Nothing wrong with that, people of Asian and African descent are usually pretty hard working people. The likes of Rishi Sunak and Kemi Badenoch are the exception to prove the rule.

I have been living in the UK for 21 years. The fact that the UK has turned into a neo-marxist/fascist state has made me wanting to go home. Next year is bye-bye.
I'm English, and I left the UK before Brexit to live in Romania. Life here is much better than in the UK and has more freedoms. I work for a Romanian company and live well.

I remember in 2000 South Park made an episode featuring Romania as (how I remember it) a poverty stricken country. Looks like Romania has made some improvements over the years, looks like a place I would love to visit. The UK, on the other hand, really shot itself in the foot with Brexit.
It was , I remember my childhood (95’-00’) in Jassy in grey like a non ending november , only the summers spent at my grampas home are colorful in my memories , now even tho its better the wages are still low , rents are high but i can t find myself thinking of leaving it , its home .
Yes. I'm old enough to remember the last year of communism and it's a night and day difference. I'll give you some examples in numbers. Our GDP rose by 600% since 1990 (50 vs 300 billion USD). Minimum wage alone rose by 300% since 2008. My own income rose by 5-6 times since 2008. If you look what we looked like in 1990, everyone looked like a beggar. Now, we look just like everyone else. I assume that if I don't open my mouth, I could pass for a local in any Western country. When I was a kid, I remember looking at a Neckermann album a relative of mine had brought from Germany (he managed to get a visa and work in construction over there). The toys in there seemed Sci Fi. Now, I can just pop in a mall and find toys just like those or I can order them online. It's a massive, massive positive difference. And yet... those benefits haven't been equally distributed throughout the country. The countryside still needs investment and development.
Georgescu will become president and we will go back in time after Georgescu's Romania will also make a Brexit. This is what happens when the crowd is naive and gullible.
So, while some Romanians are out here in the UK, contributing to the economy and culture, one can’t help but wonder why they don’t stay in Romania and work on the issues that need addressing. After all, wouldn’t it be more productive to build their own country rather than rely on the hospitality of others? Just a thought!
And why not return home!? So many things start to go wrong in UK! So in Romania there is plenty things to do for them and for the homeland! Afterall as far as I am concern there is a trend in UK : " Britain for brits only" ... So my countryfellows respect this demand...😊
" Britain for brits only" Increasingly, it seems to be for the "right sort of Brits only". A lot of Brits seem to be very upset that I emigrated 20 years ago.
@Korschtal Right! ... In my oppinion I think Great Britain myth is still there amoung brits... TODAY IT became " Little Britain" EXACTLY as was depicted in that comedy serie... Mark Williams & Matt Lucas... Both are 💯% brits... This is wheel of history... Just walk on London streets or on football arenas... Many so many other ethnic people are there, mostly from former colonies( India Pakistan etc)... TODAY they represent a lucrative force for UK GDP...
A very important thing: The romanian population that is coming back are those that acquired a lot of experience in specific fields. So the UK prepared them for later and better jobs at home. Doctors, teachers, students (later workers in specific fields), etc. One of the reasons a lot of doctors left Romania is that they learned about a lot of treatments, procedures but they were unable to perform them because of the old medical equipment but now, over 10-15 years from those moments, private hospitals were build and the old hospitals got brand new equipment. Why do you need to pay rent there when you already have a house at home, or maybe save money for a new one in the country (also way cheaper).
Your video is not up to date, a salary of a police man is over £1500/ month, things have changed in a very good way, u should visit Romania and take good picts, what car you showed about police is from 1990s, now we have BMW 3series and so on… get ur facts right bro ! @@rivertonhigh-v4tdon't worry, dictator Georgescu will unite us with Russia again and they will take everything we have and put us in camps in Siberia because there are many naive and gullible Romanians who believe the propaganda of dictator Georgescu
As a Romanian who lived in the UK for 13 years, I can confidently say that returning to Romania was the best decision I made. Although I earned a decent salary in the UK, more than 60% of it went towards rent, a car, bills, and food. In the UK, it often feels like you live to work rather than work to live. Life in Romania, like in the UK, isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, but I now have more free time for myself and my family.
