The fact that Miura left us before unfolding the whole Geiseric/ Void/ Skull Knight thing simply grinds my gears. I hope his friends/ assistants will do justice.
I think the best part about the old king is how little we actually see. We get to fill in the blanks with badassery and carnage, which I prefer. Even after Berserk is over, I think there’s still going to be an air of mystery to him.
@@wesleyfilms Exactly. I think there are some things left to mystery. Would it be nice to have some more information? Sure. But the nitty gritty details of every event aren't always necessary.
I really wanna learn about the old four god hand members in Gaiserics era, they look way more creepy and monstrous than the newer Godhand plus the old Eclipse looks something out of a true and horrific nightmare, even worse than the Eclipse we got with the Band of the Hawk.
Miura passing away will always be unquestionably tragic, however, him never finishing the story of Berserk and never fully revealing the origins of characters like Void and Skullknight will (in my opinion) elevate his characters to an even greater level of intrigue and mystery. It seems fitting that their stories will never be told, and they will always remain shrouded in the mist of the unknown. They go from being just mysterious....... to transcending unto a mythic and forever unknowable plane, where we will never truly know who they were. It's some of the most Berserk/Miura sh*t of all time.
Am sure his close family, friends and people who worked close to him know the characters and their origins now it’s up to them weather or not they adapt it not manga form, there is now way he passed without informing those closest to him the story and direction he wanted to go with it.
Yeah, it’s awesome if he really did take it all with him without giving anybody any information, no matter how close a friend or family. That his life’s work was all just Miura. It unfolded this as a result with unexplained ideas. Masterpiece.
@@Agradedbutfaded Apparently his friend had an impact on the story from the beginning. They both discuss everything and he also inspired many ideas in Berserk.
@@poetryofcinema6957yeah, this is true, he inspired the idea of Griffiths relationship to Guts. In efforts of studio gaga to carry it on. I just don’t know when or where it will go.
Skull knight is referred too as your majesty a lot; skull knight also aided femto on purpose in order to materialize the other 4 godhand. He is being selfish in order to destory void for revenge. Guts and Griffith are just mirroring that prolonged fight. Guts must choose his path of becoming a wraith like skull knight, becoming a monster like zodd or staying human in order to destroy monsters. Flora's sin was making skull knight immortal in order to deal his revenge. Berserk has many intersecting stories that mirror all the characters.
King Gaiseric was and is one of the best mysteries of Berserk (other than Skull Knight). The time of his reign, the kingdom he founded, the reason for its fall, and the comparison between him and Skull Knight are just some of the things I enjoyed about him. Glad I’m rereading Berserk a fourth time 😎
What about Skull Night and Void? Was Void, someone close to Gaeseric like a relative or a friend? Was Void the former king Gaeseric usurped and to get even he summoned (and became part of) the Godhand? That may explain why Void looks like he was tortured.
@@Tray3tar but Slan addresses Skull Knight as “Your Highness” during one of their encounters, out of what seemed to be derision. Mocking him in his current state; his great kingdom in ruin.
There's a story about the Vandal sack of Rome where shortly before the sack took place, Gaiseric was actually met by the Pope himself to try and plead for mercy (I can't remember which Pope it was, but I know it was the same Pope who allegedly met with Attila The Hun and convinced him to return to Hungary). The Pope begged Gaiseric to take Rome's wealth, but spare the people, and Gaiseric actually took the Pope's plea to heart, saying, "I'll make that deal, but everything else is mine". This was an interesting meeting if it did occur, because the Pope (like the majority of Romans at this time) was a Catholic Christian, whereas Gaiseric and his Vandals were Aryan Christians.
@@Ripcookiethief the political situation of the Papacy at the time was simply to survive. Rome was continuiously sacked. The Church was the primary source of Humanitarian aide. This is all described in the work of St Augustine
@@omorthon5774 Rome was pretty much abandoned by then. The capitals were in Ravenna and Constantinople. The Vandal Kingdom ended around 80 years later because of Belisarius' reconquest of North Africa and Italy.
