Unless he's in a freezer so it doesn't start melting, then I'll be impressed. That and if the stacks underneath were really stacked instead of the spacing so the domino effect doesn't happen.

Not sure if that's true - a lot of the breaking competition show people trying and failing to get past the first few layers of whatever material is used. Anyway if it's that easy everyone would be filming themselves doing this...

Actualy, the black belt only breaks the first ice bar. The others bars goes breaking with the weight of those that are falling from the top to down. It's all a chain reaction. That's the trick.

Physics at work. It's length of the ice combined with the spacers that makes this possible. Only the first one breaks under the impact of the blow... the rest breaks under the momentum of the first.
Take only one of those ice bricks, keep the thickness the same but saw it in half... now try again.

It is a physics trick. The top ice block's center is the weak point. The smash hits the rails after the crack and all the kinetic force travels down the outside in a V pattern splitting the rest of the ice blocks below the top rail. Yes it requires a strong hit, but the rest is an illusion of power as the kinetic force does not travel down the center through air.
