16:16 the final 9 selection was PURELY global votes. Its why you might often see online, "we made this group"/"we made the perfect group", because we literally did. The final selection was LIVE, so we had a period of time to vote before time was up.
1:42 yeah! All of them became really good friends, so you can imagine how eliminations went. A lot of tears, especially during the final lineup announcement 😭😭
33:01 yeah they're very cautious about this, not only in zb1 but in korea in general. Minors in kpop have a curfew, meaning they can't work after a certain time. We've not seen the company make the group have a mature concept (not yet anyway). ZB1's concept is rather fresh and innocent anyway.
Your reaction to Yujin being so young is completely valid. I remember it was a lot of mixed reactions to him debuting. I was very concerned, as were a lot of ZB1 fans. It seems like the older members really take care of him well, which is reassuring. So far, they haven’t had any choreography that would raise eyebrows for him, but I do still worry about him being exploited since he’s so young.
So how survival shows like Boys Planet works is, they bring in a massive amount of trainees from different companies and countries and essentially have them compete for a chance to debut in a temporary group (meaning they'll only promote for a few years). There's usually several rounds of "Missions" or performances the guys will do in front of a live audience. They're broken up in to groups and have to prepare a song (ex, first performance is a vs battle. Meaning 2 groups of guys will perform the same song and the audience votes who they liked best), the winning performance those members get bonus votes added to their overall votes. Throughout the show, viewers are also voting who they like best. So after each "Mission" there's an elimination and each time, roughly half the guys get eliminated, like of the original 98 guys, only 52 survive to the next round. Then it keeps getting cut until you have the final 9. So the group is essentially formed completely based on viewer votes. They have "mentors" on the show to help judge, teach, and critique the trainees vocal, Rap, and Dance but the mentors feedback doesn't go towards getting picked for the group.
17:27, so there's no overall rule saying kpop idols or trainees can't have tattoos. It's more of a Korean TV broadcast rule. I believe it stems from the old beliefs of tattoos being affiliated with gangs so most TV broadcast stations don't allow tattoos to be shown (this applies to anyone appearing on TV, not just idols) so anyone with tattoos often have to get it covered with tape or blurred out when appearing on a broadcasted show.
Thank you for reacting to zb1😊 zhang hao also has special violin stage at mama stage. Zb1 gonna have so many schedule at la this july. I think july 25? At grammy show? Also zb1 gonna attend kcon la, they also gonna have five stages and there are cover stages etc.
They have many amazing live performances from award shows to watch and this month hanbin will be studio choom artist of the month🎉 I hope you have fun getting too know them!! Hao is my bias but they’re all so lovable
This guid is pretty outdated & lose so many details & main points but thank you for reacting, And zhang hao is the first none korean center in mnet survival show histroy.
True. It is a bit older. But I think it's still a decent starter guide since it's short and gives you an introduction to ZB1 without overwhelming you. Hopefully he will react to a longer more detailed one too once he's ready :)

7:26 That's right, he ranked first and is the first foreigner to do so on Mnet's survival show 😊
4:08 we don't know their sexuality, and we can't assume anything until they say something. Let's just appreciate them for their music and talent🥰

Ricky and Hao are Chinese, Matthew is Canadian, so you basically like ZB1's global line! their trio is called globalz ^^
Ricky is not only beautiful, he has a very fun and cute personality ❤
Idols can have tattoos but they have to paste stickers (hide it) on it when they are performing on certain shows due to censorship
