    Your plan makes sense. You will never regret being available to support your elderly parents. I am curious if those expensive Michelin Star French Restaurant dinners are really worth the splurge? Let us know if you find out.

      Agreed! I know this is where we are supposed to be right now. France will still be there waiting for us. The only Michelin Star restaurant we've been to is Jules Verne and it is really hard to say if it was worth it or not because it is such an iconic place, with magnificent views of the city. We are not that much of foodies to spend so much money on a meal on a regular basis. It's all about priorities, and we have other areas of interest where we would much prefer to spend the money. However, if money is not an issue then that's a whole different story, but that is not the case with us 😊

    Bonjour guys! Thank you again for a parfait video. A lovely tradition! I had not been able to watch all your videos and wasn't sure where you were living, Nice, Paris? But my husband and I are a little older and have settled on the fact that short term renting (not buying) a suitable (large) apt in Paris works for us. Our phrase is "twenty years younger" meaning buying, fixing, furnishing establishing in Paris vs. now would have been more feasible. We will do this as long as knees and hips hold up! Love watching how you walk through life.🥐🥐🥐

    Looks very interesting. Some of the mixes appear to have a local twist, in terms of the mix and quantity. I lived in Brittany for more than 20 years. Crepes originate from that region. Savoury crêpes are traditionally called "galettes" and made with Sarrasin flour, whereas sweet crêpes are made with white flour. Last but not least, galettes, thus with a filling, often have their edges folded over and are served square, probably a practical measure of keeping the contents inside and warmer for longer.

    • @kjandtonylovefrance
      @kjandtonylovefrance  2 місяці тому

      If that's the case, I did have a galette when we were in Nice in February. But I didn't really care for it. This crepe, I loved!

    Looks like Maison Martinique is a little gem. I agree the food looked delicious and the place very elegant and cozy. So beautiful that you’ve been going out with your precious parents and enjoying meals together. You are so fortunate to have them in your life. You mentioned in the comments that you have both gone back to working full-time. I was under the impression that Tony was retired and that KJ had stopped working from your therapy jobs. I’m wondering did you go back to the same job that you were doing before or is this something new? And why did you decide to go back to work? I ask this because you are sharing your journeys with us and we are interested in knowing more about the twists and turns of your journey. Thank you.

      Hi there! Yes, Maison Martinique is wonderful and we can't wait to go back. And yes, we are very fortunate to have my parents in our lives and to live so close to them now. As for us working full-time. Tony is, for all intents and purposes, officially retired but he does still do therapy and is quite busy. I also do therapy and work for a company called NOCD, helping people with OCD and other anxiety disorders. We are working because we bought our house here in Vero Beach and plan to travel back and forth to France quarterly. We both work online so we can work from anywhere. I'm still too young to retire, so we'll see what happens in a few years from now. We'll be posting an update video about what we've been up to and what lies ahead in the future in the coming weeks. Thank you for asking and let me know if I can answer anything else for you. Can you tell us more about you? I hope you are having a great day!

      @@kjandtonylovefrance Hello! Thank you for the detailed reply. I guess that the upside of you both going back to work is that you have gone back to providing a very important service in helping those who are in terrible need to recover from mental/substance abuse disorders. This is meritorious. About us: My husband is retired and I’m a homemaker. We have been traveling around the world pretty much since when you two moved to France. It’s always been a lifelong dream of mine to live in France. That’s why I have been following your journey along closely and am very appreciative of you sharing so much about your trials and errors. It is not an easy step for sure to move to a foreign country without our family members. But we are going to give it a go hopefully next year. Meanwhile we wish you all of the best. Seems like you’re very happy in Vero Beach near your loved ones and that’s precious!!

    Omg, I can’t believe you haven’t had a crepe from one of the crepe shacks on the streets in Paris. You must have a jambon/fromage crepe. Delicieux!

      I know!! We have passed by them so many times, but it was never at a time when I was hungry enough. I'm definitely going to try one when we are back in Paris in Oct/Nov.

      @@kjandtonylovefrance I highly recommend trying the crepes at Cafe Breizh, at 1 Rue de l"Odeon (I think this is their main location). Because we were in Paris when strawberries were in season, we had their strawberry crepe, which was delicious. They also have savory crepes.

    You felt you were transported back in France? You will not find crepes like that in France. Maybe if you are lucky in France they may throw a few berries on the crepe but these are definitely for the American insatiable taste buds.
    Did they have peanut butter and jelly crepes with crushed Oreo cookie?

    • @kjandtonylovefrance
      @kjandtonylovefrance  2 місяці тому

      I don't believe that to be true. And no, they did not have PBJ crepes. I included the menu in the video.

    Nice video and love that you are so kind to your parents. One thing though, pleeeease learn how to say bonjour properly. You need some work on that. when saying the french vowels you need to move your mouth properly. A tutor used to teaching pronunciation can help.

    • @kjandtonylovefrance
      @kjandtonylovefrance  2 місяці тому

      Merci, Sheila. We know, our pronunciation is awful. I've been using Pimsleur and it's been very helpful because it sounds out the words, which helps with pronunciation. I feel like it is keeping me (KJ) moving forward with learning the language.

    I agree with dsch, motto here is ths, never have unfinished business with your folks. You wont be one of those children who are haunted for the rest of your lives because you did not take care of them when they needed you. Your folks look great, enjoy them. You will not get this time back.
