I think people hate on it so much because they look at it as if he was comparing padme to sand but I think it shows how Anakin suppose to be an awkward isolated young Jedi who doesn't know how to romanticize
I wouldn’t call the criticism ridiculous, it was a stilted, awkward scene, but yea it does make complete sense why Anakin would hate sand and how he would express his feelings about his past in such a way
It completely makes sense that Anakin would dislike sand as a character. That doesn’t make the actual line he speaks any less silly. Had he just said, idk, “Sand reminds me of mom” or whatever while looking sad, that would have made the same point without being so goofy. The memes are a reflection of the writing and delivery, not the concept of anakin being triggered by sand.
There was a lot of subtext to the scene where Anakin says he hates sand. Padme is talking about idyllic days on the beach (which this location reminds her of and takes her away from the recent attempts on her life). Anakin contrasts her childhood, with his as a slave. But also he's trying to distance himself from that association, because as a Jedi he has autonomy and status, and is more like her equal than when they first met. On top of that, he's desperately trying to be a man, and not the 'boy' she talked about at the start of the movie when they first meet again. They are both contrasting their childhoods with obligations and burdens they now face as Jedi and senator, and how their time together on Naboo is a moment of freedom they can reflect on the past and who they were and how far they've come. Despite being so different, they are in many ways facing similar struggles as young people.

I'm on a prequel binge rn and having the thought of "I wish these guys would come back" only to then realise they are is just perfect. We truly are living in the best time to be a Star Wars fan in the 21st century
As a huge Hayden fan for over 20 years now, it's great to see him making a big comeback. I've always believed he was a great actor. Even outside of Star Wars, his performances in Life As A House, Shattered Glass, Awake, Vanishing On 7th St, American Heist, Takers and Higher Ground TV Series have always blown me away. He has always had a old hollywood vibe and aura to him as an actor. His charisma and magnetism is just different from a lot of other great actors of today. He's always reminded me of James Dean, Marlon Brando and Michael Landon on screen among other old school stars too
He reminds me so much of James Dean mixed with Marlon Brando. He’s got a very retro style to his acting which makes me like him so much more than most people working today
Cuz they got people who know the LORE of Star Wars. The people who worked on The Mandolorian did an amazing job with the first two seasons. It was a great breath of fresh air to see people who love Star Wars work on series like these because they understand the world and vision that George Lucas had. Really interested to see how Obi- Wan Kenobi will turn out.
Pause a second and just realize that these two guys brought to life battle of the heroes, the epitome clash on the lava planet, Mustafar. Nothing but mad respect and pure joy seeing these two together ☺️
The prequels were actually really awesome. I can’t understand why people hated them so much. Palpatine’s slow rise to power was awesome to watch. In addition to Ani’s story, Jango Fett and of course the clone war. What a great story. I wish Disney took the time to lay out an adequate trilogy. They had so much to build on.
I loved the prequels. Just liked the originals, they're a time capsule of a great moment in time for movies in general. I always love watching them, the atmosphere was amazing.
I completely agree with you! my biggest qualm was all the cgi/green screen work, which really only testifies more to the skill of the actors being able to make it enjoyable. They really didn't have a lot to work with but did an incredible job!

So kool seeing those two together again doing interviews. They literally seem to feed off each other...and yes, the interviewer looked like she is ready for it to be May 27th. She seemed like a die-hard fan for sure. Great interview.
It really makes me appreciate when the actors for Star Wars reference events, planets or straight up lore in the movies or shows they werent in. I think it shows that they love and appreciate Star Wars themselves. Cant wait to see these two on the big screen again!
Finally an interview of just Ewan and Hayden together. Thank you so much for doing this, I looked up to these guys for much of my childhood. Almost emotional seeing this.
Oh these two enjoying each other’s company, complimenting each other and being so positive about the series! Thanks so much for this interview, I grew up watching the prequels and having a crush on Ewan. But now that I’m Hayden’s age am rooting for him and so glad that he’s back. May the force be with you boys.
