I remember the story about the scarf, they gave the scarf'd creator tons of yarn to choose from but the person used it all! Apparently my dad had watched him as a child and loved him too
Yep. They found it so hilarious, they just said.. let's use it. And so they did. It has become pretty iconic. If you ask anyone over the age of lets say 40, if they can name any Doctor, they'd probably say Tom Baker.
and the 6th's coat as well.
I think Beginner and Advanced are my favorite. Beginner has a beautiful simplicity and Advanced hits that perfect sweetspot where it's complex without feeling cluttered.
Only problem is I couldn't play either of them XD

alan smithee Well the original original, if you know what I mean, was written for very early forms of synthesiser used in the BBC Radiophonic workshop.
There are more colours on the "Full Band" schema than on the Sixth Doctor's long frockcoat.

My mom is a die-hard doctor who fan, so much that when I played the last one for her, she still guessed what it was correctly, she didn't even realize it was being played backwards.
These are all great, but they're different. Yes, I know, they're obviously different, but I mean they're from different doctors. Some of them were Matt Smith's theme, there was a bit of David Tennant and Cristopher Eccleston, a little Peter Capaldi and even one which I think went right back to William Hartnell. Brilliant video, but each one is modelled on a slightly different version of the tune.
Which ones are which? I really like all of them

So from about the 4 minute mark onwards are you expected to detach the fingers from your left hand or something? It sounds nice but it looks physically impossible to play unless this is intended to for two players.

Intermediate Beginner was harder than advanced too. Partially because most of the notes are too low to play on a normal piano.

Just saying, I'm a professional pianist, and your arrangements for Intermediate advanced and onwards are physically impossible. And this is coming from a guy who has been playing piano for over 16 years. I can stretch my fingers 11 notes on a piano keyboard, and your arrangement goes far past that. I'm not saying they are bad or anything, but from intermediate advanced onwards, you should have labelled them as scored for four hands (i.e. two people playing them at once)

The levels of difficulty doesn't just rely on how many notes are being used... There's tempo, volume, rhythm, and a bunch of other things I can't name at the top of my head.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the skill required to do this, but you're missing a helluva lot of notes that are integral to the base melody.
Try playing those notes with 2 hands on a piano an then come back when you successfully have done that
Not talking about playing with two hands, as there's no way two hand let alone two people could play this song in it's entirety as presented in the video. I'm just saying the very basic 'can play with one hand' melody is not entirely correct.

Omg what's with all the negativity. This video is very informative and entertaining.of course you cant play this "arrangement" on a classic piano. Noone can. This is an example of midi sequencing, keyboard over view of course. Damn, take it for what it is. Even midi sequenced this is incredible. I like the progressed versions from simple sequence to extremely in depth. I dont think I ever witnessed simultaneous 16 note sequencing before. This was pretty amazing. Regardless this theme could be hummed on a kazoo and I would still be entertained by it. Propabably one of the best program intro scores ever created.

Dylan Morrison an intermediate beginner is a slightly better beginner, but an beginner intermediate is a just starting out intermediate. The first word describes the second.

OK, so here I can imagine I'm not the only one that cried when Doctor Who was taken off of Netflix? I was on season 4 ep. 14 and I didn't get to finish! I went to pick up where I left off (like 2 seconds in) the next day, February 1st, and it wasn't there and I had a mental breakdown.
