The more I learn about Griffith the more he seems empty. Like a shell that's just moving forward he absolutely radiates. Charismatic psychopath I can articulate it that well. But we've all came across or known somebody like him. Maybe not as together and successful, but that emptiness. That when you dig deep seems to be there and the void only can be filled with power. He is a complete control freak when he said I always get what I want no matter what. That immediately made me think twice. He has a I won't be denied personality type.
@@FlyAwayTooHighToday Yes, but there is something there some real character. Griffith's whole personality is centered around his dream. So much that it's hard to tell what's fake or authentic with him. His relationship with Charlotte and the king. Cares Nothing for either nothing feels real. We know he cared about the Hawks to an extent. And when something intrudes on his dream/goal he completely falls apart. Because without his goals his core is hollow.
Guts will never unless he himself becomes a diciple with stens support because from what i understood about causality the cosmic universe wants griffith as God
I think Griffith/Famto took Casca because he knows that the Demon Child's presents in his body won't allow him to harm her. He doesn't want someone that he can't harm working against him, so he will likely imprison her.
Griffith reflects the perfect image of the biblical Antichrist. Many people have a false image of the Antichrist. If you study the scriptures more closely, it turns out that the Antichrist, as the son of the devil, has the ability to seduce the masses, this is not because of his horns, but because of his charismatic appearance and his likeable appearance and self-confidence, which we also see in Griffith. The devil is said to have the ability to pose as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). The Greek word "anti" also means not only to be against someone or something but also to appear or be in someone's place. So we see right here, at the end of this article, that Griffith appears as a shining figure of light and justice, but the actual core of this person is thoroughly evil and dark, with the evil intention of ruining people's souls. In essence, Griffith perfectly mirrors the Antichrist of the Bible. But not just that. What's even more fascinating is that the devil's son is referred to as the "little horn." Horn is a symbol of political power. The Antichrist is called the little horn because he will initially have little power, but through warfare he will gain great power and ultimately achieve world domination. We also see this in the person of Griffith. His rise through fights and intrigues helps him to gain more and more power, so that in the end a large crowd follows him. The writer of this story either had a good understanding of the Bible or an exceptionally strange inspiration.
Thank You For Understanding Griffith. Sooooo many people, UA-camrs included, paint him as some simple villain who raped Casca. They ignore the human that he was, and, his tragic decent into deprivity after losing Guts. They fail to understand that Griffith is someone who wont stop at just a Kingdom. He wont settle for being just a simple member of the God Hand. His goal is to soar higher. But, sins always come back to bite you, in the end. Beautiful villain. Beauty tale.
Oh give me a break. There is nothing tragic about Griffith. He was always a selfish person who's only goal is to "soar higher" regardless of who he hurts or kills.
Eh, i feel like Guts will learn that having a good life is more important than revenge. Why kill Grifith, who even tho he deserves it is kinda just doing good in the world right now, only to also kill his own child, traumatise his lover, and destroy the family hes built for himself.
@@aguspuig6615 that’s a possibility, but I think for everything that Griffin has done I think it’s gonna be hard for guts to forgive him especially now that there are two personalities at war within Griffin. The moonlight boy, and the man that we know as iGriffin
Nice video and really it covered a lot about Griffith. Although the IoE is canon otherwise Miura wouldn’t state that its chapters gave away too much information to the story that was too early to show to the audience. Another thing I have to look into is the claim that Griffith is a descendant of King Gaiseric which is news to me and can be something overlooked. I would have to reread the manga and the IoE chapters to put it all together. Granted Miura made the manga so sophisticated and complex that many new things pop up noticed by fans it’s difficult to say if everything is actually covered or known about it
haven't watched the full thing yet, but I have never heard anything of Griffith being gaesirics descendent and I've read the manga twice. Is that a theory or a fact?
@@pestydesperado8771 just a theory as they stated on the video. I never seen or noticed that either and have to look into it. I do recall the IoE talking about the idea of Griffith reaching far back in its history so who knows?
Manga number 10, page 125 (about halfway into the manga): "The emperor had no children, so it isn't a direct line..." "But it is said that even out of all the countries, the midland royal family is the only one that carries Gaiseric's blood." It's Charlotte who says this, which she had learned from her history teacher. I don't know if it's different in the Japanese version nor if it's further talked about later in the story.
Fun fact about the Manga: There are several depictions of the forms of testicles, phalluses, breasts and vaginas that are included in the bodily makeup of many the more grotesque Apostles and in the Interstice dimension. Mouths, tentacles, horns, landscapes, crevices, pillars, etc. Very Giger-esque.
I just don't see how it's that simple what has been simple about berserk?! He was a monster the whole time! Just because he's a peasant dreaming of a better life how does that justify all the death and destruction on his way to the top?
@@gifzilla1818 oh I agree with you I just meant that everything he did started out with the best ( his ) intentions but we all know how that went amirite? I’m not downplaying his actions I was being simple and short.