Nice. I love this. This pretty much explains a lot that the Berserk community has gotten into and acknowledges from the manga. Also so many theories to put things together. It is absolutely unreal how well thought out Miura put his masterpiece together. I really miss him, RIP Kentaro Miura. Although his best friend Kouji Mori was given the details of how Berserk should end but can only recollect so much of his personal talks with Miura about manga
@@SunniMerlot yes of course but those are the major points. As far as the intricate details and subplots along with other character interactions and significance, we will miss out on that so the ending may seem good but not as great as anticipated without all of that leading up to it. Still though it’s good we at least get a good outline to the manga’s ending
Interesting, not so well known fact: The name "Schierke", the witches name, comes from a town at the foot of the "Blocksberg" also known as "Brocken" where supposedly all witches meet on "Walpurgisnacht". There's also a liquor you can buy there called "Schierker Feuerstein" which means "Schierke's Flintstone", in case you want to get in "closer contact" with "Schierke" ^_~
God Hand Conrad is also likely referencing a Frankish or Germanic King. Guts' name is also a reference to a medeival mercenary with 1 arm. Much of Berserk is inspired by European history and lore, with wink-and-nudge references to real nations like Italy or Britain. The 1st Empire seems to reference Rome, then when Griffith makes Falconia he talks of founding a "2nd Empire".
That Conrad may be true although Miura never confirmed that. As far as the one about the one armed warrior, Götz. That was coincidence or Causality, as Miura stated he knew nothing about someone like that existing in history and he is very transparent about what he inspires him in Berserk’s creation
Pretty sure Muira stated that Gotz of The Iron Hand was a coincidence with the similarity between him and Guts. Same as how the flim Evil Dead II and the Army of Darkness share a lot of similarities as well.
I've always loved the anime of berserk I just recently started buying the deluxe edition manga and its amazing. I wish they would've kept going with the anime.
The previous Godhand probably were not humans, but mythical creatures that may be common in the world of magic at that time. After the incarnation ceremony when Void and Skull Knight (with Gaiseric's death) were born, Void became the chosen 1 that the 4 earlier members had been waiting for. Just like 1000 years into the present Femto was the one. And after Void did, he had it so that all the subsequent godhand members were exclusively humans. Griffith being the 5th human to ever become a God. Why did they ditch the other-than-human race(s) in the Gdhand? It's a mystery. But I think the key to solving this mystery is in the chapter when Guts meets Flora for the first time and Flora tells him about the origins of the Behelit in his possession. "A fetish that came from unknown depths of the astral world" and that it is executing the will of an unknown being/entity from those depths of the Astral world. The astral world is infamously described as a place where one can get lost (even one such as Flora) but there's some evidence that it may not be a truly infinite space. Because as Flora continues about it, it seems that the God Hand are enacting the will of a greater being and that the Behelits are keys for it all to play out that originated from the same unknown place where "that supernatural being/entity" might reside. I recall that Void during one of his few appearances has said that the Astral realm is very deep so it takes the Godhand sometime to manifest from their multiple previous locations into the eclipse (it was said either appearing for Count or for Griffith) and hinted that even the Godhand doesn't know about it's boundaries. And during Femto's eclipse, Slan described the event of the surprise appearance of the Skull Knight as "unpredictable" and implied that even the God Hand cannot predict every single thing. Adding more to this, Skull Knight has said to Guts that your foe is one outside the laws of this world, and to even consider to one day beat him you need to be outside it as well. According to SK, it is in vain for Guts to even consider this as no matter the countless number of apostles he slays, at the end of the day he's human who is bound by the laws of this world (A nudge from the Skull Knight to Guts, to transcend humanity at some point, and maybe through some other way than the Behelit?). Although it is very very highly unlikely that Miura would decide to do that because the manga Berserk has always clearly been intended to be the story of "Guts, a human". Nevertheless Guts has been carrying that one behelit almost since the beginning of the manga and what is it's true purpose? It is not a crimson behelit but it is still somewhat special as it was activated for an "Apostle" to reborn as another "Apostle" (MAYBE A BOLD KEY to solving the mystery of the physical appearances of the previous GodHand!?) And that is not the only reason that behelit was special, moreover it was 'rejected' and the count is absorbed into the endless vortex of souls. Here we also see that the ones that are sacrificed and the ones that sacrifice others (Count), share the same destiny after death. The behelit with Guts is for this reason special and could be used for an odd purpose in future again. It might be neat to say that: "That behelit now lies beyond the currents of causality". What a genius Miura was that he left that object with none other than Guts for the entire time, who we know will never discard his humanity.
