Thanks for the video. Pretty easy to make for a first-time paracord project. My first question was where to start, so I started in the middle. The result was that I ended up with about 2 feet of cord above and below my cross. You could cut down on waste by using less cord and splitting it 70/30 or so instead of starting in the middle.
my grandparents are both christians and go to church every sunday, so i made one of these and im gonna give it to my grandma... thanks JD for showing us this... and thanks for showing how to make all of your other knots..
i did a little tinkering with your celtic dagger knot and made it into a cross shape, it uses a lot less cord, and it's flatter, but it's slightly more complicated than this one. i love your videos, thank you so much, you have made a great hobby for me, and it isn't too aweful expensive, thank you.
JD - THANK YOU! I *knew* you would do it totally different than I expected! My Catholic friends are in for a surprise this weekend, and I think I will add (10?) prayer bead knots so they can count their prayers (Hail Mary's maybe? I don't know...). Thanks again!
This is by FAR the coolest thing ive ever seen, i apperciate this so much you wouldnt even belive, im not religous by any means but i would wear this one just to take pride of my work :D You are beyond awesome!!!!!
I've seen people at my church wearing these, and I love making stuff with paracord, so when I asked my friend how to make it, he told me about this video, and I just finished making my own paracord cross!
Glad to see this one posted.. Have seen them before but didn't know how they were made.. Similar to the keychain Fob I saw in the Air Force.. Thanks again for posting this. ~Jim
JD, You are absolutely amazing!!!!!!! This project speaks to my heart............THANK YOU for sharing with those of us that need to watch to learn this art, again hun you are awesome!
Great video! one thing i found though is that it helps to first take out all the nylon out of the paracord before you start weaving, it makes it tighter and alot smaller so it can be easily worn.
@TyingItAllTogether I made this cross following your videos and when I was making a second one I thought you could get a better look flipping the work over after the first knot, thanks for the excellent tutorials :o)
I don't understand why some people do the square stich that way, that's the harder way!!!!! Anyways thanks for uploading this video, Iv'e been dieing to get someone to upload a video on how to make this!!!!! :D Your video is so easy to understand thank you again!!!!! :D
I am going to buy this book "Tying It All Together" ad well as the new animal book. A book and some paracord will make great gifts!! Although I plan to keep one for myself :-) Thanks again, Granny
THANK YOU!!! I have seen these on pintrest etc. but could not figure out how to tie them off and how to tie the vertical and horizontals together. This video is fantastic! Thanks, Granny PS... I think those looking for other religious designs should do a search for their preferred designs... IMHO
Thank you very much for being such a very super awesome good teacher I really learned a lot in the way you tying it all together I really enjoy your tutorial even the music background
From Hellas (Greece) ! You are a good person. Thank you very much. Χρήστος
Vielen lieben Dank! Danach habe ich schon sehr lange gesucht! Fragt mich nicht warum! Ich muss Euch sagen, ich weis es nicht! That`s magic and european history!
Awesome design you do a good job making your videos easy to follow and the people that says this video sucked maybe its because they just suck and their trying to do a design out of their skill level
Hanah Practice is the key! I've made a few of these and they're looking better and better. My advice would be to make the cross, but don't cut and singe the ends. Then untie everything and do it again.
I just did this, but I removed the guts from the cord, which made it a lot tighter and neater looking (in my opinion). I just doubled the number of knots for each side.
How do you join the ends, the ones that aren't snipped? I'm thinking about making one of these for the missus to hang from her rear view mirror. Thanks for sharing, JD!
@TyingitAllTogether Does it matter if I were to use something more or less than 450? Like 400? Or 500? And will you be showing any other cool necklace designs like this?
I really like your videos but one thing I think would help most people watching is to say where on the rope you make that first knot. In most cases I know it starts half way but it's not always the case so specifying that in your future videos would be of great help. Thanks!
have you ever made the Russian Orthodox rosery? Its a series of knots, with the cross like the one here. Instead of parachord, they use wool. Instead of burning the bits at the bottom of the cross, they fray it. IT turns into a wooly tassle, with which you are suppose to dry your tears of repentance. THe rosery has knots you count, for the prayers, with occasional wooden beads for changing the prayer. I'd love to make a greek orthodox rosery
500? This is so much work. Honestly, I think theres something more you could do for them instead of making these things that will probably end up in the trash or lost... Not trying to be rude, but in reality, it happens.
i watched many of your videos and i have to say they are very beautiful and helped me very much, so i want to ask you if you've written a book that shows your works and if it exists which is the title. Thank you so much!
I think we should probably just focus on the knots the gentlemen is doing and appreciate the fact that we all have different ideas, religions and beliefs. I can't make you believe in God or religion and you can't make me stop believing. Ergo, let's just enjoy each other for who we are.
Sir, Is it possible to create a cross using either or both (if possible) the Backbone Bar or Blaze Bar, but still keeping the integrity of the "quick release" capability of those Sinnets? Please let me know, thanks.
Thanks for the videos, really enjoy them and have made dozens of bracelets, to wear and sell. I've enjoyed making the cross necklaces, but I can't figure out a good way to tie in the back. If I do the double overhand knot (one on each strand around the other strand) to make it adjustable, they always end up twisting. Anyone have any ideas?
I got 30m of black paracord in mail to make the bracelet and then i found this video. Now i am waiting for 30m of light brown and 5m of red paracord in the mail. HEHE you got me shopping.
Please tell me what i am doing wrong. I have made three of these crosses so far each starting with four six foot lengths of paracord. I start each part of each cross in the middle using two lengths of cord. When I combine them to make the top and bottom the cross and continue I wind up with four cords on each side -- none of which are looped to form a necklace. Please tell me how to fix this. Thanks.
would u tie the neckless together with just a double knot or what cause i finished the cross but im stuck on that part and i want to make sure it looks good
Ok So I had one of my crazy Ideas whille watching this chip How much more cord would it take to continue braiding flat knots to turn this into A designer Braclet with this cross as the center pease of it Im thinking it should only be a matter of figureing enough cordage to contenue Braiding from here or even start out the braid on the flat as I often do & then turn it into a box braid to form the Cross & back to a flat to finish up flat for a wrist band. I used t know how 2 figure out lengths
At 0:51, is the central focus the exact middle of both cords or some other point? I need to know because I'm making one of these for my girlfriend and I don't want to mess it up.

