Yes I agree with you! I have mixed feelings about these episodes. I did enjoy them but episodes 11 and 12 were my least favorite. I also didn't like how Cuphead and Mugman fought in like every episode. Cuphead was being such a jerk to him for no reason and I hated to see that. If he doesn't get any character development after that cliffhanger, I'm gonna be so upset
@@pikasheep I definitely feel like he will. Like you said, Cuphead was being a jerk constantly and didn't think of Mugman's feelings most of all, in almost every situation. And he only FINALLY listens to Mugman when his ideas backfire and he was wrong about something (but was too stubborn to say it outright most of the time.) But when the Devil kidnaps Mugman in the final episode, I'd imagine that Cuphead had an "Oh shit, what have I done" moment. Him being frozen in place with that expression says it all. A lot of things that Cuphead does puts them both in danger, and as Mugman says, he has to do the worrying for him because Cuphead doesn't care. As a result, he took Mugman for granted and now he's in the Devil's hands. They're torn apart, and who knows what's gonna happen to him? Personally the only episode I didn’t like was the 11th one. The episode revolves about cuphead and mugman fighting and elder k. wanting to take a picture but they don’t change throughout the episode and at the end it shows continuity that cuphead and mugman were wanted for escaping prison in the first episode and they get arrested again but in the next episode it just goes back to normal with no context. The episodes with the devil, especially the last one, were absolute bangers. I feel like episodes with the devil are much funnier and better overall, but that may be just me ig.

Overall I actually prefer season 1 cause at least it was more consistent with the characters. There were still some episodes that were better than season 1 but there were also some that were worse. Also the finale is kinda brought down by the fact that Cuphead and Mugman were both fine with each other dying earlier in the season. Which is a shame cause I was really in suspense until I remembered that.
The thing I didn't like about the new season in the show is the repetitive jokes, the first season was full of charming jokes And the second one some of the jokes are annoying and stale
I personally didn’t like most of this season because of the writing, a lot of it recycled the same plot line of “cuphead does something impulsive and mug,an gets mad at him for it”, with cuphead half learning the lesson but immediately forgetting it upon the release of the next episode and completely defeating the point. Cuphead’s writing also seemed to take a downturn, with him being completely braindead in some moments, there’s a difference between “looney tunes -esque” stupidity and “stupidity that exists sheerly to drive the plot forward in the most obvious and nonsensical way” This second season also had the bad habit of episode endings not making any sense, the biggest example for me being the candy world ending, where the cliff hanger of “how do we stop being candy” is left completely unanswered and thrown away without presenting how it was ACTUALLY solved. That ending was literally worthy and required a “part 2” for a solution, but instead it’s completely discarded to shove another set piece at us and appeal to more references to the game without actually DOING anything with those references It was really a shame, especially considering season 1 had great continuity between episodes, and episodes that didn’t link to other ones had self contained stories that didn’t have nonsensical endings. The episodes I ended up liking were the Mrs. Chalice episodes, the Cali Mara episode, and the werman episode (even if the “teleportation” moments for that episode kind of killed a lot of the narrative tension and drove me out of the story). The ice cream man episode wasn’t half bad either, but it felt too short and didn’t really go anywhere.
The entire show was finished writing, boarding, and most of pre-production well before the series ever aired so it wasn't "fan feedback" that affected anything. The reality is that many of the episodes in season 2 were meant to be in season 1 but were rearranged by Netflix (not the show staff) AFTER the fact. So what was intended to be a strong season 1 was split up between 1 & 2.
