I succeeded on like a 28% chance, and just as i was about to pick hook, i changed my mind and thought spinkick would be cooler (since i assumed it didn't matter). Disco Inferno!

3:02 Love the attention to detail. Harry raises his fist, weaves right then then hard leans into his left Measurehead pick up his left hand expecting to catch a right but it was a feint that let Harry load up all his power into his left. It nails home that Harry is a trained man...That and the 360 spin kick LMAO.

@@pestilentsleeper9152 There are genetic differences between races. Look up Lewontin's fallacy if you think the statement "there's more distance between africans than there is an african and european" argument is true. I know universities love to say that a lot, but it's part of a greater plan and it's not true. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask; I have spent way too much time learning about this as it has impacted my worldview greatly.

I absolutely love the fact that "passive checks" exist. Because it is not only interesting dialogue that they give you, sometimes it is advice. I'm pretty sure it's either perception or reaction speed that warns you about the hook. It makes you pay attention to his stance, and what his plan is, it tells you he expects the right hook.
Yeah, I know, sometimes Authority may make you do the stupidest things imaginable, but I really love the small little details this game gives you.
It also gives you a completely different outlook on the vibe and meaning of a scene - talking authority again, everything becomes a power struggle where you have to dominate the ozher person.
Or with drama, you will notice several other characters faking their emotions which gives them a whole new meaning
@@juke9674it's because of this, is why drama was my best friend for most of my playthrough.
Say what you will about Authority, but sticking your thumb up your rectum and going on a long tirade about fucking your own hat are some of the funniest things I've seen in months
The Authority is the smartest one. He even tells Harry to kill himself

The pause followed by leveling up physical instrument is just fantastic. And the lean in after the damage 10/10.

you dont even need the composure…i just remembered the conversation i had with the npc at the strike who said to keep your distance at all times with him…such an amazing game that it has all these options to approach
It's an easy check.. composure of 2 is enough
This was my proudest moment during my playthrough. Harry may be a screw up, but he managed to spin kick the fascist damn it!

This happened to me, I passed the check but chose right hook, got fucked up. Tried to fight again, failed check. Tried aagain, failed check. It let's you do it like 3 times in a row. Finally I was at one health bar. So I went the other way where you jump down from Cuno's hideout. But I failed that check like 4 times. Finally I went back and passed this one again. This time I kicked. I went in to the harbor but it was midnight and Evrart was out for the night.

I remember failing the first check the first time, and getting my punch caught. Fucker asked me to humiliate myself and I said no, so he damaged me to nothing. Thank god I had a spare heal. Left, talked to the guy downstairs, VOLITION OF ALL FUCKING SKILLS chimes in and is like “There’s no way he’d expect you to do that again!”. I RUN back up the stairs, manage to get the punch in, and IMMEDIATELY click the spin kick option. Me, and The discord chat I was in, SCREAMED IN TRIUMPH

Damn, when I was playing I think I tried to internalize his racial theory but then got stuck in a loop of him explaining it to me, having no option to knock him out even though I wanted to really badly
the first time i attempted this i died to a heart attack. second try, with a lower than 20 chance to get it, i successfully punched *and* 360 kicked him. felt like i was on top of da world
I just started my first playthrough and got to punch him first try, before I even knew what the thoughts mechanic was all about, let alone any alternatives. I've spent all day exploring before finding a way to sneak into the harbor ... AND NOW I FUGURE OUT THAT THE KICK WORKS ON THE 8% SKILL CHECK??

I don't understand why people think this game is so good. It's like baldurs gate minus any gameplay. Combat is resolved in the form of text and dialogue options. That's hella boring.

@@ethosterros9430 The whole point is that it succeeds at being a detective story while being an RPG. RPG doesn't always mean combat. It's perfectly valid not to like that kind of game, but that is the reason why people think the game is good.
