Would love if CEMU had support for devices like this. Or Nintendo had a stand alone pad that could play streamed games from my PC that also could work with emulators like CEMU.
I pretty much bricked my iplay a while back trying to install the English rom but thanks to a guy on Dingoonity, I was able to fix my problem and learn more about the device. and I'm planning to get a laptop (Dell Inspiron 17 7746) so I can stream to my iPlay. Not the most powerful option for gaming , but for what I need out of it, it will be more than enough. Just out of curiosity, what laptop do you have?
Aasif Allen Glad to hear it got sorted, Im using as MSI GE60 2QE with gtx960m. It works fine but its an optimus laptop so it has issues with many emulators and some games with regards to streaming due to optimus drivers. Iv reported the issue and nvidia is aware of it.
As a handheld collector myself, I would like to know what handheld is your favorite handheld. I own over 40 handhelds and my favorite by far is the Nvidia Shield Portable. Other favorites include PSP and GPD XD.
I already have a Shield, but the design of this one makes me want it. The price is just way too insanely high though. Even JXD's upcoming K1-powered S192 isn't as expensive.
Hi there sing nitpick. I love your video reviews about android devices. You are spot on to the good an the bad things of the devices you are reviewing. I wanted to know the status of this device is in right now and if some of the bad issues have bee fix. I really like the device and i am really interested in getting one. I have a little experience in flashing android roms and rooting. Also with Xposed Installer modules. Thanks.
+ultraball69 Thanks, the device hasn't received any ,more formal updates so its still upto the user to tweak it for the standby battery issue..the other issue is the refresh rate which will affect certain emulated games (mostly high end games that dont run at 60fps) other than that its a fine device. Depending on your requirement it has some good points and is probably one of the most comfortable 7 inch devices Iv used( 5ghz wifi gamestreaming is good, no other Chinese handheld offers 5ghz wifi). You wont need to do much if your seller provides in with the english rom. Community support is difficult unless you speak Chinese.

I was wondering if there are other handheld devices with these kinds of specs and build quality...though I'm not really a gamer but I am nostalgic in the older games i use to play when I was younger. So far, I love the JXD 7800b and I just recently ordered the GPD q9.... I'm looking for something portable that I can take with me on my commute to work. The JXD is not exactly a hand held device compared to the PSP and Vita. 99% of the time, im standing up because the New York City Subways are always crowded during rush hour. I recently let my 5 year old daughter play with it and she is hooked...she likes all the Nintendo, mickey mouse games and even ghost and goblins! I'm looking for a better quality chinese handheld...first becuase they are cheap in price and over the years, i've seen it come a long way without the huge cost.. This Matrimax looks promising.. this can simply destroy the competition is they had more support in english and other languages..
+Ricardo Montero The gpd xd is 5 inch quiet portable and solid for retro games, for something smaller than that there is the jxd s5800 (Iv never used one so I cant tell if its good) the mucch i5/i5s (its fine for most retro games) Sadly powerful 5inch handhelds are hard to come by since currently Much(snail) and gpd are the only main manufacturers and jxd has left that market. There are a few MIPS processor devices GCW zero but there are way to many issues for it to be recommended for mainstream consumers. The Dingoo A320 is a small well loved device for lots of retro games(they are difficult to find). If You have a hacked psp/vita they are probably still the no1 choice overall for portability and controls for GBC/GBA/PS1/ARCADE/PSP/NES/SEGA GENESIS/ (snes should be up and running quiet well on vita's rejuvinate natvie hack)

Ricardo Montero Ps3/xbox360 have streaming solutions however they are not easy to setup and very few people actually do it. (look for Deenox Don ps3 streaming guide)PS4 streaming is fairly simple however GPD xd to my knowledge does not support it as it uses the Rockchip soc, almost all snapdragon/exynos/tegra devices can do ps4 streaming. The iplay is looked past because of 2 main reasons screen refresh rate and price. The Xd for a smaller device is a good balance. Everyone right now is looking to see what nvidia will do with the new shield portable. Jxd/q9/gpd xd can do ps3 streaming because Deenox tested his method with a rockchip device, the only issue you will have is with Ps4 (official method remoteplay)

what is the best handheld 'gaming tablet' for streaming pc games in 1080p, playing n64 (?gamecube) emulators and preferably at least a 7" screen? I like the look of the gpd xd although I think the screen is too small for streaming. To run on windows would be nice to run some native simple steam games. There has to be something which means I won't have to compromise :(

I really wanted to like the shield portable the main thing that put me off was the weight when using it for long periods. Id like to think if it was a tad lighter it would be my no1 device as well.