As the population of Europe is growing old and dying out, everyone will be fighting for the work force. Even Romania imports the work force from Asian countries.
The fact that things in the UK have been going downhill for the past few years is obvious, but something that's always bothered me about the UK is the high tolerance towards antisocial behaviour. It's something that keeps getting worse and worse as the social and economic conditions deteriorate. Right now I feel much safer wandering through some of Bucharest's dark streets at night than on Birmingham's high street in broad daylight.
I worked with Romanians in the UK. They work harder than any native Englishman. (Most Central/Eastern Europeans do too) The UK is lucky that it doesn't share a border with Romania. Within 100 years they would annex the East of England as an ancient Romanian land.
When I first moved in the UK from Romania I loved the stores and the cashiers. The amount of stuff that I found in the local supermarket was amazing. If you grew up us a kid in Romania it is almost impossible to sell those memories and poverty has a blessing as you learn to enjoy the simple things a lot more, most English kids live in a clutter of gadgets the uk is like a giant warehouse... you can never trade the Romanian sunset with any sunset from Europe
The uk is just stagnant while Romania keeps growing. Everything in the UK just seems old and dated now while Romania has a lot of new stuff like modern buildings etc. It's the same thing that happened to Japan, it was ahead by world standards but became stagnant
Actually many romanian quit before Brexit was done. But many romanians also have a bussines in UK and in Romania. And i know a lot of them .Most of them quiting UK dont have good jobs in UK.The issue now UK it will go deeper down and down.I saw many british some i know them moving in France ,Spain ,Greece or Romania.
Nicolae Ciucă isn't even the Prime minister anymore. It looks like this video was in the works for a long time. Also the houses you depicted when mentioning that people send money home are from the Romanian minorities who are making the money in less than hard working ways, not all, but a good majority. Also, you're looking at GDP in a very incorrect way. The financial layers have never been worse in the country. We have almost 50% of the population working on minimum wage which is barely 500€ and the others are so scattered that the middle class barely exists. It looks like you looked more on Wikipedia to make the video than at the actual country and how it's day to day activities are going. It would have been nice of you to mention that UK farmers want Eastern European works because they do the jobs that the UK citizens don't want to do. Also, if you go to Poland and tell them they are an eastern European country, you might not get invited for pierogi and zubrowka.
Why we leave uk 3 years ago to rent a 3 bedroom house was £1200 now the same 3 bedroom house is around £2200-£2500 Salary is the same like 10 years ago and all costs of living are increased 10-15 times over the years
May the Lord God who created heaven and earth continue to bless Romania. Having the example of the Lord Jesus Christ who lived beautifully can help us to live beautifully too.
One thing that was not mentioned was the cost of living in the UK, In order for most romanian men to be able to send money back home in the early 2010s they had to live in shared accommodation. At its worst, 50 men would live in one 3 bed house in Burnt Oak. That was because rent in London for a double room would have taken 50% of minimum wage. The young people in the 2020s are not prepared to live like that. So to go home, rent a 2 bed flat for £400 per month and earn the £14K per year sounds like a much better way to live rather than stay 4 in a double room so that you can send £250 per week home.
You missing the point big time , no Romanian gave a f-k about the brexit . Uk became islamised which doesn’t sit well with the conservative east European orthodox communities also the cost of living is a joke , wages did not followed the same trend . In the same time wages grew in Romania , over there people can actually afford to own a home , and without mortgage, council tax , road tax , etc even with lower earnings you have more at the end of the month .
Hahahahaha - wages grew in Romania Minimum wage is 350 quid a month and earned by 30% of the population, it has the worst standards of living in the EU by far along with Bulgaria.
What a question! The romanians are not from the " streets", they're not " homeless",in other words, the Romanians people have their own country, România, and is absolutely natural to go back to their ancestors Land. No other explanation, period! They went to make some monies and come back to their homeland!

