- "You didn't deserve anything in life. You only deserve what you earn."
Dan Marino reflects on growing up in Pittsburgh, thanks 26 teams for passing on him so he could play with the Miami Dolphins, and talks about the friends, family members and coaches who impacted his life in his 2005 Hall of Fame induction speech.
Simply the best pure passer to ever play the game. My football Sundays haven't been the same since he retired.
To a lot of us.
The franchise hasn't been the same.
He just needed a consistent running game to make the Dolphins' game two dimensional.
I still look for any Phins games to watch on YT from this era rather than the 20+ years of mediocrity since he retired. Even a game from the lean years of '86-'89 is better.
A lot of Miami dolphins in the hall Dan Marino Bob
Griese Mercury morris
It took QB's 20+ years to catch up to Dan and his numbers.....
And no championship ring
@@MrTeatreeoil like i said rings don't define a great player greatness
@@MrTeatreeoil lots of great nfl players did not win rings it does not mean they are not great
MrTeatreeoil it’s a team game
@@LevelSkip Do you consider how great a RB or WR was by a championship ring?
Give Marino a running back,,,,or a defense....Damn, put him in the league now!!!
My troubled childhood was brightened so much by being able to watch Dan marino and the dolphins throughout his entire career.
He had no defense or running game to help, so he had to put up 30+ points every game to win. Unfortunately, his last game was the worst ass whooping I've ever seen in a NFL game (62-7). The Dolphins haven't been competitive since Dan retired.
before the scoreboard said 50 something.. i thought we had a shot!
thank you Dan Marino for years of being a Miami Dolphin
Go dolphins
Dan Marino has no championship ring

Yes your absolutely right.
Dan has class and heart.
That's hard to find today.
With a decent running game and an average defense, he has 3 SB rings.
Absolute legend and very underrated. Should've won a ring.
I don’t care what anyone says, he was the greatest ever!
I was going to like this, but it's at the perfect number!
Classic HOF induction speech. Finished with the last pass.
That is me at the 17:54 mark slapping Mark Clayton on the back - thrill of a lifetime.
So lucky. What a memory man. What a memory.
will there ever be a pure passer like this man ever again? I love watching philip rivers cus he's like a poor man's marino lol
No slight at rivers, I meant that as a compliment cus marino was that damn good
Aaron Rodgers is more of poor man's Marino than Rivers
Still my fav Qb all time. Got to see him beat my seahawks in the kingdome 19 to 17 around 1993ish....was awesome to see him live!
It was 1992 and Rufus Porter hit him so hard after he threw it that it pretty much knocked Danny out. They were down 17-12, he got taken out for one play after the concussion just to throw the game winning touchdown lol
he lost 20 pounds on nutrisystem so he could fit into his hof jacket lol
lmao
Man, He is the true greatest of all time.
Yo its Dan Marino
Being born in Miami and growing up with zonka greasy Jim kiick and that incredible defense this just brings tears to my eyes thank God I got to see all of that thank you Dan Marino
What I learn from Dan Marino being in a HOF is that it’s not about how many Super Bowls you win it’s about your overall performance. Winning the Super Bowl is like the best trophy in the NFL, but the HOF is legendary. HOF is based on your best performance and talents and people will not forget that player
As a Bills fan, much respect to a living legend
Compared to Marino' Brady is a HS senior.
Simply the best ever.
that was a nice pass I wish I would've caught that pass from Dan Marino lol
quickest release in qb history. put him next to byron leftwitch --side by side and you will be in awe.
😂😂😂
I got emotional.
So many years watching and cheering this guy, this team, this coach.
marino was the beatles of quarterbacks. he revolutionized the position. there was nothing like watching him slinging the ball all over the field every sunday.
The greatest qb to ever play
Marino, Clayton, Duper. A combo that I watched beat my beloved Bears in '85. There was no mistake who was the best QB in my opinion
I dont think he belongs in the HOF. Even with the greatest coach ever he could never accomplish the goal of the game.....
Catholic education is an oxymoron lol karma....
Hail To Pitt!!!!
what other qb is in HOF without SB ring ?...crazy stat
CalViN ThOmAs Moon,Fouts,Kelly,Tarkenton.
Jim Kelly and Warren Moon
Did marino not mention shula by name ?? ..if so i must of missed it ...
Class act
Let's Go Fins! We owe you a Super Bowl Dan the Man!

Danmarinofanatic

Sucks he never won a ring he have 3 rings

That combination was the best to watch and Marino will always be the best, should have won a few Super Bowls
Laces out Dan.

@@Miafunfactory stat filler
#1 on the list of the greats is TB12 Tom the goat Brady
Mr Burbank so a cheater is #1 on your list? Pathetic.
Played 20 years and No Super Bowl ring 😄😄😄
Unlike you he is a hof
He's in the HOF. Like winning a Superbowl ring, it's still an amazing and awesome achievement.
There's more players with superbowl rings than there are players in the hall of fame. Which is harder to accomplish? Enough said