@@MrMementoMoriyeah he never had "good" intentions, just because he didn't necessarily start out with the intention to destroy the world and murder thousands of people doesn't make his intentions good, or noble. In reality the only thing he ever truly cared about was power. The reason he was so angry about Guts leaving that he fucked his whole life up by sleeping with Charlotte isn't because he loved Guts, it's because he lost control of Guts. He only wanted control. I mean, obviously there were some complex feelings there and he had to have cared for them in his own way otherwise the sacrifice wouldn't have worked, but I still think he cared about them more in the way that he'd care for a loyal dog. Or even just as pawns for his dream. It's why he was angry to see Casca and Guts together despite never having romantic feelings for Casca nor ever having any plans to be with her. He lost control over her then too. He was emasculated. It's somewhat understandable and sympathetic, and it's sad, because like, obviously the torture he went through was fucked. But still, I wouldn't say his intentions were ever good or noble from the beginning. He just wanted control, he wanted to be better than everyone else so he could look down on them from his throne.
See while I know Griffith is one evil bastard, I can’t help but pity him. He struggled so much in his life only to be toyed with by supernatural beings and when he was at his lowest possible point and essentially a broken man to the core even to the point he couldn’t even kill himself effectively. Again this isn’t me trying to justify or make excuses for Griffith, he is a horrible person and has committed horrible atrocities, but you can’t help but pity a being that was too weak to live and die as a human and had to take shortcuts to get what he wanted and the expense of those who genuinely cared about him.
His entire band are in the eternal pits of hell because he wanted to be the king and he's not even the same person any more the Griffith know I'd fully merged with the abyss all his evil desire are made manifest he is incapable of doing a willing act of goodness if it isn't for self preservation reasons or can use it inflict more evil down the line
I really feel that Griffith's speech to the princess was just BS to make him seem above others and Guts misunderstood. I think he really knew he couldn't make it this far without Guts help. All this broke apart because they didn't just talk like they should have. Griffith himself lead to his down fall. I say this because I never hear anyone say that. Who else thinks this way? Am I alone on this?
Not at all his blatant simping for Guts was always visible when they interacted even before the last duel when he left the hawks and spending that year in agony was originally horrible but knowing what he does to every one he cared about the old man and the torturers actions are considered beautiful by comparison he is not worthy sympathy only hatred cause he is only made of his worst parts now.
@@duanegarrett4900 His damnation should look like a house of velez death scene done by the artist demon in the house because it will be the first time I would stomach it because the horror of what she does as art will outshine the torturer he will suffer it over and over again repeating the same event that leads up to his death becoming a beautiful work of art for how much of a scumbag he is Griffith should have never been rescued.
You never hear anyone say Griffith led to his own downfall? 🤨 I've heard about a million people say that. He wanted control over Guts more than he actually cared about him. He did care, but not enough to let him be his own man without feeling emasculated.
Great content Cory, really impressive synopses and detective work. I have a theory on how Griffith obtains royal blood and it's all to do with Caska and Guts baby. What if Guts is the direct descendant of skull knight. Skull knight knows Guts was born from a corps and he has a keen affection towards him etc... Guts is basically an incarnation of skull knight and would have gone on to become a warrior king if not for the band of the falcon sacrifice. I think when griffith forced himself onto Caska and corrupted Guts seed he came into possession of the royal blood he needed to ascend, plus Griffith was always attracted to Guts seeing something in him that he needed. Or i could be wrong lol, but it would be a really neat way tie the package up and keep the lore of Causality true even with Guts being "a fish out of water or against the stream" (i forget which way its said) in that the 216 year cycle has given time to create the five fingers of the God hand but the skull knight/Guts part of fate only existed at the creation and inevitable destruction of the flow of Causality from the ego god in the Abyss. I've noticed that the writer is heavily influenced by the Christian religion so it makes sense that Satan (ego) is only defeated by the Father (God or the magic elements) through his Son (Guts) the immaculate conception and the being who rose from death (sacrifice) through the power of the holy spirit (skull knight). Anyway I'd like to chat more about this with you as I'm interested in your thoughts, please hit me up with a response. Kind regards, Rob
When Griffith sees the future he could have with casca right before the eclipse, the child isn't griffith's son, it's guts and casca's child. she was already pregnant by then. Also, I don't think griffith could have a child after all the torture he's been through.
And I don't think he's fertile at all, because Charlotte didn't got pregnant during the time-gap between the beginning of his torture and his rescue at the Tower of Rebirth and if she did, her father surely made her abort the baby!
I feel like Griffith one of the villains we all love to hate He's a character we despise so much but can't deny that he's a perfect antagonist for the main hero. One of the first and most iconic "bro gone bad" that arguably influenced a lot of other animes/mangas. I feel like in order to take Griffith down Guts would have to somehow sacrifice himself along the way🙏 because taking somebody who's that powerful can't be easy lol. And I don't think Guts has the heart to kill Moonlight boy, his own son, either, so it would be reasonable if Guts could somehow switch the connection Griffith has with Moonlight boy onto himself and then kill himself to kill Griffith.
I don’t love him in any way. I just want him dead but he is part of Guts’ and Casca’s child so now I don’t want that since I love both of them and their child. Griffith just makes you hate him more and hate the fact that you want him to die and live at the same time. He is a total menace and pure evil