This whole video is a lie. From the salary, skin colour, even the numbers working in UK. You should be ashamed if this. Before posting this video have a look again at what you are stating. 250£ for a police officer, more like 2500£. I was earning 10 years ago in romania at least 250/300£ a month as a minimum salary. Portrayed us like asians and countries in asia that earn less than 50£ a month. The video has been reported for miss information. You have literally used a ai generated video , entered the words and didn’t even bother to fact check this. I know we are not the best, but before posting a video like this take a look what’s happening in uk and Europe. Before saying this about Romania and portraying us in this image. Every country has bad people correct, but i am disgusted that you didn’t fact checked this video. For the £ that you make on this video you are making romanians look 100 times worse… and for what , for your 10-20£ you got from this video…
This video, filled with misleading images and posts, perpetuates harmful misinformation. The events depicted took place 35-40 years ago in Romania, a completely different era. Even the police car shown is so outdated you wouldn’t find it in a museum today. Romania has made significant progress, with salaries in certain fields now comparable to the UK and a noticeably higher quality of life. Unlike the UK, we don’t face widespread issues with drug addiction, and crime rates remain relatively low. At 4:31, the inclusion of an image of Asians highlights the lack of factual accuracy in your work. You are far from the truth and should reconsider your approach. Another persistent issue is the confusion between Romanians and gypsies. Simply holding a Romanian ID does not make someone Romanian. Furthermore, the outdated claim that Romanians are fleeing poverty to move to the UK no longer holds. If Romanians fleeing poverty is your narrative, what would you call the situation for people from India, Pakistan, or Africa, where tribal systems still exist in some areas? While many in the UK live in mold-infested homes and depend on council housing, 75% of Romanians own their properties and enjoy better living conditions. It’s time to abandon outdated stereotypes and approach these topics with accuracy, context, and fairness.

It's too bad that the UK is making it difficult to secure a job quickly. It's their loss. Any country would benefit from an influx of highly skilled workers. I worked in Scotland for a while and while I wouldn't say I liked the weather, I found the people better educated than my Romanian fellows. The job paid less than it does in Romania (for the weekly hours I put in), but somehow it was more rewarding working with the Scots than my countrymen. I left in 2019 but I still do an online side gig with one of their Universities just because I like interacting with them.
The central-eastern region of the EU has shown a vast development in the past decade AND they have loads of potential once the war is over and all the industries nearby will work on the reconstruction of the Ukraine. By mid-century they will be equals to the better-run German provinces in terms of working and living conditions. UK is missing the train.
Leaving or staying depends on each individual or family circumstances.I m romanian and a british citizen now and UK is my home.I managed to open and grow a business here in only few years ,and i m pretty sure i couldn't do it in my hometown Bucharest in 30 years.
Don't forget it's not just about the pay gap, but also the language. - English is everywhere, and probably the most common 2nd language for Romanians. - And there's a very real impression that to survive in a foreign country you need to speak THEIR language or you won't last a day, so Germany? Italy? Nordic countries? Not a shot. France? Especially no. - Spain was the only other place Romanians went to in larger numbers, and specifically in field work, picking strawberries. Going to the UK seems way more easy when you know even a tiny bit of English. - And we would've gone to the US in drastically bigger numbers too, if getting a visa didn't cost your first born and rolling three nat 20s in a row.
Why not move to Romania or any other Eu country, you have talent and you will get either or both better treatment, less racism in your country for sure or better wages in the Eu . Even if you dont have talent cause you were not able to atain studies, the economy in the Uk is predicted to shrink compared to the rest so you are better off in any other place.