Maybe Nosferatu Zodd was to Skull Knight what Guts is to Griffith during the Golden Age Arc. And the first Gaiseric shown (the one with the lion helmet) is actually Zodd, and Zodd was the brutal one. (Note that the demon form of Zodd is that of a big cat eith wings and horns). Remember when Isidro said that the real person he admired was the Raider's Captain who defeated 1000 men by himself? That was one of the only moments in the story when all credit was not given to Griffith. Well, same as people didn't recognize Guts and gave all credit to Griffith, the same could have happened to Zodd. And over 1000 years people might have mixed their stories giving all credit to Gaiseric when in reality it was Zodd who was the real beast of the battlefield while Gaiseric was more of a Griffith figure, a commander who was undefeated in battle.
- What I love about Berserk is that something can always be the opposite of what it looks like! - At the end of the day the foundation of our theory is just that the owner of the Berserk armor was present at the time of Void's ascension and that person is the Skull Knight. - Zodd can still be King Gaiseric (probably not, imo): he is a warrior, he is barbaric in his appearence, he is always looking for a fight, the Skull Knight with the Berserk armor might have been the only one to defeat him (triggering his rebirth into and apostole) while Void can still be the imprisoned sage (making him his servant as a mockery). - On the other hand Void can be Gaiseric: he manipulated causality to ascend Femto and resurrect his capital (why would he raise the city he had destroyed), maybe he wanted to conquer everything and the Skull Knight with the Berserk armor stopped him by severing the link to the astral world. At the end of the day we identify him as the "sage" imprisoned in the tower of conviction just because princess Charlotte tells us that this sage was rescued by the angels BUT it can be a manipulated version of history.
Zodd has only a history of 300 years in Berserk whereas King Gaiseric spans 1000 years into Berserk. He can in no way have been around the same time as King Gaiseric/Skull Knight. However that last theory can be a probability
@@c.galindo9639 - What I love about Miura's storytelling is that he is very mysterious. - We know that Zodd has been around AT LEAST for 300 years but he can be even more ancient, simply people died and nobody remembers him or, perhaps he went with a different name... (not likely). - Nothing is 100% sure but we go with this because Miura gives us these timestamps "1000", "300", "216" and they become hints (or they wouldn't be there). 💛💛
@@self-parternerd8661 yes but overall the history in Berserk is accurate to what the characters tell about it. So Zodd is definitely 300 years ancient in Berserk’s timeline. He may have had to take some years to receive notoriety on the battlefield but Miura isn’t one to make inconsistencies so prevalent in his work. As much as I want to believe that I don’t give into fam theories that do mot fit into a pretty much, consistent manga story and timeline
I believe Gaiseric is more than an apostle I believe he is a former God hand which would explain his knowledge of the God hand and his hatred towards void
@Javier Vasquéz I believe so it could come down to him not wanting to die and making a mistake, because he did have alot in common with Griffith in his human years
@@ddooodddoo Lol you're clearly ignoring everything he stands for (not to mention everything he does during the course of the manga). PS: replying 2 months later just to misunderstand the character's actions and motivations? I'm baffled to say the least.
That's really crazy since it never occurred to me that in Skull Knight's past when he was wearing the Berserker armor during that eclipse, that Void was actually Skull Knight's version of the situation between Guts and Griffith in their eclipse. That the Void was actually a new angel member in the group, and not the oldest or just the old member since he acted as the leader in every picture, and that theory really it holds water a lot, not gonna lie seriously, but of course we need more about these events, but it is a very good theory.