Griffith: The only people whom I consider an equal is those who chase their dreams and does not depend on others. Guts: Okay then, I will work harder on my sword fighting skills to match up with yours, defeat you and leave the Band of the Hawk to pursue my own dreams. Griffith: No wait, it's not supposed to be that! Guts: Hol' up, this whole operation was your whole idea.
I’m not a trump person but I think that crack at Trump, and by extension his people, to be unnecessary. I hope that these videos are meant to be enjoyed by everyone, not just Democrats.
I just love the contrast between Guts' and Griffith's designs. Guts looks like a villain but is actually a good man that has been hurt and suffers alone. Whereas Griffith looks angelic and pure but is a master manipulator and only uses people to get what he wants. I also find it funny how even while Griffith was having sex with Princess Charlotte, all he could think about was Guts.
I like Griffith as a multi layered complicated villain. In some ways, I pity him a little. After all he's done, even to "help" people, I agree with others that all he's worked up to will come crumbling down. I can't see anything good coming out from becoming part of the God Hand. All those who admire him, worship him, or love him, I'm curious about their reactions when the truth comes out.

Great vid, you did the good job of refining a huge lot of information. I see Berserk in metaphors; like personas and archetypes in collective unconsciousness - philosophy of some sort. On our hands we have Ideas, also prevalent in real world or representations of them. Symbols that kinda explain certain subjects, actions, thoughts or concepts. For example: giving onself fully or partially to Shadow(not desirable and claimed Bad/Evil traits or deeds in society) to gain some kind of power. Fuck(sorry), this is real fundamental literature, that contains huge knowledge if you can extract it and present to others. My English is not so great as I would like it to, I have a lot more to say... Honeslty I'd put Miura's work on the one shelf with authors like Dostoevsky, Bulgakov, Nietshe, Jung and others, renowned for their study of human soul.

Griffin is to cut off from his emotions so when Guts left him he's self destructed and blamed Guts.
He has a I won't be denied personality type.
i thunk deep inside of us, we all have a void that needs to be filled with meaning.
Griffith is the only manga villain that doesn’t die
For now.
Orochimaru

That bastard
Guts will never unless he himself becomes a diciple with stens support because from what i understood about causality the cosmic universe wants griffith as God
I think Griffith/Famto took Casca because he knows that the Demon Child's presents in his body won't allow him to harm her. He doesn't want someone that he can't harm working against him, so he will likely imprison her.
No. That wasnt planned. It is also most likely the key to defeat him.
Smh, why did you feel the need to bring politics into this man
Griffith reflects the perfect image of the biblical Antichrist.

A painful ending bc I don’t think Casca will accept. But I hope it’s that way ngl.
No
... Which is Griffith.
Manga number 10, page 125 (about halfway into the manga): "The emperor had no children, so it isn't a direct line..." "But it is said that even out of all the countries, the midland royal family is the only one that carries Gaiseric's blood."
It's Charlotte who says this, which she had learned from her history teacher.
I don't know if it's different in the Japanese version nor if it's further talked about later in the story.
@@GAM2bia I remember that but King Gaiseric plays a big part in the lore
Fun fact about the Manga: There are several depictions of the forms of testicles, phalluses, breasts and vaginas that are included in the bodily makeup of many the more grotesque Apostles and in the Interstice dimension. Mouths, tentacles, horns, landscapes, crevices, pillars, etc.
Very Giger-esque.
Not just Giger, but also the panel from Hiernonymus Bosch's Garden of earthly Delights
Griffith is a guy with noble and good intentions but after what he went through and what he has done he is a monster plain and simple.
Bro good intentions and Griffith dont exist within the same sentence. Wtf were you on about@@MrMementoMori

Griffith might not have realized how much he saw Guts as something even closer than a friend until he lost him.
You never hear anyone say Griffith led to his own downfall? 🤨 I've heard about a million people say that. He wanted control over Guts more than he actually cared about him. He did care, but not enough to let him be his own man without feeling emasculated.
I’m glad that you had to talk about Trump during a Berserk video. Clearly the connection was completely unavoidable.
If sarcasm, cool. If unironic, room temp IQ.
Kind regards,
Rob
This is such a cool theory, would honestly be happy if this was how it played out
I feel like the only way to defeat griffith at this point is by destroying his dream with truth.
I feel like Griffith one of the villains we all love to hate
He's a character we despise so much but can't deny that he's a perfect antagonist for the main hero.

He's just stating facts. Also you can be a republican and not nut-hug trump.
You really said it great. When he lost Griffith's self destruction began.