IDC if I get hate for this But cuphead (the character not the game) was just so insufferable and narcissistic during season 2 But before I get down to ten reasons, I’d say in episode 3 at the end, when cuphead fell of the ship, I’d say that serves him right for nearly getting his brother killed, and straight up giving up when they crash landed, anyway, more reason to come. He legit agreed to replace his own brother, and also calling mugman lame and boring in the process In episode 5 he ate mugman’s Halloween candy which he uses to calm down, and near the end, when mugman was like ‘go without me cuphead’ Cuphead literally took him seriously and almost left without him In episode 7, he was kind of a jerk after he basically stole mugman’s chance of winning $10,000, and I wouldn’t blame mugsy for killing his own brother with a giant piano, not just for that reason, but the stuff he did during season 1 aswell In episode 12, he just kept ignoring his firewood chore and kept launching fireworks, he even Launched the only compass he had, therefore getting himself and mugman lost in the woods, HE EVEN LAUNCHED HIS OWN BROTHER AT THE END! HE COULD GET KILLED JUST LIKE HOW BOWLBOY DIED! Anyway In episode 13, he didn’t appreciate mugman’s bike mutation, but the only reason why cuphead likes it, is so mugman can do all the pedalling, and cuphead sits back and doesn’t do anything just to be lazy What I am trying to say is Cuphead (the character) is the worst character from the cuphead show
I noticed this stuff too. He seemed a lot meaner this season. But with more focus put on Mugman this season, I'm hoping that this has all happened for the first couple of episodes in season 3. Maybe Cuphead will realise how rude he's been and will try to change for the better and apologize to Mugman
@@UnleashTheGhouls I just hope when season 3 comes out They better not make cuphead worse And I need more mugman only episodes I loved episode 6 of season 2
Am I the only one that is concerned about how mugman almost immediately after almost getting eaten by Cali was fantasizing about her.... Also that we had back to back female boss appearances and both wanted to eat the cups..... I'm just noticing a pattern here.....
OMG I NOTICED THAT TOO!? I personally hated this season. It was so disturbing and they made cup-head and mug-man fight wayyyy too much. And is it just me or does mug man feel stricter-…? Also most of the characters act like psychopaths out of nowhere? Like yeah we get your upset about something but don’t act like you just escaped an insane asylum-….
Oh not only that but the devil got little to no screen time too. Like he’s the main focus of the show / game. Why would there be a soul limit when he’s the fucking devil? Like hello? Ruler of hell???
Not to mention they was both the most shipped characters lol. Honestly I don't mind this tho since Mugman and them are kids and we known the bosses as monsters. People like salt baker might be the same if he does get into this show.
@@v1ckzz ok I do agree that the mugman and Cuphead fighting was getting annoying but I just understood they are just being dumb ass kids, Mugman being stricter is honestly better...to me the last season he didn't really have any personality and it seemed like he was gonna be to much of a responsibility type guy, and for the last part I'm pretty sure they are trying to give adults fun since Alot of insane shit happened since I was saying while watching the endings got more darker and darker
@@v1ckzz I'm pretty sure the devil is gonna have way more screen time in season 3 then ever since how this ended. I think this season focus on the cup bros new interaction on more people and knowing their personality more. The soul limit was a surprise to me but lore ig
honestly S2 for me was a slight improvement like I noticed that in this season is that the show somehow adds a bit of a dark humor which i genuinely love Although this season has a bit of an issue wherein some episodes are weak or not really that memorable like episodes 11 and 12 I can excuse some of the episodes not continuing the previous one since the Cuphead show's format is episodic while some are serialized but not completely Overall it is definitely a slight improvement for the show wherein the humor approach is slightly better but i think it can still improve on future seasons and almost all of the episodes are excellent to rewatch
Honestly I didn't like season 2 very much. Season 1 was my comfort show because it was really cute and wholesome. I felt comfortable and at ease watching it. Season 2 really just took a really dark turn and wasn't as wholesome. I know some people liked the dark humor, but it just caught me off guard since season 1 was a lot cuter. I found Cuphead really annoying and just not as likable like as in season 1. The whole season he just kind of treats Mugman like trash and all they do is argue. (He literally got mad at Mugman for not letting him launch himself off a cliff. Like what?? Mugman was just trying to keep him safe, but instead he calls him lame and replaces him with Bowlboy knowing that Mugman dislikes him.) Even after he apologizes, Cuphead keeps treating him wrong. Hopefully in season 3 he really appreciates Mugsy more because honestly, he's a really great brother. There were some cool episodes like "The I Scream Man" where Mugsy got more screen time, but in general, I preferred season 1.
I feel the same way. The story telling is much more complex in season 2 which I appreicate but It seems like mugman is going forwards cuphead backwards. I LOVED the brotherly dynamic. It felt wholesome and realistic with them but the arguing wasn't as much of a strain. Season 2 is just depressing me because Mugman clearly cares for his brother while Cupheads become a bit of a jerk. I liked his character in season 1. I hope that the ending of this season was setting cuphead up for serious development, after Mugman was kidnapped. I'm praying this is an actual eye opener for Cuphead and he realizes what a jerk hes been.