I think the most complete theory about Gaiseric is that he became the struggler after Void's eclipse which destroyed his kingdom, he wore the Berserker armour and had his own mythic quest, much like guts. But the armour did what it's doing to Guts. It brought forth his own beast of darkness as it withered away his body. Eventually, Gaiseric confronted his beast of darkness and his ego and his shadow completely separated in a failed individuation. His ego becoming a revenant of will that inhabited a suit of armour, allowing him to continue his struggle against fate as the Skull knight. And his shadow, his beast of darkness, became Nosferatu Zodd. A demon of the battlefield who knows only war and bloodshed and desires nothing more. It explains why SK and Zodd have such an adversarial relationship and you can even see Zodd's demon form motif on the top of Gaiseric's helmet. It makes sense to the story as it's unfurling too. Guts has been doing Jungian shadow work since the Golden age, but that work became a lot less metaphorical after the eclipse. We've seen him confront his shadow multiple times since the black swordsman arc and it's been leading up to what should ostensibly be a Jungian individuation. In which the subject confronts and ultimately accepts their shadow as necessary part of their Psyche. But they don't allow it to rule them. Apostles are people who allowed their shadows to take full control of themselves as they gave into animalistic desire. The idea of evil is that which lies at the heart of all mankind. Their collective animal desires manifested as a single entity at the centre of the collective unconscious. That is what giving into fate means within the confines to the manga. Of not controlling your animal urges. SK rejected these urges because he could not control them, but in doing so he cut himself off from the human experience, from the collective unconscious. Guts is going to confront his shadow because the Berserker armour is forcing him to, that's its purpose. But he needs to be strong enough to control the beast without rejecting it outright, as Gaiseric did. To complete a true individuation where he remains connected to the things he loves as a man. And isn't simply defined by his struggle against fate. Essentially moving past being a struggler in world, moving past something that simply swims against the stream of causality. And into something that can potentially change the flow of the stream. By becoming a fully actualised person with command over his own destiny.
No. Zodd is an apostle. Not a shadow of Gaiseric. He even has two forms just like all other apostles. The motiff on the helm looks nothing like Zodd. If anything it resembles Wyald, which would be even more unrelated.. You're looking too deep into it. The stories involving zodd go as far back as 300 years. Gaiserics legend dates as far back as a 1000 years.
@@thefrisianviking28 an apostle is a shadow my guy. The motif does look like zodds form and his history is clearly tied to sk. You're also neglecting the fact that Gieserics would have spent time in the berserker armour before splitting. We don't really know either of their timeliness beyond rumours within in the series. I dont think I'm overthinking it at-all
@@Cernunnnos 'My guy' wow...... can you please quote where it is stated that apostles are shadows? Anyway, think what you will but Zodd is simply a warrior of ages past who craved more power. If he was somehow related to Gaiseric/skullknight, it would've already implied by either during their confrontations. You talk as if this is already the case. Can you also quote any of that please? Yes, they share history as Zodd is over 300 years old and skullknight is even older. Skullknight also collects behelits. They are also both tied to the supernatural. Still does not make them related the way you make them out to be. Make of the motif what you will. I just put them side by side and honestly I don't see it.
You need to add the Skullknight video to your current Berserk Playlist on your channel. But other than that, I really enjoy the narrator's voice on most of these videos. I'd recommend that you keep using the same narrator for this particular series
One King uniting a land that used to be an endless battleground of warring tribes sounds similar to the founding of The Chin Dynasty. Miura would’ve been familiar with that as well.
You missed the obvious historical character, Guts. Loosely based on a german noble with a fake hand who was excommunicated. Back then if you were excommunicated anyone could kill you without repercussion, and he had to constantly fight people trying to kill him and steal from him.
@@Sprite897 that just makes it a little cooler honestly i mean what are the odds of such a coincidence where a man with an almost identical name, with an iron hand, and who was also both a badass and a merc existed in the real world almost as if the hands of causality itself wanted the guy to be known eventually, and thus spawned a beloved character that has quite a bit in common with the guy
To make a sacrifice powerful enough to ascend to God hand status then I'm sure void would have had to sacrifice a huge amount of people and loved ones. A sage sacrificing everyone is more of what the slug king did. So I think void is the past Supreme king but he looks like that. The sage which could've been a magic user would've been closer to a witch right?
This has been my favorite set of vids. Any thoughts on doin a vid of Mozgus and his apostles? Feel like that would be a good one. Keep up the amazing work.
