THANKS for watching! If you have any questions, COMMENT AWAY! We're here to help. Anyways here's a little TLDR of today's pointers; - DON'T sell ships! - SAVE your global XP (green XP) for global XP ships! - Check the store so often for free bundles! - Do your daily challenges, and other challenges for potential rewards! - Pay attention to the World of Warships: Legends SOCIALS! Join my Discord as well - we post most if not ALL codes Wargaming releases! My Discord Server is ALWAYS linked in the description! - HAVE fun, learn the game at your own pace. It is honestly the best WW2 naval game on consoles.
My number one tip for new players is do NOT get in a big hurry to spend money on this game. Most of the ships in the store are just slightly different versions of ships in the techtree and you're not going to know how to play high tiers ships anyways so you'll probably get wrecked and screw things up for your team. Play all the different ship types across all the nation's techtrees work your way up at least few tiers even if you don't like a particular nation or ship type, learn the game first. Then, if you decide it's worth it, maybe look into starting off with the campaign if you play a lot or start worrying about dropping the price of a AAA game on one of those shiny premium T7's. I've been playing for 3 years and the only ship that I bought that I still play on a regular basis is Arizona and I bought her, on sale, only because it's a historically significantly ship, but, objectively, my New Mexico plays the same and has almost identical stats. All Arizona really gains me is a small boost to silver.
Much agreed. Wargaming does a real professional job of using psychological carrots to get you spending money, some are akin to gambling tactics. They’re obviously highly tuned into statistics, as per game mechanics, but they do this with the whole rest of the game. It’s in tech tree progression - a non linear progression - and the various currencies, flashy discounts etc etc. I’m all for whales throwing coin into a game. But I don’t want to throw AAA money into one ship. Make them 1/4 - 1/3 the price and I might buy a few. The game is polished enough to warrant medium spend, but not triple digits.
Nice video DGG 👍 I’m new to WOWSL since February and can echo all you said. I actually found the menus and variety of stuff bewildering. So I thought of doing a new account walk through to explain everything step by step - really dumbed down. Like your explanation of stuff on the top row, I think each main page / section of the title screen needs explanation too. You mention free to play. I think that and minimum spend are really useful and applies to a lot of people / audience. So telling them what they get from Premium, and maybe from the Campaign. Some things I wish I knew when I started you covered. But I’d add: 1. What benefits are there to having a premium ship (the weekly premium missions, as well as more credits). 2. Don’t fret over premium ships. Play the game, find what you like. Bide your time, as you can plump on a ship you’re after and wait for a big discount. Which leads me on to… 3. The game is always refreshing stuff monthly. New challenges etc., ways to obtain new commanders or ships etc for free. It’s hard. I think the game has grown over years and made it self complex, in a chase to keep it interesting for existing players. My top tip to avoid spending money : enjoy the game at each tier. There’s no race to top tier, in fact you’re likely to not enjoy top tier hardcore. So enjoy each tier, explore ships from each country - learn strengths & weaknesses. It takes time. I found it very difficult to find a good ‘How to’ for newbies on YT. Many videos dive into a match of epic destruction with non-scripted waffle. I think a playlist (so you can edit it later when Wargaming make a big patch) would be ideal. Starting here with your basics. It turns out WOWS has its own YT channel. It doesn’t come up as a top search result. It actually teaches you which buttons to press and mechanics of bits. Maybe not all. YT is a minefield.
ideally when you join a fleet send messages and talk to the people so that you develope a friendly relationship so that they know who you are and don't kick you when they want to get someone else cause if you don't talk to your fleetmates and you're shit at the game you won't stay for long also not all the fleets are for you so pick your a fleet and if they are shit as in behavior FUCK THEM OFF don't stay in there cause you will suffer keep searching for a good fleet and you will find it
He forgot to say DO NOT spend your doubloons to convert them into credits. If you don't have enough to buy a crate for a chance to get a premium ship or just buy one with your doubloons, just hold onto them. Premium ships will earn you more credits in the long run than converting doubloons into credits.
Great Video, I got Hyuga in a Summer Crate, so yes it is possible to get ships in Big Crates. I agree with you on not selling ships and free to play players should use GXP on premium ships. I am a baby whale for War Gaming because I will spend money to get ships, especially if they are on sale, in a decent bundle, or with a coupon.
What's nice is the game is tiered to 2 levels above or below your tier, what sucks is you as a new player still end up going against someone who's 2 tiers above you with a fully decked out ship.
if I had one free wish from WG, your video as intro to the game + an "how to play wows legends" video (too many need to be told about the purpose of their ship) I did some dumb stuff at the start with GXP :(
lesson learned I went chasing ships for the Bureau using my Global Xp to get ships for the Bureau projects . So now I have very little Global Xp . I do have tons of Elite Xp I could convert to Global Xp but that takes tons of Doubloons . I have almost 2 million Elite Xp that I could convert that will cost hundreds on real world money to convert.
My technique for that is to have it where half of the torpedoes are about 50% ahead on the aim line and 50% on the line and then launch the 2nd rack an 1 second later 50% on the line and 50% behind the line to maximize the chance of hitting ships.
Hey Dr. G! Can you do a video on bayard with Louis Violette as captain? Perks i use are quick fix, go all out, stand or fall, sidestep, and unstoppable, inspirations are mikawa and kuznetsov. I had really consistent games with it
Good video. I've been getting kicked from the server more than ever since i've been playing this game. I don't know what the fuck is going on but they need to figure that shit out NOW! Completely ruins the experience in the middle of a game.

Cali does it for me she is better on all aspects but good points dude

That was a great video for new players
How do you shoot a full Salvo? 😊🎉
By default if i remember right double tap the fire button to full slavo.
Should I launch torps on the aiming line or .....