Season 2 was a lot better. Episode 12 was the worst tho. Cuphead was really awful there. He never lears his lesson while Mugman does go through some growing. Calamaria was great tho a lot more evil than expected, Briney was a lot nicer than expected. Chalice is a great character, she brings in a great dynamic with Cuphead and Mugman that really helps when those 2 get old. She could have been used more. Elder Kettle was improved a lot. King Dice is still funny, but also kind of a dumbass. The Devil could have been used a lot more as well, he still is funny. Overall, is nice that they are improving things. I also noticed they dont use music from the game and instead sone remixes, which is cool but unnesesary.
What about mugman I’d say I feel sorry for him, he has to put up with Cuphead almost getting themselves killed, and I was actually glad he got an actual episode to himself (episode 6 of season 2) cuphead barely got any screen time, so mugsy finally got the attention he deserves, so I’d say he sorta improved
If I'm gonna be honest I didn't really like this season 🤷🏽♂️ it just felt so boring and repetitive to me they kept reusing repetitive jokes and they kept on using the same format and set up for like what a sixth of the episodes? I also wanted more bosses to be introduced. Overall 6/10 charming on its own but definitely not a step up from season 1.
-I don't really know how to feel after watching this season, there's some great episodes but they still standing with those repeating jokes... and Cuphead is a total jerk, I wanted to puch him at the firewood episode.
I find it annoying when people who criticize this show in the comments complain about the plot when they don't understand the intentions of shows style, the plot doesn't need to have a stranger things level plot lol, and again with the complaints of it not being fully hand drawn. People are acting like its easy to hand draw a whole show
I guess I agree for the most part but it's pretty clear that they're still on and off with if they want a cohesive overarching narrative. It's pretty evident how they keep on ending the seasons with cliffhangers
Again dawg the source material was completely hand drawn and crispy as fuck, this show is just another terrible kids show with awful writing that is somehow targeted to young adults who played the games but minus the charm and artistic style
@@mattcleary9522 Do you know how fucking long each season would take when it came to hand drawn animation? Like literally years worth. The show runners are working with what they got. Plus y'all didn't say shit about the new Mickey Moise shorts that are supposed to be rubberhose but are also digitally animated and tweanedt
Although I agree, it doesn’t need to have a stranger things level plot, there are some holes that cause confusion like how Cuphead and Mugman got turned back to normal after being eaten by Elder Kettle?
Loved this 2nd season. Like I don’t think I’ve ever laughed out loud for this show. So ma y great episodes, great references to the bosses from the game, and I didn’t expect so many more bosses to make cameos or have main roles in a episode. The animation got so much more better and you can tell from the characters alone from the way they are talking that it has improved. If I had to nitpick or bring out something negative, Cuphead was annoying in like 1 or maybe 2 episodes this season but overall, season 2 was great.
Wasn't a fan of Cala Maria's voice, kinda imagined something more cartoonish and sinister/ crazed in Medusa form. As for Baroness...didn't imagine her being as crazy, but they did the thing.
To me, I actually didn’t like season 2 as much. This season didn’t exactly disappoint, but it wasn’t noteworthy either (except High Seas Adventure). I thought some of the episodes were forgettable (such as Piano Lesson). None of them, imo, were as good or funny as ANY season 1 episode (except, of course, High Seas Adventure). Like, can you name ANY season 2 line that could rival the iconic “Take it off and I’ll give you 10 bucks”, “It’s not a baby! It’s evil!” or even “I’ll get the shovels”? I think that the crew was rushed into season 2. By the time season 1 came, they only had 6 months to finish this season, whilst in season 1 they had around 2 whole years after it was announced. Sure, they were possibly working on season 2 at the same time as season 1, but animation takes a long time and a lot of those 6 months were probably spent more in animation than in writing.
for a iconic episode, the i scream man episode or the demons episode. A scene that’s amazing is Mugman fucking losing it over the ice cream man spoiling the end of the book he was reading in the episode
@@kal2886 Yeah, those episodes and that moment was good. I thought I Scream Man was about as good as a low tier season 1 episode, and Release The Demons was just as good as Roll The Dice. But still not an iconic line
A very interesting take Stephanie! And a great idea! I think it suited because Cala Maria is a play on calamari, which is a Mediterranean dish, and the voice actor Natasia Demetriou is of Greek-Cypriot descent, so that fit to me why she would have a Greek style accent!
