It’s been marvellous seeing the help being sent, the adaptations made, the re-purposing of skills. With all due respect to the 19th century Polish-Lithuanian poet of the same name, but the poetry of THIS Mickevicius here is much more to my liking! As a Pole I'm always honored hearing any words of gratitude to my country and people for helping Ukraine, but considering the limited resources and the size of population of Lithuania, I always bow to their generosity and initiative. Lithuanians are out of this world!
This is such a fantastic idea and a really useful product. These stoves are so lovely and finished so well you would never know their humble origins. A bit like this initiative. We hillbillies in Southeastern Kentucky have fashioned stoves from old truck rims for decades. I like the looks of these. Not only as a source of heat, but you can cook using the top as well. Dual purpose. Many a day have I put a pot of beans onto the top of a wood/coal burning stove so my kids could eat.

This is one of the single coolest things I have ever heard of. Making solid, portable stoves from repurposed junk on volunteer time, stuffing them with very practical survival supplies, and doing it all out of a sense of personal duty. I am truly moved. Too often we forget the need for humanitarian aid when most of the talk is the need for weapons. Even though they're NATO, Lithuania lives next to the bear's den and has a lot of skin in this game due to their history with the Ruz' ancestors. Every one of those stoves is one step further that Putler is away from his evil goal of subjugating the Ukrainian people by cold and hunger.