Love the cross. So clear and easy to see the steps too ! Music is off ! No distractions !
JD - THANK YOU! I *knew* you would do it totally different than I expected! My Catholic friends are in for a surprise this weekend, and I think I will add (10?) prayer bead knots so they can count their prayers (Hail Mary's maybe? I don't know...). Thanks again!
Now I need to get some paracord so I can make my own cross. Thanks for making it easy to understand.
This is by FAR the coolest thing ive ever seen, i apperciate this so much you wouldnt even belive, im not religous by any means but i would wear this one just to take pride of my work :D You are beyond awesome!!!!!
I sure love this music you play in your videos... it's so soothing it helps keep what you're doing in the video easy to follow along.
Oh. . . Man I've been searching all over UA-cam looking for exactly what you just made thank you JD!!!!!
a christian, paracord lover, and soothing music lover, respects to you.

Awesome vids you do! So how much cordage does it take in Inches to make one of these please?

I love you videos, and i was wondering, can the peace sign be done???
would u tie the neckless together with just a double knot or what cause i finished the cross but im stuck on that part and i want to make sure it looks good
it's excellent everyone could see this video
Ok So I had one of my crazy Ideas whille watching this chip How much more cord would it take to continue braiding flat knots to turn this into A designer Braclet with this cross as the center pease of it Im thinking it should only be a matter of figureing enough cordage to contenue Braiding from here or even start out the braid on the flat as I often do & then turn it into a box braid to form the Cross & back to a flat to finish up flat for a wrist band. Hey this is awesome! is there anyway a Star of David can be done???
awesome cross!!! good video!!! nice!!!
Beautiful!
now i've always wondered, how do you singe your ends? do you simply use a lighter under it or what?
Love it. Gonna make 1
very interesting!!!nice job!!
what is the diameter 1/8" or 5/32" ?
thanks
What do I do if I dont have a cord that long? Is there anyway i can tie two cords together without it showing out?
@TyingItAllTogether how long does it take you to create your own not?
What knot did you use to join the long ends that would go around your neck?
At 0:51, is the central focus the exact middle of both cords or some other point? I need to know because I'm making one of these for my girlfriend and I don't want to mess it up.
awesome! please make more cross stuff :)
Ok so u have like all this amazing rope/paracord umm where do u get it or who supplies u?? jw cuz i can never find colored paracord =P lol
can you use yarn to make these? i want to make some but, there is no paracord currently
Awesome Video. !
Pretty cool knot, but how much chord if you are not making it a necklace?