(1) The first word in this material 'decades' is misleading: Romanians started migrating vastly in the 2010s -- it's been a decade, certainly not multiple. (2) 0:53, you're comparing yearly UK wage with monthly Romanian wage. Again, unforgivable mistake. Less than a minute in, it's clear you guys don't really know what you're talking about.
0:55 That comparison is of a *yearly* average salary in the UK, vs a *monthly* average salary in Romania. Kind of an unfair comparison. I'm not arguing that pays are equal between the two countries, because they're surely not. There is a large discrepancy still. But please, let's compare fairly.
It's not just the UK but also in Ireland, I spoke with several people who talked about going back home to either Romania or other places because of how domestic problems have gotten out of hand or have gotten old enough to not handle the cold wet climate and are longing for a warmer dry climate back home.
@@cy1nh Go to Germany if you wanna earn better and have more developement in terms of tech and buildings, the south is comparable-ish to Romania, or go to Greece for a warmer nicer climate and a more simple way of life
Depending on what your work is and your income, it depends on the amount of money you are gonna have at EOM after rent and other spendings. If its proportionatly the same as Ro, yes most are gonna go back FOR A WHILE. After Brexit many have moved to Germany or Scandinavia. Those with higher skills or self employed moved to more warmer countries like Spain. Don't be fooled about the stats as they don't tell the core truth. Romanians are pissed off due to lack of proper infrastructure, poor quality of public service and the neverending government coruption. For every 1 Romanian returning home, there are 10 leaving - usually young folk
I agree, that plus the Romaniannstate is a bloody populist affair, like if you have some skils or you just so happen not be part of the majority, you'd probably do something like move to Germany or Austria or eslewhere, I'm saying this because I moved especially because the Romanian workforce distribution is a joke and if you're neurodivergent you're even more screwed, add to that being a mixed race hebrew/jewish mongolian trans lady and you essentially are like an enemy to the state so no,nwhy would I wanna stay and pay higer taxes to a state that gives me lesser rights and offers me next to no quality jobs and I can't be myself at work and I can't start my own business either like, I'm pretty much screwed from the start, drug laws get worse amd worse in Romania and I think like another comment said, that only a part of those who leaved for cash reasons only and were from the lower social classes truly returned, and not even all of them to begin with like, some might go to a different country either way instead of returning. As for me, I take this video as a joke as there's more and more ghost jobs in Romania, you need relations to pretty much get nearly any decent job, corruption is on the rise, lgbt rights and drug laws are taking a hit, the economy is corrupt so you end up only feeding corruption instead of working to better the state, no gay marriage, lower quality and quantity of foods, goods and services, depressive communist cities, the uneducated and the douchebags and thiefs rule the streets, like why stay in Romania at this point, as for this video, it's as good as propaganda if you ask me mate.

romania is not doing very well economically, but its doing much better than in the 1990s when most romanians emigrated
Romanians also don’t see Britain a safe country to raise their children. While criminality in Romania was high in the 90’s and early 00’s now Romania has become one of the safest country in Europe way way more safer than UK
And that is related to the mass immigrations into western europe not because immigratants are bad but because there are alot of bad actors

I mean, South Park exaggerates everything about everyone. It's not supposed to be taken seriously

Why we leave uk
3 years ago to rent a 3 bedroom house was £1200 now the same 3 bedroom house is around £2200-£2500
Salary is the same like 10 years ago and all costs of living are increased 10-15 times over the years
May the Lord God who created heaven and earth continue to bless Romania.

I know we are not the best, but before posting a video like this take a look what’s happening in uk and Europe. Before saying this about Romania and portraying us in this image. For the £ that you make on this video you are making romanians look 100 times worse… and for what , for your 10-20£ you got from this video…
Informations are inaccurate or not true

Looking at our electorate... We might be in the same situation as the UK.