Berserk may be the greatest manga/anime that doesn’t really have much fan created stories on UA-cam. Dragon ball z has like 100 fan fiction stories I wish berserk did too
Maybe the sage (Void) sacrificed Midland because he truly appreciated it. It could’ve been that Gaiseric imprisoned and tortured him because Void’s prospects on the kingdom differed from his. They could’ve had a relationship similar to Guts and Griffith, meaning Gaiseric was branded during the first eclipse. Since Gaiseric had the Berserker armor during the first eclipse he could’ve fought until the armor depleted him. The armor seems to personify deep emotions, as it can be seen by the Beast of Darkness in Guts. Gaiseric could have had an equivalent that then became an astral being after his death and damnation into the Vortex of Souls. Meaning Gaiseric is truly gone, but a spiritual being of sorts survived the eclipse due to the armors strange properties. Also the initial God Hand could’ve been constructs made by the Idea of Evil until their human replacement. Behelits and apostles could’ve still been occurrences as the Idea of Evil became strengthened as human population and civilizations increased the unconscious will. Explaining Zodd’s rivalry with Skull Knight seemingly spanning as long as their conceptions. And not really being a rivalry set in previous relationships.
Also there’s this whole theme of causality and how it’s a spiral that repeats, but not exactly the same. In a sense the first eclipse mimics the fifth and we could infer that it did so for the ones in between (making it redundant for the author to fully flesh out their back stories). So the creation of Skull Knight was an unprecedented outcome of the first eclipse like Guts and Casca surviving was for the fifth.
Until we hear the full story from gaiseric himself, i think history was rewritten by the idea of evil. Maybe part of his story was that he was wiping out apodtles and god hand members, thats why he was eradicated.
Gaisaric reminds me a mix of roman empire expansion Alexander the Great tactics and ghegis khan war mood Hes armor has literally all berserk cultures on in . Like Tudor kusan and midland patterns are on hes armor Maybe after he established the empire a power of dominance started
The world will forever mourn the loss of Miura and Berserk. I only pray that his spirit lives on in the people he loves and that they may see Berserk find a fitting end.
I maintain that Skull Knight was not Gaiseric. Gaiseric has crazy parallels to Griffith. Being that he is a conqueror that united an entire continent under his banner. Something that no mere mortal could do as evidence by the state of the world at the beginning of the story. I believe Gaiseric became Void. And that Skull Knight is a forgotten figure who once served Gaiseric. Probably a lesser ruler who was conquered by Gaiseric and became his vassal as evidence by his title Skull Knight. As for the Sage or Holy man. He may have been a sorcerer capable of summoning the four kings. If the Godhand incarnation ceremony and egg of the king cycle are accurate. Then Void would have had an incarnation ceremony 80 years after he ascended to Godhand if he isn’t the first Godhand himself. SkullKnight could’ve been active for decades before this point. But it’s all just conjecture
Yet Griffith had a God complex and was always acts with self entitlemente and sense of superiority to others compared to Gaiseric who was never said or shown to have such a perception of himself. While Gaiseric may not have been the most humble of rulers based on everything we've seen so far he was far more grounded in stature among his subjects that Griffith has ever been.
@@javiervasquez625 we don’t know what Gaiseric was actually like. Like how most people in the story don’t know what Griffith is actually like. We only know because we are reading the story. All we know of Gaiseric are legends given to us by people in the story. Who’s to say he wasn’t also an ambitious self centered ruler. Heck his kingdom was said to have been destroyed because he was self indulgent by Judeau. If anything Griffiths showing during the council meeting shows he’s grounded amongst his people.
@@jenothemississippianofmand5202 You can use that very same argument in support of Gaiseric been far less entitled and narcissistic by arguing we never see or hear about his personality to argue he was the Griffith of his Era with the Sage who summoned the previous incarnations of the Godhand (Void) being his "Guts". Miura could very well have intended for Gaiseric to have been a proto Griffith only for his story to end in a totally different way compared to Femto's but the fact remains: we do not know anything concrete yet to reach such a conclusion. I myself am open to such a possibility but seeing how incriminatingly obvious the Skull Knight's backstory is i am among many who stick to the notion that Gaiseric/Skull Knight is the past equivalent to Guts just as the Imprisoned Sage/Void is the past equivalent to Griffith.
I actually have the same thought. There are countless remains in the tower where griffith was imprisoned with the brand of sacrifice. You cannot sacrifice people who mean nothing to you. This only means that whoever sacrificed them had a connection with then, someone who people might have loved. Who else but the a king who once fought for their sake of course, and among them was skull knight.