@@UnleashTheGhouls I understand. I just thought Cala sounded too severe and imperious, when that would've fit Bon Bon from the original game, given her royal haughtiness.
Great review! I personally thought Season 2 was about on par with Season 1 in terms of overall quality. However, I would add that Season 2 is less consistent, with the good episodes being extremely good, and the ehh episodes being extremely ehh (though I wouldn't consider any episode of the series "bad" so far).
I was disappointed to not hear any of the bosses’ themes in their own episodes :( Also its not really season two I think since netflix actually ordered all episodes at the same time :d
I heard you weren’t sure of the production behind this season 2 so let me break it down. This season isn’t even season 2 but it’s just season 1. Netflix ordered one season of this show and split the season into two to advertise the not yet released episodes as season 2.
Yeah that was a weird one, as IMDB had this run of episodes down as a continuation of Season 1, but as Netflix listed it as Season 2 Episodes 1-13 I've listed the video as such!
Am I the only one we actually like S2 WAAAAY more better than the 1st season? The 1st one was honestly meh. The off lore type episode was kinda annoying like the baby one and while the jokes was super good the episode itself wasn't. The only good popping episodes was just the devil and king dice ones. THIS SEASON ACTUALLY CHANGED MY VIEW! The devil is actually taken seriously mostly because of that ending, the off-lore/non devil and king dice episodes was actually enjoyable (the piano one was meh although I do like the character), Mugman actually had spotlight Alot of it in this season, the jokes was actually pretty funny and etc
same, season 1 humor was honestly bland, and aside for the the devil ones(devil is a drama queen and i love watch it, the way the brothers act in his episodes is the funnier too), the only episodes i found really funny from start to end were the one were they met the ghosts and the on were elder ketle thinks they wanna kill him. all the others....the best way to say it's they lack salt, the jokes seem like almost a copy paste of the milions modern cartoons and honestly some are painfully anoying and cliche(the broken handle episode is fun, but some jokes feel repetive)they are cool, but i think it misses something season 2 has the dark and crazy type of humor i love, and episode 12 aside(i really don't like this one) i enjoyed all the others, especially the Cala Maria and ice cream man ones. i recognize that cuphead and mugman fighthing is plot repetitive, but i liked the episodes, and since this is tecnically season one part 2, if you watch the episodes of the 2 seasons in mixed order the repetitivitie suddenly disapears, so it's a win to me
They missed the opportunity to make a cuckoo bird clock (or whatever its called) from the episode "Another Brother" a reference to Wally Warbles at the start of his fight in game.
Ok In season 1 and 2 the line that annoyed me the most was “neeee I’m not to worried about it” cuphead isn’t to worried about what ever is going to happen to him and in like 5 seconds everything that could go wrong goes wrong
The only thing I didn’t like was the episode “Lost in the Woods”. It’s not that it’s a weak episode, but Cuphead is such a careless jerk in it, and he learns nothing by the end of the episode.
You speak of two parters, and I agree that sometimes they set themselves up for two parters in season 2 but never deliver; though we could get continuations of these stories in season 3 which I would be ok with. Like how we go straight from the Sugarland episode into the I Scream Man one, and at first I thought we were getting a two parter there on the name alone. And can I just say, I am just so happy that when they bring bosses in as major roles for episodes; and even minor roles like Sally; that they always seem to hit the nail on the head and make the characters amazingly. From the game Bon Bon was one of the more forgettable bosses for me, but after her episode she is a stand out that I will never forget. Speaking of King Dice, I agree he is under utilized but when he does show up he is extremely enjoyable to watch. My only real complaint about the Cuphead Show involves its music and songs. They all seem to end either a verse too soon or abruptly, and for the show thats fine because it fits in with the animation and story. However I really do wish there was a way to hear the songs without that feeling; like with Don't Believe in Ghosts; I so wish to hear it without that abrupt ending, to hear it sung to completion. Season 2 did a lot better in this regard, but the songs from this season werent as memorable with exceptions of the two in Brineybeard and Cala Marias episode.
