Always good to hear Bo The Drifter back in the musical rotation. Did his Old Dirt Road while busking last night in White River Jct. Thanks for turning me on to him!
@@nathanclark4674 No “shows” per say, just open mics in the area, an occasional gig (all outside these CoVid days) at local restaurants, First Friday in WRJCT…that sort of thing. Nice to hear from a fellow VT’er.
In-creek release :-) you had a couple minutes of awesome excitement and now that brown is back safely at the bottom of the creek. He'll be there next time and maybe he'll be hungry. Well done.
Beautiful little stream and truly gorgeous browns! Two out of three? Hey, that’s a .667 batting average - Hall of Fame numbers! Really great production values, and they keep on getting better. You’ll get to that 100k subscriber level! Keep up the great work!
As a kid, I had this fly fishing book I looked at all the time. It had a beautiful brown on the cover just like the one you caught. Awesome looking fish.
Nice browns in that beautiful creek. I don't mind losing trout anymore. I am satisfied to have them on and most cases happy they are still swimming without me having to handle them.
I agree! It depends on the amount of fish I'm catching though. If I think I'll only get a few chances I for sure want to land them all. If I'm brookie fishing and I might get 50 then I'm less worried about it. Thanks for watching!
Good video again sir love the brownies in Scotland you want to be on the rivers day or two after big floods when water has just a little bit of colour in it at this time of year the fish are on the minnows big time you can catch some very big fish and get lots of sport
Look like the same fish a friend and I caught in that stretch in March possibly both from the same holes first fish you landed was definitely in that run. Also every time you switched your rod position back and forth fighting that fish it changes the angle of the line which can cause you to lose some tension or cause the fly to move around popping free or enlarging the hole a bit. Notice how it came out as soon as you changed the angle.
Really enjoyed the video. I'm a Salmon and Trout Guide in Iceland. Just a quick tip, try to keep s high rodtip instead of going sideways, you will loose way less fish, because the rod absorbes the headshakes better. And maybe try to fight the wish with less preassure, take it easy! :) Keep the cool content coming!!
I have never done well catching fish when the barometric pressure was high, that was interesting. Big fish will break your heart, happens to us all. Loved the video and the intro music. Stay safe. 👍👍👍
Nicely done with the "Ida Browns" man.🙂👍 I think that female that was "camera shy" knew what was up and wanted to bail to some place for shelter. 😁 All in all tho, anutha great vid, and yeah, it'd be TOTALLY cool to after "THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY"....can't ever give up on those cuz they have such a feeling of satisfaction when ya catch em. Please keep these comin bro. Peace ✌😎
Keep it up brother, love you and your brothers content, born and raised in WV but live in NJ now…my brothers, father and me still get out to fly fish whenever we can!
I missed 3 -18" to 20" rainbows in the north fork of the Cache La Poudre outside of Fort Collins Colorado. 2 of them broke the line and 1 was a crappy knot. Tough to lose them but i must be doing something right cause I had them hooked. Oh well! Tight lines Hardman!
Good stuff man ! Would have been nice to land that first one , but probably didn’t have a good hook set on him! Other than that a couple of nice browns in the net ! I’ll double up and rip streamers and also nymph the same run ! Last week nymphing won out , although love catching em on streamers! Love your videos buddy! Tight lines
Thank you! In this video I was just using a 9 foot 5 wt which works fine for these small creeks as long as you aren't catching anything over 20ish inches.
I honestly don't know the name of this fly line. It was a scientific angler line that I got about a year ago. I never buy cheap fly line because it's usually worth every penny to get the better stuff.
@@hardmanfishing FACTS!!! I use the SA anadro and the SA titan long for my floating lines! And airflo streamer max’ always use a size or size 1/2 bigger to help for turn over and roll cast
Been watching for a while. Fish NC and am curious about the shoes yall wear when wet Wading? The rocks seem way more slippery than usual this year.. I haven't found anything I'm loving since they redesigned the RipRap. TIA
Honestly with super slippery rocks there is nothing better than felt wading boots. It works the best out of anything I've used. But In a lot of my videos I have boots with VIbram rubber as the bottom and it's not horrible. In this video I was using my ultra light wading boots from Simms just because I like how little they weigh
@@hardmanfishing I noticed on a couple videos you & your brother (?) Were wearing what appeared to be sneakers. As a matter of fact your brother's were orange in one video. I may just get some ultra lite simms but was looking at options.
Fishing in all kinds of weather conditions ! Definitely dedication, enjoyment and maybe a loss of a braincell or two along the way ... that's why you do it ! 😂👍
Great video! I watched your Walmart fly fishing video and I got those rod and reels, I got a tapered leader (4x) and tippet (5x), should I add some tippet to the leader just to make sure the fly isn’t seen? I’m brand new to fly fishing and not sure
Nope the leader is fine!! You really only need tippet if you're connecting another fly (so 2 flies in total) to your rig. The leaders are tapered so that you don't have to add extra line.
This is amazing!! Mostly because my dad watches these shows so I know exactly what you're talking about. The Brown trout were actually put there by ancient aliens.
You keep losing fish because your applying side pressure down stream. Apply your side pressure up stream. Keep your rod tip high. There is no need to keep dancing your rod tip left and right, this is why you lost that first fish. Lead the fish head first I to the current. Rod tip high!
I understand this but in shallow water it is tough to keep their head under water and I lost a lot of fish due to them jumping. I think it is a fine balance that I can get better at, but also doesn't work from blanket statement. Also if I'm being honest I'd rather lose the 15's than the 20's hahahaha tight lines!
I will when they stock again, I'd just rather not keep wild trout. Not because it is necessarily a bad thing to do every now and again, but because I don't want to send the wrong message.
Lol..the one that got away is/was always the biggest...great episode! 🤘