They’re speculating about Anakin not turning to the dark side if he’d gone on holiday and all I can think of is that one clip that’s like “so chill out, y’know? Eat a moon pie, quit murdering people” 😂
Hayden really is a good actor, his performance just suffered from lack of direction and bad dialogue. He really redeemed himself in the Obi-Wan show. I'm just so happy he's getting love from the fans that he deserves (and I REALLY hope he comes back in the Ahsoka show)
I’m not a “this is what we need” type of person. But, I can watch stuff like this all day. May 27 can’t come fast enough. Maybe they’re just really great actors, but they’ve sold me. It feels like they are genuinely into their characters and the Star Wars universe.

And omg Hayden's beautiful smile hasn't changed!! 🥰🥰 Loved this interview and hearing them talk about this show just made me even more excited for this series if that's even possible!!
You can genuinely see how exited they both are & how much fun they have in these roles!! Would really be cool if there's some way of having them do more episodes with these charectors perhaps a season 2!
I Can honestly say that I ALWAYS loved Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader and I hated how everybody shamed him back then and said how awful he was as DV so this bring me so much love to my heart that people finally are giving him the Praise and honor that he deserves -no one could and can play him and become Darth Vader As Hayden!! 👍👍👍👍
Great interview, great interviewer, loved the questions, the atmosphere. Wish the interview were longer. Seeing them listen to each other and bounce off each other is really fun. When Obi-Wan is talking about the lightsaber training and getting fit for it you can see some looks on Hayden's face that there are more stories there for sure. Thanks for the upload!
I think it adds to the tragedy of the characters when you see the actors as such good friends. They really are like who Anakin and Obi Wan would be if Anakin never turned evil. This is what they'd be like. Cool seeing Hayden back, I feel he got a real raw deal back when the prequels came out. Great to see him back.
I've said this over and over, turning to the darkside and becoming Darth Vader was the best thing that ever happened to him. To both Anakin AND now Hayden.
I just remember watching these two countless times in Revenge of the Sith, and the emotion and passion they brought to the screen. Two phenomenal and excellent actors
Hayden Christianson has all of the makings and the energy of a sage and experienced a warrior/teacher. I think the person Hayden himself, comes off as someone who would never have gone to the Darkside. I feel like if Hayden Christianson the man was a Jedi, he’d be one of the most perfect Jedi. I think Ewan McGregor gives more of a “grey Jedi“ vibe. But definitely very sassy like Obi-Wan.

Hayden seems like a guy you'd want to have a drink with. He comes off as a very nice guy.
I'm on a prequel binge rn and having the thought of "I wish these guys would come back" only to then realise they are is just perfect. We truly are living in the best time to be a Star Wars fan in the 21st century
Yes! 😍😍😍
These Ewan / Hayden interviews will remain iconic for future years.
One can see why both of them were put together in Star Wars. A great chemistry that many envy. Their return is most welcome.
if someone doesnt give this man a Vader series im gonna explode. he deserves this so much
"lots of hello theres and high grounds"
star wars fans, we have done our duty
We need to show Hayden some love after everyone hated on him during the prequels, he was great with what he was given
It sounds like the dueling will be close to that of the prequels, I’m so excited!
I sure hope so!
Imma cry like a little boy, it's so nostalgic to see these two back together
Finally Disney are making something that actually feels like Star Wars and its because of these two legends.
You speak so fast
Yes because Mando has absolutely no Star Wars feel to it…y’all gonna complain about this as well. Stop acting like you’re some Star Wars guardian.
Mando feels very Star warsy
Cuz they got people who know the LORE of Star Wars. The people who worked on The Mandolorian did an amazing job with the first two seasons. It was a great breath of fresh air to see people who love Star Wars work on series like these because they understand the world and vision that George Lucas had. Really interested to see how Obi- Wan Kenobi will turn out.
No. It's woke nonsense
Pause a second and just realize that these two guys brought to life battle of the heroes, the epitome clash on the lava planet, Mustafar. Nothing but mad respect and pure joy seeing these two together ☺️
The best battle in movie history!
Oh man the fact that he knows “hello there” is iconic makes me so happy
The fight scene between these two guys is still the stuff of legends. I never tire of watching that fight scene. These two guys were perfectly casted.
OMG these two together are the best treat ever!! Please please STAR WARS, please keep making productions with them! We need Hayden!
@@jase276 agreed I could not have said it better myself.
I completely agree with you! my biggest qualm was all the cgi/green screen work, which really only testifies more to the skill of the actors being able to make it enjoyable. They really didn't have a lot to work with but did an incredible job!