Seems like Romanians on benefits (Romanies) are staying put in the UK
Good! Nobody wants those indians.
You can keep those 😂
Those are gypsies, from india. Never were, never will be romanian. Even if they have RO id cards, they're not part of us
Which is most of them
I don't think so, I am romanian. Bought our own house in the UK, never took benefits and still here in the UK. My husband is an IT engineer and he wants to work here. I want to go back to Romania 😅
UK now going down and will be a poor country in a few years, they accept lazy people , Romanian work hard and we are also to smart for UK people. That why when Romania going beack. Who will work in this country ? You ( UK citizen) like to stay and to be payd from GOV. Romanian is mouch more safe then UK . From tv , UK it's paradise, but when you are here is not ( garbage, stinks, criminality, afraid to walk in the dark ) , still cars etc.
Im Romanian myself and i worked in dairy farms for 6-7 years ,i would say racism is a big thing here...and also the pay gap between an English person and a Romanian or Polish is between 50 - 100 % difference in salary !
While you do the same job or sometimes even work harder then an English person,it feels lile modern slavery" wich it is"
Hence i move back myself !
And i urge all Romanian brothers to do the same if possible!
Don't know where you take your info bro,I'm Romanian, came back from UK in 2021 and ...things are better here now,but not as you show in this video. Honestly it's slightly better but still way way behind a lot of countries. Yes you compare it with Hungary which are very very bad right now....not a fair comparison to be honest
Thank you Europe and thank you UK for giving us the oportunity to prosper.
Free ride is over. Many of them were working menial jobs anyway, barely spoke English and lacked the skills to improve their lives. Spent years working the same low-end jobs, sent some money back home , bought a car and/or maybe some place to live in and that's it, they are accomplished individuals.
I'm also at home, soo happy ❤
It's too bad that the UK is making it difficult to secure a job quickly. It's their loss. Any country would benefit from an influx of highly skilled workers. I worked in Scotland for a while and while I wouldn't say I liked the weather, I found the people better educated than my Romanian fellows. The job paid less than it does in Romania (for the weekly hours I put in), but somehow it was more rewarding working with the Scots than my countrymen. I left in 2019 but I still do an online side gig with one of their Universities just because I like interacting with them.
First off, we are coming back so we STILL HAVE a country to return to, we need to revolt for people to vote THE RIGHT PRESIDENT
Even Charlie Ottley decide to move in to Romania from the UK !
Problem is, the English should be protected somehow, not from their eastern brothers, but from outside EU.
Haideți acasă. Avem treabă, multă treabă! Fiecare ce știe cel mai bine!!!
Sorry, but at @4:34 , those ppl are defenetly not romanians. The image is missleading.
you compare a monthly salary (ro) to an annual salary (uk) at 0:53
Don't forget it's not just about the pay gap, but also the language.
Italians language is the most beautiful.and Italian style of life is better than in all of the europe

Possible, but considerably more difficult since the UK left the EU and took away British people's rights to freedom of movement.
As a romanian living in România... There is never a good time to return to Romania, only to leave it.
Maybe it's not the best idea to go outside the EU, but the scandinavian countries are a great option.
At min 4:30 definitely not Romanians. Bias indeed.. no wonder many leave the ex-empire... This is the level of economytalk...... Dislike and Not recommending the channel...
many mistakes and poor image choice, for example 0:53 , this are UK anual average salary and Romanian monthly average salary ,same with 4:30 where you knowingly (to make fun ) or not put a image of gipsies (indians) to portray romanians ...dislike
I am guessing you don't see color , but I would like to tell you Romanians and eastern europeans in general are not from India :)
4:30
romania its still the underdog, currupt and mostly well not so politicaly stabile
It's not just the UK but also in Ireland, I spoke with several people who talked about going back home to either Romania or other places because of how domestic problems have gotten out of hand or have gotten old enough to not handle the cold wet climate and are longing for a warmer dry climate back home.
Most of Romania is not "warmer", dude.
@@abygorsonabor7982 Maybe Romania doesn't but Slovakia is.

The content is based on outdated information, I am Romanian, I live in Romania and I don't understand what you are talking about here, the prime minister has not been Ciuca for a long time, the randomly displayed images are misleading
4:30 these are not native romanians ... man , i'm not racist , but don't presented us like indians or pakistani , we are so different! in the left one man wear sikh turban (hindu religion)! that is ok for him , but not for romanians (white caucasian people, mostly as christians orthodox, religion)
do mention romania has a more than half of its own pib in debt because of the corruption ( 53% of its own pib in debt)