It would be interesting if it hsd turned out that void is the supreme king and skull night is the sage. Might be reasonable to view the supreme king was so power hungry that his kingdom decayed beneath him and turned on him, the idea of evil tempting the king to sacrifice his kingdom for his continued existence. Void being the defacto leader of the godhand might see him wanting to see the 2nd coming of a paradise he failed to build. Backing femto with his vision. Skull knight being the sage that was left confined as the kingdom was sacrificed, turned into a wraith/ revnant like entity from the grief of being powerless to stop the supreme king. The Sage being the Skull knight seem plausible as a sage he would have intimate knowledge of the elemental kings and nature of fantasia as it once was, possibly knowing flora before his transformation into an entity of vengeance called skullknight. Skullknight having so much detailed knowledge of the abyss and magic seems more plausible as he was once a sage. Void being the supreme king seems more reasonable if you think about why the elemental kings vanished, void having orchestrated their capture or enslavement after they had razed his kingdom due to humanities atrocities peaked. It may not make sense for the sage to do away with the elementals, as the sage was the one warning the supreme king of his and the kingdoms possible doom. I can imagine the sage donning the beserker armor in his later years as the first bout of attempts in revenage against void, having that void had condemed the kingdom and captured the elementals. The supremeking being the first human to fall to utter despair while also having the greatest ambition would lead me to believe the idea of evil would favour him as a catalyst in changing Causality for humans more then the sage. I gather the idea of evil is the collective will of humans, one of those is to be unified, the king having the ambition to do so and innate desire would make him a more suitable Embodiment of unity to be a godhand member. Void is dispassionately savage to humanlife and apostles. Only wanting one thing, unity of everything. And void of everything. Causality to eventuate. Skullknight on the other hand, wants freedom, revenge, salvation of everyone. Supreme king seems like someone that cant let go of power and control. The sage was too compassionate to let go. Which one sounds like they would give in to damning everyone. My vote is the guy that thinks he has a profound destiny and is brought so low they would give anything and everything for their own survival. Not the guy that knew what might happen opposing the king but did so regardless of himself. Skull knight empathises with guts trying to do good and do away with evil. Holding his convictions above his own life. Skullknight has stated he sees guts treading the same path as himself
In the lost children arc Puck says something to the tune of skull night seeming like an elf. This is after the story of Peekaf is front and centre. I always thought it was implied he was Peekaf in the story.
What I think would be a cool concept if the God of War developers got the rights for the berserk ip and created a bad ass game, I would totally play it
Who summoned the 5 'Angels' that ended the king's rule? How bout the dead bodies with brands of sacrifice at the bottom of the hole. Who sacrificed them and what was their relationship? Did the king lose his mind to the beserk armor and if he did, what did he do then? What was the witch's taboo? What is the story of the sage?
Even though the characters are not real it still is mirrored in real life, specifically war time atrocities. All the woman and children who were put into sex slavery. So sad
Skull knight and void are friends. The sage was void and told skull knight his down fall. Skull knight got angry and sent void to be tortured then void sacrificed everything including akull knight. That is my theory.
For some reason i always thought king Gaiseric's character was based after Emperor Aurelian of Rome. Both came to power during the peak of civil wars, invasions and horrible strifes. Both were known as the "great unifiers" (Emperor Aurelian's title name was "the restorer of the world") Both of them died mysteriously at their peak power (Your average roman didn't know "how" did their emperor died)
This is also the very reason I do not care about spoilers. I do not know when I'm going to die and I do not know when the world is going to end. I want to know what happens so I don't give a s*** about spoilers.
Anyone want to know about why the "Bridge Knight" guarded a bridge and what was on the other side? I honestly feel that he was guarding something of Gaiseric's.
Guts is Gaiseric's 1000 year reincarnated humanity, both are trapped in the eternal conflict against the God hand, both with give of blood and their own humanity to end the cycle only to be consumed by the berserker armor.
i always wanted Gaiseric to be Guts's father since who was his father was always another mystery but i feel that also Griffith could be related to him and that is also another reason why Skull knight feel responsable to stop him or helping to change he course of destiny as he did.. Adore Skull knight, he is totally my dearest character in the whole BERSERK universe aside of course the Black swordsman it just when it comes to skull knight he always makes me feel this deep supernatural emotion and the shivers yet something about him is just plain adorable, cannot express it but you know that something crucial is about to happens whenever he shows up thank you Kentaro Miura for giving us something as vast and powerful such BERSERK you where exactly the kind of artistic Hero that this world will always need also thank you to whoever edited this video and again thanks for all care and attention you guys been doing for franchises such X-MEN and BERSERK feel free to cover CASTLEVANIA someday
He died 900+ years before Guts was born so unless Skull Knight was tapping Gut's mother, which also is ridiculous, King Gaiseric can safely be ruled out on the next Maury Povich show.