Hayden looks thrilled to be back in the Vader Suit. I love that We get a Nice Smile out of Him and Ewan.
Hayden looks all grown up, sounds all grown up. Ewan is the exact same that he has been for decades and I love to see it!
These two don't look like they aged after all these years. Can't wait to see them again.
Hayden does lol
Our Ani is still looking as handsome as ever.
@@enlightenmentdoesntcomeeas5337 no hate what so ever, I'm just saying you can really see it in his eyes. Though in my defense, that was with this interview. I'm now currently watching the Agree to Disagree and when he smiles and is more active in the conversation he looks way younger
6:28 I bet he is talking about the behind the back deflection. I saw the new Inquisitor do it in a trailer and instantly recognized it as Hayden’s move.
that's so cool. I love that they're incorporating Anakin and Obi-Wan's 'classic' moves too! It's all going to feel so natural to see them fight again :)
Wait, is that what I think it is? That’s the pole dance meme right?
Seeing them both together is just so awesome. I have so many fond memories of watching the prequels. I can't believe they are coming back.
I like how calm and relaxed Hayden is.
So happy to see Hayden and Ewan back in Star Wars. I was 17 when RotS came out; it was and still is my favorite Star Wars film because of these two! I also had a huge crush on Hayden as Anakin, and to see him reprise the role as Darth Vader just warms my heart :)
hayden seems so joyful... i love that he's getting the love from the fans that he deserves
Hayden deserves this so much!
I love them, and I hope Hayden and Ewan will understand all the love that surrounded the prequels, that were very appreciated with the time
Can not get enough of Ewsn & Hayden. Your questions were very refreshing
I am absolutely loving all of these interviews coming from these two. They both seem so genuinely excited about the show.
This hype was misplaced. Hey Disney, pick a director.
They’re speculating about Anakin not turning to the dark side if he’d gone on holiday and all I can think of is that one clip that’s like “so chill out, y’know? Eat a moon pie, quit murdering people” 😂
All of the Evan/Hayden interviews are so much fun to watch, it feels like finally justice is being served to Hayden and the Prequels.
I’m so proud of Hayden!! ❤️ I have always loved him and he deserves all the love and attention!💕
Hayden has such a mesmerizing voice I can’t
Seeing them together makes me so happy. ☺️ You can see how close they are. Everytime they smile at each other, my heart melts a little. And omg Hayden's beautiful smile hasn't changed!! 🥰🥰
Loved this interview and hearing them talk about this show just made me even more excited for this series if that's even possible!!
The best part of all this interviews is the interviewers faces, they’re all star struck!
5:25 Lots of Highgrounds and lots of Hello Theres xD
Hayden is genuinely so happy. Guy needed this. Happy for him.
Holy shit balls! We get to see Vader fighting Anakin style? I can't handle this.
Better then anakin style
@@EmperorFist323 its still kind of Anakin style because Vader is still learning at that point
This is what I've been looking for, right here. Just Hayden and Ewan, just the 2 of them in an interview. This makes me so very happy!
By far one of my fav interviews we got Ewan to say “High Ground, Hello There, and Your Move” 😂 and the joy of those two sitting together. 10/10
I was also very happy Hayden remembers Anakins story so well.
Words cannot express how excited I am for this.
These 2 guys are well-preserved. The force is STRONG with them
Omg this gives me goosebumps!!! And I find it hilarious Ewan gets a lot of "high ground" and "hello there." Lol
The love for Hayden makes me unbelievably happy. His portrayal of Anakin is flawless
Hayden seems quite humble and very appreciative to be back doing this.
I can’t tell you as a child who grew up with the prequels I’m so excited to see Hayden in the suit
It's funny that Ewan gets all the "High Ground" comments, when Hayden literally starred in "Higher Ground".
Is she referring to “Star Wars Theory’s”: what if Anakin liked sand?
Yes
Yess and I can just imagine his reaction if he'd see this!! Hayden saying stuff like "I gotta see this" like wtf?!?
Yes someone needs to send this to him!
I'm so happy for Theory, he has made it.
I would flip out if he watched that video
Es muy emocionante ver a estos dos actores juntos en un nuevo proyecto de star wars. Espero que está vez los fans los valoren.
it just brings a tear to my eyes seeing them together again..
