My latest selection of turkey pot calls include some from David Halloran

- In this short video I show the pot calls I'll be using this season. I'm trying different surfaces and sound boards from standard slate to crystal over slate and aluminum and even an anodized aluminum call. The three new ones I got are from David Halloran. They look as good as they sound and the craftsmanship is first class just like you'd expect from a hand made one at a time call.

This was my first year using David's calls. The metal mouth 2 killed four birds. That thing is crazy. I had hens a few ft away looking at the bush I was in talking back to me on more than one occasion. I'd like to order a box call from him. Which one do you suggest?
@@southeastwhitetails Purple Heart cedar is a good loud raspy call that has a great roll over. The other I have is the ebony over walnut . It’s good and raspy but not as loud. It also will play on the softer side for a box call as well.

My first time turkey hunting is in a few weeks. I picked up a crystal/slate pot from millcreek valley. Crystal on top and slate on bottom

You most of rocked the woods with Metal mouth! The that call my favorite of all times until I picked up the Halloran Hen this year! That call going to kill a lot of birds this year and the metal mouth has killed tons of birds if everyone experiences has been anything like mine!
Thanks for the comment. Yeah the metal mouth killed 4 birds last year. I've never had a call that sounds so good both loud and soft. It even worked to call to some hens that cut off one of the gobblers and brought them in within 3 feet of me with him following them about 25 feet behind. I hope you have a great turkey season this year.
Thanks brother, I had a similar season in 2020 with the metal mouth on heavy hunted state land. I’ve been buying David’s calls since 2005 and he’s a great craftsman and turkey hunter. I picked up two of his mouth calls this year and was impressed with them as well.
I just saw the metal mouth I think I’ll pick up one of his calls