A few episodes felt like duds but my favorites had to be: A High Seas Adventure, Sweet Temptations, and The I Scream Man. High Seas Adventure- Cala Maria is probably one of my favorite antagonists. It felt like a fun episode. Sweet Tempations- I loved the Baroness the way she talked and how her mannerisms were. She was weird in a charming way unlike how Bowl Boy was portrayed in Another Brother he was weird to the point it got annoying. The I Scream Man- I liked that this focused on Mugman more with other characters without Cuphead's provocation.
Thank you for sharing your honest review Marisa! And on your I Scream Man review, I myself am a Mugman guy, so was glad to see him get up to his own adventures!
Haven't finished the season yet (trying to pace myself this time), but I have to say, while I've loved the show since episode one of season one, my #1 favorite episode has to be the Cala Maria/ Brineybeard episode. Brineybeard was a fun nod to Bluto (just like the game!) and they absolutely NAILED the Cala Maria adaptation, even throwing in a nod the fandom's Mugman shipping. Absolute perfection!
I somehow didnt like that there was less continuity mostly like when they have something in the last episode like a problem it just suddenly fixes beginning of the new episode. Like when they where a cookie and jelly bear. Like i tought oh they are gonna try reverse this and then go on their next adventure. But i loved everything just felt a little southparky i guess like oh lenny dies! Next episode- oh nvm what u saw last episode is not canon. Its better though in cuphead that you can think oh they fixed it and now its just later in time cuz there is continuity there
I personally did like the game bosses their intro's like Werner Werman, Brineybeard, Cala maria and Barones von Bon Bon. There is more dark humor and funny easter eggs in this second part of this season, which i like. If they now can just make the characters not per se develop, but have them stay/become actual characters and have the main 3 cast members stay sympathic and kinda relatable, this show could turn into something even bigger. Also more of the original video game OST or comparable needs to be introduced. I totally loved for an example when in the last episode i heard the Carnival Kerfuffle OST.
The first season was a big disappointment. However the second season had almost everything I wanted to watch in the first season. Animation was still great, the jokes improved, the devil was better used, Calish was funny and, gosh, Mugman truly stole the show. Even when Cuphead started to become a pain in the derrière the end of the season felt like a lesson to the him when the devil took his brother. Man, I can't wait to watch season 3. Good video, dude. Pd. Don't yo have twitter or Instagram?
Maybe its just me but I loved the devil in season 1 and while he was great in season 2 to he was not as amazing and I think he was underused in season 2
Honestly while this looks good. I didn't enjoy the first season enough to make me hyped to watch more. It seem like a good show to watch if you are bored but that's about it. It's not one I'd personally go out of my way to watch.
Season 2 for me was a much more of a adventure season 2 had a bunch of fantastic ideas such as sugar land and high seas adventure and of couse mugman being secretly insane and crazy in the i scream man ep i found so many episodes to be way more funny than season 1 and it definitely potrated cuphead and mugmans personality a lot more, bosses aswell where amazing they picked so many fantastic fan favourites and im very happy with the bosses they chose to include. Overall i think i very much enjoyed the astetic of the 3d backgrounds and music in the show and the fact season 2 was a lot darker than season 1 Thats just my opinion (sorry if i ramble i do that alot)
Season 2 had mostly medorice episodes and cuphead and mugman friendship is ruined. And Also WHY MOST EPISODES THE CHARACTERS GO INSANE OR FOR SOME REASON CREEPY
I absolutely loved every episode mugman was amazing my favorite episode was the I scream man I also liked however was a lot more death in the season like all of the Demons who died surprisingly easily and how mugman literally tried to kill cuphead but kill Ludwig the season was amazing I loved it my least favorite episode was lost in the woods but even that was pretty good so yeah the season was amazing
It takes 8 épisodes, for seeing the devil. 8!!?! I mean, that’s sad. Cup head and mugman are very dumb, humor is very repetitive and annoying. Yes season 2 is better, but doesn’t make it good. I don’t judge, but cuphead is a game for teen and adult. But the show is more for little kids. It’s ok, but the people who will listen the show are the people who actually play the game.
