I'd much rather have pipelines offsetting the tax burden on Canadians, as opposed to the need for things like the carbon tax. Congratulations to all the surveyors, welders, pipeliners and related suppliers for completing this project.
The regulatory requirements, environmental requirements, technical standards, complexity, master level worker skills, high focus scrutiny, security requirements, and safety requirements all contributed to the total cost of this incredible accomplishment and successful result. Well done by everyone involved in the project! 👏🇨🇦👌😁
The sooner the TMX gets operational the sooner it will begin paying for itself and generating income for the public. Our great government who is against oil doesn’t help the situation. But it will be operational soon.
Yeas energy independence and oil production is important. Our allies want more oil and gas. It wouldn’t matter if this pipeline was built or not in terms of crazy climate crap.
This pipeline was valued at 2 billion when it was up for sale, then we bought it for 4 billion. Now after 34 billion in, it is the butt of all jokes. We will never recover the costs on this, let alone if there is ever a spill/disater involved. Total flop.
I bet there are pipeline contracts that are still trying to figure out how they made so much money on this project, it was more than likely a cost plus contract with the government and every time there were delays or problems they kept the meter running at full speed.
Gasoline prices in BC are everything about BC’s multiple levels of government choosing to layer taxes on the price of gas. Unfortunately, a pipeline that will provide revenue to that same government will not reduce our gasoline prices. 🤷♂️
It will likely cause higher gas prices in western Canada. Refineries in Canada won’t be able to buy crude at a discount anymore causing higher prices for Canadians
@@svenhodaka9145 What a load of crap. The reason BC pays more, according to gas manufacturers, is because of the bottlenecks created by the Rocky Mountains. Lower gas prices was a selling point of this pipeline to BC. Alden here is probably correct but, that's not what we were promised.
@@aldenhagel5082 You're probably right but, that's not what we were promised. PS about those discounts, Alberta always thought it was because they were landlocked. Wait until they find out it's actually because they have an inferior product. 😉
@@PaulMartin-qu5up Western Canada Select is the name of the crude oil. You can manufacture several hundred different products out of it including gasoline, diesel, turbo b (jet fuel). It all depends how you have designed your refinery. The crude will be a Canadian export product. Economic benefits for the provinces and the country. What’s there not to like about it?🤷♂️
YOu know what's safer Gary than pipeline? Not expanding it! Invest in OTHER energy sources, which we could export to the other places looking for energy. CANDU reactors could be something we could improve and export. Gary just parrots DoubleDownDanielle's talking points. Is that all AB thinks about? Oil? They do have many other tech, but of course rural AB only understands oil. Why? Because that's what they want to know, nothing else. They were sold it by the AB Prov Gov since the 70's, along with stick it to the Feds (unless they are Cons too). Ignorance. Cons only care about themselves. When the climate forces AB to wake up, it will be too late, and typical of the cons, they will cry victim and beg for the rest of Canada to bail them out again! You should have kept the NEP!

34 billion in tax burden.
Only the liberal government can overrun a budget this hard and be this unashamed.
Now it's time to convince the freeloaders of Quebec
Alberta will save the rear of Canada AGAIN
Exactly!
As usual
so this proves Trudeau is wacko

Climate change started the time Earth was created.
@Michael-to8qd Exactly.
500% cost overrun = productivity?
The budget will balance itself.
In this context productivity = GDP per capita

Responsible Canadian energy or Middle East energy...no brainer

They will sell then carbon tax it
Interview Dr Blair King
This doesn’t help the homeless or lowincome what a joke
Only this group can talk about a project that is overbudget 400% as anything but an outright disaster.
What is the stock symbol?
Let's now build our 10,000 MW transCanada transmission line from coast to coast to share electricity back and forth among our provinces 🇨🇦.
yet the IMF still refuse to make an update on canada's nominal GDP for 2024
This will lead to more equitable gas prices in BC... Right?