Great job...Did the brown throw the fly or break the tippet?...You did fool that giant and it took your presentation...major accomplishment...
It threw the hook! I'm sure the fish is sitting right back under that rock.

What materials do you use for your dungeon streamers? Like what size hooks colour hackle and size dumbbell eyes
Really nice fish! Stay safe!!!

3wt rod with 5WFF line?
What weight of fly rod do you have in this version video? I am just getting in to fly fishing and it seemed about right for me
U deserved a sub
Do you tie your own flies and have any tutorials to make them streamers. Class looking brown trout you have in USA btw
No I do not, but I may have some fly tying type videos in the future! And thank you!
Fishing in all kinds of weather conditions ! Definitely dedication, enjoyment and maybe a loss of a braincell or two along the way ... that's why you do it ! 😂👍
You aren't wrong!!!!!
Good work. Why did you fish up stream vs swinging down? I guess bc it was slow current?
I almost always fish upstream
In America are the brown trout residential fish (do they remain in the rivers all year round) or do they migrate out to sea

Welcome to the channel! And yes I've had that Risen rod for about a year now. I have a few of their rods actually
Great content as always. What was your rig set up for this trip?
Just 5 feet of 12 pound floro straight to the streamer. Super simple!
Were you using a sinking tip or polyleader fishing streamers in that small creek?
Nope, just regular floating line.
3:17 I have been there too many times man.... im so sorry for that one
Indonesia is here
Sounds like streamer conditions lol
there is a song from meatloaf. 2 outa 3 aint bad, healthy browns forever!

Are you based in VA?

Is that a hardman fishing adventures net I see 🤔 I would be interested in getting one 👍
Yes it is, but its custom. We don't actually sell them unfortunately
I love fishing but I always wanted to try fly fishing

@@hardmanfishing WE, say yes!
What wt setup do you use for streamers?
On this day I was using a 5 wt, although I normally like something a bit heavier
What rod were you using?
Risen Genesis! 9 foot 5 wt
Is your GoPro mount on your chest or head?
Chest
Do these fish live here or are they there to spawn
They live there as far as I know, although I'm sure there is some sort of spawning migration as well.
What should you have done not to lose the first fish?
Get a better hook set, that's about it. I didn't play the fish poorly (at least not in my opinion)
It's better to have loved and lost than not loved it all I mean hooked up and lost then not hooked up at all
Words to live by
What’s the name of the song?
First
You keep losing fish because your applying side pressure down stream. Apply your side pressure up stream. Keep your rod tip high. There is no need to keep dancing your rod tip left and right, this is why you lost that first fish. Lead the fish head first I to the current. Rod tip high!

How come you don't do catch clean cook vids? I get it, 95% we let go. But now and again, it's great to eat 1 or 2. I love wild trout.
I will when they stock again, I'd just rather not keep wild trout. Not because it is necessarily a bad thing to do every now and again, but because I don't want to send the wrong message.
Isn’t it funny how we can catch hundreds or thousands of fish and still when we lose a decent one, it’s a travesty.
Usually happens when you take that angle with that pressure 😂
You would get so much more views if you just. Catch and cooked them
You playing fish to long lol , you lost it because of that
If you can't cope with losing a trout without throwing a tantrum find something else to do.