i see what you mean and trust me i had thought about it but there's still a possibility or at least some kind of connection i honestly think there's a connection between Guts, griffith and mighty Skull
The isn't much to cover with CASTLEVANIA that you couldn't understand easily by yourself by reading about it on the wiki. It's a pretty basic plot of Good vs Evil involving a family of vampire hunters and some angry vampire guy who wants to rule the World because he hates God and yada yada yada... that pretty much covers it.
it may be a basic plot but that doesn't mean is not worth of making videos for this channel, considering all the different timelines and having such awesome Berserk-like Anime series as well only say this not cos Castlevania needs more videos but cos i can see this channel covering it's base lore easily nothing wrong with i sure many Castlevfreaks ike myself would appreciate it and maybe i brought it up cos they cover X-MEN (something HUGE for my childhood, in same way that original NES CV Trilogy was also there as a huge part of my chidhood as well) and again the fact that they cover Berserk both CV and Berserk hold so much in common as dark fantasy universes

Was it in recent chapters? i dont remember seeing this in the older chapters.
Those four created god hand so what are they called
Didnt look more creepy to me but definitely more alien or something like that just more weird
Yeah that eclipse was more of a cosmic horror event
Miura passing away will always be unquestionably tragic, however, him never finishing the story of Berserk and never fully revealing the origins of characters like Void and Skullknight will (in my opinion) elevate his characters to an even greater level of intrigue and mystery. It seems fitting that their stories will never be told, and they will always remain shrouded in the mist of the unknown. They go from being just mysterious....... to transcending unto a mythic and forever unknowable plane, where we will never truly know who they were. It's some of the most Berserk/Miura sh*t of all time.
What if its all a ruse within a ruse? I guess we will never know
Am sure his close family, friends and people who worked close to him know the characters and their origins now it’s up to them weather or not they adapt it not manga form, there is now way he passed without informing those closest to him the story and direction he wanted to go with it.
I'm pretty sure the tide between Flora and King Gaiseric was the reason she was banned from the Elf island
King Gaiseric was and is one of the best mysteries of Berserk (other than Skull Knight). The time of his reign, the kingdom he founded, the reason for its fall, and the comparison between him and Skull Knight are just some of the things I enjoyed about him. Glad I’m rereading Berserk a fourth time 😎
Kind of hints at an obvious connection between the 2 character all things considered...
What about Skull Night and Void? Was Void, someone close to Gaeseric like a relative or a friend? Was Void the former king Gaeseric usurped and to get even he summoned (and became part of) the Godhand? That may explain why Void looks like he was tortured.

Neat. I’ll buy that for a dollar
Ask yourself this question: have you ever seen Gaiseric and Skull Knight is the same room at the same time?
God Hand Conrad is also likely referencing a Frankish or Germanic King. Guts' name is also a reference to a medeival mercenary with 1 arm. Much of Berserk is inspired by European history and lore, with wink-and-nudge references to real nations like Italy or Britain. The 1st Empire seems to reference Rome, then when Griffith makes Falconia he talks of founding a "2nd Empire".
Griffith is Charlemagne confirmed lmao
100 year war in berserk is France and England
He's not a "God hand" he's a finger of the God Hand. I believe he is the pinky

Imagine a Berserk Manga/Anime, in the age of Gaiseric.
Gaiseric going BERK across the Mediterranean.
Love the Berserk videos! The Skull Knight one was sick.
The greater entity you are speaking of is the ideas of evil

Damn.

You’re definitely on to somethin here. I can Miura doing a reveal like that
@@chandlerholloway3900 bro Miura is no longer amogus
I thought Zodd was only centuries of years old, while Gaiseric is a thousand.

Whats the chapter manga no
@@emokeya6220 What exactly do you need?
@@PetarSon i wanna know previous eclipse chapter no
I think the most complete theory about Gaiseric is that he became the struggler after Void's eclipse which destroyed his kingdom, he wore the Berserker armour and had his own mythic quest, much like guts.