@@mattcleary9522 They were exaggerating. With all due respect, as much as I love and wish we could have some hand-drawn animation in general, there is a reason it's mainly in the past. It is MUCH, MUCH more difficult to do along with a lot more time-consuming. People aren't satisfied either way. People get upset over it "cheap" and "modern", even though this is some of the BEST animation and art we have gotten for newer cartoons (at least imo, the majority of cartoons nowadays have a really bland artstyle and cheap animation), but if they actually did hand-drawn, people would complain about how its taking so long and how it's probably never going to finished.

Yeah the storyline in season 1 was better. It was more wholesome. Cuphead was kinda annoying in season 2.
I wouldn't think about the endings too much. It's an episodic show
The entire show was finished writing, boarding, and most of pre-production well before the series ever aired so it wasn't "fan feedback" that affected anything. The reality is that many of the episodes in season 2 were meant to be in season 1 but were rearranged by Netflix (not the show staff) AFTER the fact. So what was intended to be a strong season 1 was split up between 1 & 2.
Honestly, I kind of like how insane Mugman got in this season, my only complaint is how unlikeable Cuphead is in so many episodes
IDC if I get hate for this
But cuphead (the character not the game) was just so insufferable and narcissistic during season 2
But before I get down to ten reasons, I’d say in episode 3 at the end, when cuphead fell of the ship, I’d say that serves him right for nearly getting his brother killed, and straight up giving up when they crash landed, anyway, more reason to come.
He legit agreed to replace his own brother, and also calling mugman lame and boring in the process
In episode 5 he ate mugman’s Halloween candy which he uses to calm down, and near the end, when mugman was like ‘go without me cuphead’ Cuphead literally took him seriously and almost left without him
In episode 7, he was kind of a jerk after he basically stole mugman’s chance of winning $10,000, and I wouldn’t blame mugsy for killing his own brother with a giant piano, not just for that reason, but the stuff he did during season 1 aswell
In episode 12, he just kept ignoring his firewood chore and kept launching fireworks, he even Launched the only compass he had, therefore getting himself and mugman lost in the woods, HE EVEN LAUNCHED HIS OWN BROTHER AT THE END! HE COULD GET KILLED JUST LIKE HOW BOWLBOY DIED! Anyway
In episode 13, he didn’t appreciate mugman’s bike mutation, but the only reason why cuphead likes it, is so mugman can do all the pedalling, and cuphead sits back and doesn’t do anything just to be lazy
What I am trying to say is
Cuphead (the character) is the worst character from the cuphead show
I noticed this stuff too. He seemed a lot meaner this season. But with more focus put on Mugman this season, I'm hoping that this has all happened for the first couple of episodes in season 3. Maybe Cuphead will realise how rude he's been and will try to change for the better and apologize to Mugman
Are we just gonna forget that Mugman tried to kill his brother multiple times tho?
@@yoku3882 I don’t blame him
That's a really great take! Really enjoyed reading your breakdown here! Thank you for sharing it with us and the Ghoul Gang
@@UnleashTheGhouls I just hope when season 3 comes out
They better not make cuphead worse
And I need more mugman only episodes
I loved episode 6 of season 2
The soul limit was a surprise to me but lore ig
honestly S2 for me was a slight improvement like I noticed that in this season is that the show somehow adds a bit of a dark humor which i genuinely love
Although this season has a bit of an issue wherein some episodes are weak or not really that memorable like episodes 11 and 12
I can excuse some of the episodes not continuing the previous one since the Cuphead show's format is episodic while some are serialized but not completely
Overall it is definitely a slight improvement for the show wherein the humor approach is slightly better but i think it can still improve on future seasons and almost all of the episodes are excellent to rewatch
Thank you for sharing your breakdown Moonsy!
@@EcoHuron yess
What about mugman
I’d say I feel sorry for him, he has to put up with Cuphead almost getting themselves killed, and I was actually glad he got an actual episode to himself (episode 6 of season 2) cuphead barely got any screen time, so mugsy finally got the attention he deserves, so I’d say he sorta improved
Really great breakdown there! Enjoyed reading this one! Thank you for sharing it!
