  • An #automatic_transfer_switch (#ATS) transfers power supply from its primary source to a backup source automatically, when it senses failure in the primary source.
When a failure occurs in the primary power system, #automatic_changeover_switch invokes the backup source which is a #single_phase_generator here, to run electrical equipment until utility power is restored.
#Changeover_switch needs to be properly designed and wired to the primary and backup power sources correctly.
It must communicate effectively with both power sources to switch power, and will connect the equipment to the proper power source with a minimum delay period.
