Having owned (and still use) a 2017 model Samsung laptop (convertible with s-pen), I have confidence that these devices too would be good (fingers crossed). I would love to go for the Ultra: with its 16 inch AMOLED display, full HDMI out, headphone jack (yes, it does matter still) amazing NVIDIA GPU options, ample RAM and CPU power and overall and light and sleek compared to the standard gaming fare. If there are no thermal or throttling issues, then what is there not to love this model? Perfect for some data science and 3D visualisation work and yet light enough to carry around everywhere! Waiting for some more in-depth reviews before making a decision!
Has there been any models since that have all the features of yours? (The fingerprint sensor, wireless chsrging touchpad, the folding screen to convert to a tablet and a built in s pen) just wondering cause as far as ive seen the original (i think it was called the flexbook) is the only interesting one
@@SuperMelphis I haven't been keeping track but I think Samsung did have a range of convertible laptop models with s-pen and touch screen over the years. I bought mine in late 2017 (unfortunately just before they released the 2018 range) while I lived in Korea and still use it quite often.
The Ultra looks very interesting, but I'm concerned on how Samsung is going to deal with temperatures and throttling with a Core i9 and RTX 4070 in such a small factor.
@@-_YouMayFind_- I don't trust it until i see it. I've managed to test powerful laptops that could not stand long work sessions. Previous Gen. Dell Precision laptops, with Quadro GPU for examples had terrible heat dissipation systems, and when I had to render long video files, sometimes I was experiencing forced shutdown for excessive temperatures.
In these new books because of higher resolution, the power-hungry Processing and the Dedicated GPU, It will be intresting to see how long the Battery will last ? I own the Book pro 2 whcih has 1080p resoultion & intel i7 12gen with 68Wh battery gives me around 7~8 hrs on average usage. looking forward for battery test video.
Can i have it with linux? Can I have a laptop which I can upgrade myself Is it repairable so ir wont end up in landfill within three years because it stuck toether ? I suppose these laptops are made for people who do not want a lot of flexibility in lieu of the portability - more like a mobile phone or a tablet - but with Windows. There are lots of options for people who like their devices to be very user-configurable even if they are a bit clunky: would suggest going for one of those. The customer base for Galaxy Book/Macbook kind of laptops are happy to forego the configurability and ports for the sleekness and lightness.
Hum. No windows hello, something that lives happily in my super think and light 13" spectre from a couple years ago. IDK man. Maybe they couldn't work around the OLED w/o a notch
The 360 is fairly Niche IMO. I know 2 people with convertable laptops and they never use the feature. You also are just guessing on the heat. The ultra has extra venting. Back up your claims with data or gtfo.
@@Itsjustanopinionchill Having owned a convertible Samsung with s-pen myself for more than 5 years, I totally agree about the infrequent use-as-a-tablet part. Though I still would love a near 180 degree hinge as it makes it so much more convenient to work propping the laptop up on a stand: helps keep your neck straight without needing to use an external display - though you still would need a keyboard and mouse pair, for which I love using a small, low-profile mechanical.
What do you gain not having a dedicated power port? How common is a dongle that can deliver even 100W. And there are notebooks that has 140W power over thunderbolt, with up to 240w to come.
Yes, my 1,4 K $ Asus V has HDMI 2.1, and slightly better - 600 maximum brightness (candela) but I felt like robbed, about the same resolution, slightly heavier 1,6 Kg, and 14,5 inches diagonal.
It is not a regular LED display. Of course an AMOLED display would have a limitation on the total brightness and for a longer life of the display, I would not even push it up to 400 ever. For people working with their laptops predominantly outdoors, going for a LCD display would be a better option than these devices anyway.
They're putting RTX 4000 chips in these. RTX 4050 & 4070. Have fun paying $2,400 and $3000 for them; those are the official prices 😝 Thats why I went w/ a Razer Blade 14 w a 3070 (used but in excellent shape, way less $$)
