This a great example of a Louis XV period chateau in the Rococo style. There was no federal period in France and it’s not regency either as the French regency ended in 1723 with the ascend to the throne of Louis XV.
The Victorian era came 100 years later in England and also has nothing to do with this one. Wish i could buy it though

It is a lovely chateau and very well renovated. The price is not unreasonable as a fortune has been spent on bring it up to spec. Usually furnishings and light fixtures (including chandeliers) are negotiable for these properties.
BTW, what was described as a ‘breakfast room’ is in one of the extensions from the main body of the house leading to the corner pavilions in the cour d’honneur.

I don't know what the federal period is in France. If the chateau is from the 1740's, it is prerevolutionary France, under the reign of Louis XV.

I explain in the video what the Federal period is..it's the same as Empire, as they often call it in England. Some of the buildings and the lake on this property are actually from the 16th century!

@@LetsBuyAChateau Empire is the period in France around the reign of Napoleon, so the very late 18th and beginning of the 19th century. The 1740s is referred to as Louis XV (Louis Quinze).
In Britain the 1740s would be called the early/mid Georgian period. We did have an empire at the time but never an actual ‘Empire’ style. The main post-medieval styles are: Tudor (late medieval), Elizabethan, Caroline/Jacobean, William & Mary/Queen Anne, Georgian, Regency (late Georgian), Victorian, Edwardian. The style known as ‘Arts &Crafts’ straddles the last two. After the death of Edward VII we move into the modern era which is based on international styles.

France doesn’t have the same stupidly expensive value based annual ‘property tax’ regime that much of the USA has. There is a local property tax but it’s mainly based on contribution to general local services so is reasonable. On this property it will likely be somewhere around €5,000 per annum.

This is the most spectacular price, and I would snap his up, if I had that much money! But really not only the chandeliers may disappear but the furniture, as well!? It is true the utilities and taxes will take a toll, s there is truly alot of land, but as a Bed and Breakfast, it could bring in hopefully some money extra, in order to pay some of these prices, we may need to endure! the extra money going out, if we feel we can handle to afford it, we may see that we can withstand it' for a lifetime'. You would have people with you forever to always help when or if, needed? We take chances on things like this of course, *we must never depend on it all) but well worth trying, and do not see any reason it would not work, if it was advertised properly that you need people with good work and people ethics, and proper references?
May need 'work a ways' (those between jobs or not working, and can prove with references etc, and need a place to live, they may be willing to work for you, as volunteers, living within, or paid people, for mowing lawns, gardening and snow blowing, shoveling, and cleaning etc, perhaps, * but with need first for good references of course, but it would be so worth it, if one were to be living in a lovely Chateau like this! They may well become dear friends!? To have a Gardeners Cottage, and other buildings, is a blessing on its own.
Truly I would feel it is worth trying to work out a price to have chandeliers and furniture stay, and some other items if possible as they go so well with the home is a such a horrible mistake to separate it all I feel. Would make it easier to move, especially if someone were to move from the U.S. or any other country, to France!
*Wish I was able to do this, and would, if possible, and do know of some people that would become friends, that would not be too far away, that live near this area and also have a chateau!? With friends with chateaus by your side, you can certainly help each other know how to get going and how things work and where to shop etc. If you do not know already. But it can be fun just being able to investigate all the places you may encounter in France, am sure! Thank you for showing this lovely Chateau! No matter which era this home is from, it is perfect for the right people, am sure! Nice to know though, and it would all come out when purchasing.

You're absolutely right - on all accounts! Such a dream. I have heard of some people allowing the furniture, etc stay for a separate cost. That certainly would be nice! It'd be fun, but a big chore to fill that place if it was left empty! An absolute gem :)

@@LetsBuyAChateau If someone did not mind buying antiques or replicas, and little by little doing one room at a time, they may at some point have it done. But if they won a lottery (Or rich from ancestry or really good money from their position) they could have it done by a -professional and nicely all at once. But it really would be a dream come true for some who can afford doing it all properly, but few can unfortunately but not totally impossible to have the right ones come along to buy it, of course as you know.
Just think people need to be warned about the chandeliers and furniture as when we see it all done like this it looks like the price maybe reflects it all and really do not want any mistakes if they should buy it and have that ability but not able to do all of it as they thought, This may not be your duty, of course to tell that part, but before it is sold hopefully that part is brought out before it is too late and just expected?
Some may not mind and would like just doing one room at a time and are young and would do the best they can without much in the house? They would just take many years working with it and may like a project or undertaking like this? 'But not shocked at closing' .. lol That is main thing.
Lovely home for sure though, and as these people did it, someone sure could evidently! Probably will! But must not just think it is this easy as it looks.