Totally
Bullshit
Yes, they share history as Zodd is over 300 years old and skullknight is even older. Skullknight also collects behelits. They are also both tied to the supernatural.
Guts is also named after a real German knight Götz he had a metal prosthetic hand and everything

What an excellent dissection and explanation. Truly, well done.
Although one may also argue that gaiseric is zodd.
Everytime I see Guts in that armor I think Dark Souls

They should do a dismount combat of Skull Knight. Bet he would fight similar to Achilles from Troy.

Even though the characters are not real it still is mirrored in real life, specifically war time atrocities. All the woman and children who were put into sex slavery. So sad
Man what if the story of berserk is just a big giant loop, a never ending story. I’d go crazy lol
Both were known as the "great unifiers" (Emperor Aurelian's title name was "the restorer of the world")
Both of them died mysteriously at their peak power (Your average roman didn't know "how" did their emperor died)
king gaiseric seems like a representation of the skull knight and zodd in one
Otherwise known as Skull Knight.
Great video.
Amazing series
Lol being the guy behind the word vandal. What an O.G
This is also the very reason I do not care about spoilers. I do not know when I'm going to die and I do not know when the world is going to end. I want to know what happens so I don't give a s*** about spoilers.
Nice vid bro !
What an incredible breakdown
Oh shit. Void and skull knight goes WAYY back I see.. he stays attacking void every time he encounters him.
Anyone want to know about why the "Bridge Knight" guarded a bridge and what was on the other side? I honestly feel that he was guarding something of Gaiseric's.
Guts is Gaiseric's 1000 year reincarnated humanity, both are trapped in the eternal conflict against the God hand, both with give of blood and their own humanity to end the cycle only to be consumed by the berserker armor.
i always wanted Gaiseric to be Guts's father
since who was his father was always another mystery
but i feel that also Griffith could be related to him and that is also another reason why Skull knight feel responsable to stop him or helping to change he course of destiny
as he did..
Adore Skull knight, he is totally my dearest character in the whole BERSERK universe
aside of course the Black swordsman
it just when it comes to skull knight he always makes me feel this deep supernatural emotion and the shivers
yet something about him is just plain adorable, cannot express it
but you know that something crucial is about to happens whenever he shows up
thank you Kentaro Miura for giving us something as vast and powerful such BERSERK
you where exactly the kind of artistic Hero that this world will always need
also thank you to whoever edited this video and again thanks for all care and attention you guys been doing for franchises such X-MEN and BERSERK
feel free to cover CASTLEVANIA someday
He died 900+ years before Guts was born so unless Skull Knight was tapping Gut's mother, which also is ridiculous, King Gaiseric can safely be ruled out on the next Maury Povich show.
@@porkflaps4717 😂
i see what you mean and trust me i had thought about it
but there's still a possibility or at least some kind of connection
i honestly think there's a connection between Guts, griffith and mighty Skull
The isn't much to cover with CASTLEVANIA that you couldn't understand easily by yourself by reading about it on the wiki. It's a pretty basic plot of Good vs Evil involving a family of vampire hunters and some angry vampire guy who wants to rule the World because he hates God and yada yada yada... that pretty much covers it.
it may be a basic plot but that doesn't mean is not worth of making videos for this channel, considering all the different timelines and having such awesome Berserk-like Anime series as well
only say this not cos Castlevania needs more videos but cos i can see this channel covering it's base lore easily
nothing wrong with i sure many Castlevfreaks ike myself would appreciate it
and maybe i brought it up cos they cover X-MEN (something HUGE for my childhood, in same way that original NES CV Trilogy was also there as a huge part of my chidhood as well)
and again the fact that they cover Berserk
both CV and Berserk hold so much in common as dark fantasy universes
King Radhan design surely must been inspired by King Gaiseric
I still believe skull knights maybe king Geiseric.
More Berserk! Yes!
The story continues
He kinda looks like Guts in the thumbnail
I think Gaiseric looked similar to Guts, they kinda seem like the same type
Valentinian III killed his best general just after defeating Attila, Flavius Aetius. Anyway they got yeeted by Belisarius
You’re the GOAT !
The Nameless King
Geiseric is Charlemagne, he has nothing in common with the historical Geiseric, Miura was just looking for a name.
If geiseric sacrificed his people then he might be void, and skull knight might be the priest
