselves as infj, ...? what's wrong with being your authentic type, while nobody is threatening them to be otherwise.
    i like the video references btw, specially that ted talk :)
    also, a few days ago for the nth time i wanted to install the discord app and sign up for the first time, but i didn't. the idea of having (fast) simultaneous chats with multiple people while they're talking to each other as well, scares the shit out of me; i.e. the very meaning of the word 'discord', actually. i envy you guys :')

    • @PsychologyandChillwMichi
      @PsychologyandChillwMichi  3 роки тому +3

      there is a recent over-identification with introversion I think. People thinking they are introverts because they got socially awkward with Covid lol

    I really in between the "lets dig into this" and "naaah i'll deal with it later" lol. Especially when it comes to problem at work i overthink about it and somehow i feel uncomfortable or fear of making mistakes. but other than that, i tend to speak it first, i'm comfortable just to speak up my mind. Even though i have minimum knowledge about something lol.

    I find people with Te are actually very fast at mental arithmetic. Faster probably than a Ti user.
    I think this is because the Te user is focused fully on the output/result (i.e the number. "Quick!!! Get the number!!!") Whereas a Ti user is more focussed on the process of how it came about.
    The Te is poised for speed of the result and gains satisfaction from mainly the result.
    The Ti is poised for analysing or picturing/understanding how we got from A to B and gains satisfaction from the little moments where they go "ah...hmm ok i get it"
    One if my friends is an enfp and it blows me away how fast he does mental arithmetic sometimes.

    • @snudgegalbraith3447
      @snudgegalbraith3447 3 роки тому +1

      And yes i know its fucking dumb to care about how you got to a number from mental arithmetic. The truth is i dont actually really care tbh. What im talking about is like how the mind is poised.
      if someone asks me to do mental arithmetic i might take like half an hour (slight exageration) thinking slowly through each step. Its like the Ti wants to create a sequence of thread of understanding from the start of the process to the end. If there is a blip or jump just to get the result.... This will annoy the intp as theres like a blind spot to them (even though we now have the answer or result it isnt really satisfying)

      @@snudgegalbraith3447 My father (Te) used to work as an accountant in a bank and to this day he never forgets a number, which my distracted mind finds baffling! My sister (Te) has a great memory for numbers and is excellent in statistics 📈. My brother (Ti) does lightning fast mental calculations and is a math genius. Me (Ti) was good in maths but suck at recalling most numbers 😅, only exceptions are often used and memorable (or mnemonic) numbers!

    • @snudgegalbraith3447

    • @bio.Luminescence
      @bio.Luminescence 3 роки тому

      @@snudgegalbraith3447 Honestly no, my brother (Ti) has an eidetic memory for numbers and everything else as well, just like my father, mother and sister, but since he’s autistic and has ADHD, maybe that impacts his level of interest in something 🪃. He memorises formulas, after understanding them, very easily. I think we are all born with these abilities, but once you go through the often-times repetitive and little-varied school system, the general population tends to forget they can use them at all, or only have little conscious control of it. Maybe all of them have a form of dyslexia, at least my sister is dyslexic, my brother and my mother have hyperlexia, which has a broader definition in autism: they decode language but don’t associate anything to it, since they have a higher frequency differentiation hearing issue due to excessive tension. Easily solved through phonics and symbol (letter) association. I use Exemplar Education’s early reading program. It seems, a language cognitive impairment is a good thing for imagination and eidetic memory preservation. You ‘lose’ what you are not stimulated to use 🤹‍♀️!! If only schools would learn to stimulate imagination while teaching children to read ⚡️! Not hard at all, even I can do it with an ever increasing number of kids.

    This was so fascinating! Sometimes-like in the case of this video-I run to the comment section to share my thoughts. But sometimes I genuinely don't know what I think until I start talking to someone. Experience has taught me to be more reserved and make sure I'm not running over others with what I have to say (which I have been known to do at times). I still feel like the "ambivert" description fits me. Loved this video!
