yeah! it technically worked, and harry did manage to calm down after that, if he'd allowed it to continue it probably would've only gotten worse; probably not the first time its happened.
There are a few moments where Jules kind of... "mellows" things out between Harry and the precinct, but hearing this one moment where he just tells Harry that he thinks he can do it is everything
I have a history of depression, anxiety and substance abuse and I can't stop laughing at Harry's mental breakdowns. It's all perfectly accurate and I want to show special appreciation to whoever on the ZA/UM team also went through this bullshit. If we can't laugh we'll cry. Uncontrollably. While hyperventilating.
Holy shit I knew the necktie was associated with self-destruction (considering how its knot resembles a noose when you first get it, the fact it tells you to try to run from Garte when he asks for payment, etc.), but I didn't realize it was capable of literally killing Harry after he picked it up. I need to replay this game some time.
i think its meant to be a little less literal than that; either hes tightening it on himself or it just feels like its choking him because of the panic attack
Do you guys have any tips on what you should say to a person in the middle of a panic attack to calm them down? It happened to a friend and I'm not sure my response of "It's okay, calm down" was the best.
i definitely wouldn't tell anyone having a panic attack to calm down. ideally you want to make sure they know that you are there for them, get them to focus on regulating their breathing so that they aren't hyperventilating. what kim was doing is actually a pretty good demonstration of how to walk someone through one (but maybe don't say "what's happening", lol)
First off, it's best to ask the person what help they want or need. Don't make assumptions, you're here to help THEM get control again, you're not here to heal them yourself. It helps to recognize that if the attack is already happening then they're already having trouble calming themselves down actively. It's like a trigger in your nervous system gets pulled gets pulled and a floodgate opens, limbic system takes the wheel, the logical part of your brain takes a backseat. Too late to stop it, you just have to ride it out. But there's things you can do to shorten the ride, in my experience. Getting them away from whatever situation triggered the attack in the first place helps immensely. Someplace calm, with a minimum of sensory input. Then you can encourage them to breathe as deeply and slowly as they can. Demonstrate, breathe with them, guide them through it. They're going to be feeling an intense discomfort in their chest and may be hyperventilating, but getting a regular breathing rhythm reestablished will go a long way towards helping them out. For me, my extremities go numb or tingly when it happens so I try to do things like ball my feet up in my shoes or stretch my arms and roll my wrists to ground myself a little better. Be patient and don't judge, most importantly.
I used to get panic attacks when I was very young due to existential crises. For me it would help if whoever I was with reassured me that I didn’t need to feel self conscious. Because that just normally adds to it and make it worse.
My first playthrough was with the Thinker build so it didn't talk to me either. Spat my drink out in my second playthrough (Sensitive) when it suddenly started yelling at me. It really is clever how they managed to add replay value with all the subtle differences in how interactions go down depending on your build.
Huh... How do you activate the necktie? If you take the Savoir Faire check with Garte, does that count as activation, or do you need to stand there and tug it in order to activate it? I'm doing my 2nd run, high Inland Empire, yet my tie has been more quiet than usual.
i'm so fucking normal right now
relateable🙂
i appreciate jules' attempt to bail harry out

harry is literally just robert kurvitz' self insert (the only difference is he's not a cop lol)

it can literally kill you right in the beginning if you fail to grab it from ceiling fan, if you have 1 endurance
Doing what it tells you also has one of the best pay-offs.
@@oooohbananawhat But that's the fan killing you not the necktie.
@@monsesh1316no its the necktie. It even has the motive
Kim is so sweet, I can't.
i need a kim to follow me around and shake my shoulder gently or pat my head when i'm having a panic attack
I like the panic attacks but I love the mental loops even more.
"Mr. Evrart is helping me find my gun"
i need a kim in my life
It's okay, you can do it sir. Over.
There’s also the famous ice-cop-hat-fuck show
not quite the same but yes
That is more of an emotional breakdown.
he's literally me
The most perfect ugly me
Superstar me!!!!!!!!!!!!
harry can have a little panic attack. as a treat.
Kim i love you
Harry, oh Harry...
Harry is me right now, I need a Kim in my life.
missed out on that whole scene but got a sick ass roundhouse kick as a trade off
The necktie is my favorite character.
The first time I got this scene I thought they were such assholes. But now I understand the other cops point more
mmhm, if anything jules is trying to protect harry from the others who are eavesdropping
@@LiterallySatanOfficial yeah that too true. But a lot of those other cops were victim of way more abuse from harry a couple of days before
@@magusperde365 oh for sure lmfao harry's sad cop schtick is horrific and incredibly hard to deal with
Harry so sensitive he died only looking at a light bulb.
i litwrally love and appreciate these vids so much. heart emoji

Just when I thought I'd seen everything worth seeing in this game, a talking bloody tie appears! I love this game 😂
at first I thought Jean was Harry's superior, turns out it's the other way around 😅
im salty about the fact that i cant marry kim. literally the perfect man. unfortunately, we are both gay.
The Horrific Necktie can… talk to you..? I really need to play again
Yes! I wrote up a little guide on how to get it to "activate" on the wiki page for the tie of you're curious
My God bratushka how could you miss the neck tie????

yeah you have to talk to garte to "activate" it beforehand, i couldn't get it to work in a new game unless i did that