Hi there nice review. I have a question. What level of tweaking is needed here? I currently have a JXD s7800B but I'm giving it to my sister and I thought I would buy this matrimax, the main reason being bluetooth, which is not supported by the JXD. I did not tweak the JXD too much, I didn't root it. I just installed some extra emulators and extra software to make everything work fine. Would I need the same kinds of fiddling with the Matrimax or would I need to root it and install a new ROM? Many thanks Federico
+federico caiazza it does not have an HDMI port, I think if you browse the dingoonity forums and get the english rom you should be okay. You will need to use the wire bash tool to flash it. As for tweaking there is a battery drain bug which is related to the wifi on standby..you will need to tweak profiles with set cpu to sort it out but its hit or miss..kernel auditor can also help. For rooting just use kingoo Root it supports the iplay.

+Simon Jackson english rom has become pretty obscure and hard to find, I dont have one either, your best bet would be to check dingoonity or request the members who have a rom file. Its about 1.5gb from what I recall.

I feel the same way. If the device was perfect, rooted 60 HZ display 2.2 clock speed it does however have Bluetooth I love for i headphones. I want gaming tablet like this is just beefier built quite to the the point of being industrial and bigger battery. I may still go through the trouble of getting one of these and setting it up. One think would like to see on every table is a stand female 3.0 usb a stand 2.0 usb host standard size hdmi size. i know some people get upset with the charging being seperate from the micro usb i say get rid of the micro and beef up the power connector to the 3.5 and support the 128gb sd with lolipop
+Chad Carlson They were really close with this one when it comes to a great 7 inch handheld. If the shield forums are any indication the next portable might be a 7 inch device. However if they plan to use an X1 solution it will need a built in fan hence making it a bit chunkier.
It was a while back but the menu button from what I remember is not part of keylayout file it should be under gpio keys or gio keys file in the same directory (not sure of the exact file name). When you open that file there is a key assigned to the MENU button which can be edited. Even Volume buttons can be edited. An easier way would be to use tincore.

Sadly I dont have my device with me currently. Did you find the xbox 360 keylaout file? there is 1 usb xbox 360 controller file and 1 wireless file (usb one you should mod), within that you have to modify the BUTTON configs I do remember doing that and changing some keys. For me I assigned volume down to multitask. You might want to mess around with those because they directly work with the gamepad controls. I was using the standard english rom which was uploaded on pan baidu. Tincore will give you direct access to hardware keys very fast. If you post on Dingoonity android section Im sure someone can guide you.
Seth A the english firmware has everything, all you would need is SetCpu, kernel Auditor and any app to remove all the chinese stuff. if you wish to gamestream with start and select enabled you will need to edit the keylaout files that mention the xbox 360 usb controls.

NiChan L'images youll have to learn how to use kernel auditor from the play store to fix the battery drain or use set cpu to lower cpu clocks in launcher mode. For mapping I suggest using Tincore, although the Dpad will not be recognized, for that you will need to edit the keylaout file in the urs directory after finding the correct keycodes. I havent done it sine i dont need dpad mapping as much. When I do need to map dpad i use the stock mapper its works fine for that.

Dude, this console was $300US brand new 1 year ago and you're trying to sell a used one for $600US? The Tegra Singularity S192, which was just released and is more powerful, and is selling for $300US new. You're better off selling it on ebay for $100-150US (if you're lucky).

For 300$ they should of put something like Windows 8.1 since some knows that the Tegra 4 is strong enough to play certain games like Left 4 Dead 2.
Tegra can't run x86 apps.
That is the most crazy statement I've read in a while. Windows 8.1? Really? Not only is that a crap OS, but it will not run on any Tegra chipset..

David Omari barring software issues iplay is an excellent 7 inch device. What held it from being more popular is the price tag.

How to assigned multitask button to menu button, I edited the profile in keylayout folder and it doesn't work

Seth A apk's not directly from the play store are tricky as they have comparability issues at times youll have to look for a guide.

Dude, this console was $300US brand new 1 year ago and you're trying to sell a used one for $600US? The Tegra Singularity S192, which was just released and is more powerful, and is selling for $300US new.
You're better off selling it on ebay for $100-150US (if you're lucky).