@@LucyLoud_Fan mugman was great, tho yeah I feel bad cuz he got kinda shit on 2 eps in a row (ice cream then piano) abd then that awful ep 12.
@@UnleashTheGhouls your welcome!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts ashura!
@@UnleashTheGhouls hey what can I say? Honesty is the best policy.
@@mattcleary9522 I'm not gonna start an argument but thats fine if thats your opinion
Although I agree, it doesn’t need to have a stranger things level plot, there are some holes that cause confusion like how Cuphead and Mugman got turned back to normal after being eaten by Elder Kettle?
season 2 is a more chaotic type season, every character feels more insane.
And I love that!
@@UnleashTheGhouls same
Yeah they were all too extra
all that chaotic energy 👌
Loved this 2nd season. Like I don’t think I’ve ever laughed out loud for this show. So ma y great episodes, great references to the bosses from the game, and I didn’t expect so many more bosses to make cameos or have main roles in a episode. The animation got so much more better and you can tell from the characters alone from the way they are talking that it has improved.
If I had to nitpick or bring out something negative, Cuphead was annoying in like 1 or maybe 2 episodes this season but overall, season 2 was great.
Thank you for your own honest review Kal!
A really great breakdown of Season 2 Voch! Thank you for sharing it with us and the Ghoul Gang!
The delivery of “The name is werner werman” is a memrorble Line for me
The werner werman episode: *are you challenging me mortal?*
I thought Cala and BonBon's voices should've been switched, given Cala was inspired by the design of Betty Boop.
@@Rosemont104 That very much would have also worked! And would have been a really interesting dynamic for those characters!
Thank you for the king words BigBoi! And thank you for sharing your own thoughts!
I was disappointed to not hear any of the bosses’ themes in their own episodes :(
Also its not really season two I think since netflix actually ordered all episodes at the same time :d
Lovely breakdown Yoku! Thank you for sharing it with the Ghoul Gang!
same, season 1 humor was honestly bland, and aside for the the devil ones(devil is a drama queen and i love watch it, the way the brothers act in his episodes is the funnier too), the only episodes i found really funny from start to end were the one were they met the ghosts and the on were elder ketle thinks they wanna kill him.
all the others....the best way to say it's they lack salt, the jokes seem like almost a copy paste of the milions modern cartoons and honestly some are painfully anoying and cliche(the broken handle episode is fun, but some jokes feel repetive)they are cool, but i think it misses something
season 2 has the dark and crazy type of humor i love, and episode 12 aside(i really don't like this one) i enjoyed all the others, especially the Cala Maria and ice cream man ones.
i recognize that cuphead and mugman fighthing is plot repetitive, but i liked the episodes, and since this is tecnically season one part 2, if you watch the episodes of the 2 seasons in mixed order the repetitivitie suddenly disapears, so it's a win to me
They missed the opportunity to make a cuckoo bird clock (or whatever its called) from the episode "Another Brother" a reference to Wally Warbles at the start of his fight in game.
2:18 my thoughts exactly, she does a wonderful job here
also, one of the best interpretations of Habanera imo
the part where mugman straight up launched at the ice cream man like a fnaf animatronic was epic
I did enjoy this season, but I kind of missed the feeling of watching old cartoons that season one gave me.

Ugh the cuphead and mugman bickering and fighting is so annoying in this show, I hope they lower it next season cause otherwise it was decent
Its better though in cuphead that you can think oh they fixed it and now its just later in time cuz there is continuity there
The show is supposed to be episodic, continuity isn't the main goal unless you count some key episodes (mostly those featuring the devil's schemes)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
The I scream man episode is the best episode in season 2
Loved it, especially the horror elements!
Even though season 2 has more really great episodes. Nothing will ever beat the episode Roll the Dice from season 1.
S1 was tons better, I loved s2 (technically the second half of s1) but just showing slight clips of the first episode are just so smooth and beautiful
Yeah, something tells me we haven’t seen the last of BowlBoy
The first season was a big disappointment. However the second season had almost everything I wanted to watch in the first season. Animation was still great, the jokes improved, the devil was better used, Calish was funny and, gosh, Mugman truly stole the show.
Even when Cuphead started to become a pain in the derrière the end of the season felt like a lesson to the him when the devil took his brother.
