    I made 4 of these beauties wth big pom poms instead of bells. I'm so happy! My husband, myself and my daughter all have big heads and can't find a Christmas hat to fit. This was perfect! Thank you! Silly Christmas pictures of my family are this weekend.

    I have a question?
    I want to make my husband a hat
    Can I use merino yarn and make that tail end longer ?
    One color to?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  5 місяців тому

      Hi! Merino yarn is a lovely fiber but as its (typically) very expensive, I recommend handing washing it when it needs it. This pattern can be made to fit any head, so it doesn't matter so much what fiber or even yarn weight you use so long as the cuff fits around the head you're making it for and you make it deep enough to fit the crown before you taper into the tail. You might want to keep trying it on him to ensure a good fit as you work. And you can make it any colour or combination of colours you like 😊

    Hi jayda 👸🏻hope all is well…. I was wondering if you can make a very simple Santa’s hat using worsted weight and starting from the end I can not ever get the brim working up 🤶🏼🤶🏼🤶🏼 please that would be my Christmas miracle 🤣 thank you for considering 😍

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! This style can be made all in red with a white brim for a cute Santa hat...in fact the brim can be made in white fluffy yarn too! This style is easier to fit to a head and doesn't require a gauge, where as one worked from the top down does. If you don't have a measuring tape, you can simply make the brim part until it wraps comfortably around your head and then you can seam it and carry on 💗

    • @jenniferrogers8993
      @jenniferrogers8993 7 років тому +1

      TheGoldenpen Aris I would do this same patter. Without the stripes and bell/pompom. I would make it loonger by not reducing every row and make it all white. And there you have it an English Nap Cap :)

    Jayda, do you know how to make a thingy to help me make a pom pom?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  Рік тому

      Hi! You can use your own fingers! Cut a length (about 12") and lay it between your 2 middle fingers. Then wrap yarn around your 3 middle fingers (as much as you want for a big pompom). Then pull the two ends of the short length up and around the wrapped yarn, hold it tightly and carefully slide the whole thing off your fingers. Tie the short length of yarn around the wrapped yarn as tightly as you can, in the middle of the yarn. Wrap it around a couple of times and knot it again. Then, cut all the loops on both sides and start trimming up the pompom 😊

    I really love your toilet paper cover idea, but I wanted a different design for gifts, so I'm going to make this elf hat the size of a toilet paper roll. I think I'll keep the fluffy white lining from the santa pants.

      Hi! You have to use the first st on even rows and the "false st" on odd rows. It's REALLY easy to get going, lose track and forget which one you did (or how many rows ago it was). You might find it useful to use a stitch marker. Mark the first st of the row and when you get back around, you'll see where it was made and you'll know where to finish that row 😊
