should do 30 mph on 2s lipo as it is out of the box & with 3s lipo people have gotten closer too 40 - 43 mph.

And yeah it has issues with the wheelnuts. (blue loctite usually on any wheelnuts it's needed.)If you got any other rc car you probably can borrow one just too complete the video.Should be a 5mm locknut of some sort.)Though ofc blue loctite on the rest of the wheelnuts before the next outing as they will all do this without loctite on there.
Front shock tower is majorly bent from those cartwheels. Why wouldn't they just use plastic shock towers? Sticking up like they do on a buggy is always going to be first thing to take an impact.... Thumbs down.
My question is simple. This or the HBX SG1601???Im buying to play with son in back yard while on lock down. I already have 2 losi mini eights and the Wltoys buggy crawler thing. You know the one that’s been around for ages

Whenever I go running my RCs, I take spare tires, wheelnuts, body clips some screws and basic tools with me.
That saved the day many times. :)
You can also prepare a small package like this, so you just have to grab it when you're going out.

It's too bad the review was cut short just cuz of a wheel nut.I was one of the viewers who suggested this buggy and I must say if you give it another run you will not be disappointed.Once you get the nut replaced you should take it to the Rc track and really let it stretch its legs. :) thx for awesome video

News from factory: Last batches have factory very good Loctite on wheels locknuts and other screws. The grease on an in differentials was also upgraded. You can use nail polish on wheel locknuts if no Loctite. Got mine 1 week ago and already planning to make a track in backyard, very fun car and better fun than I had with a nitro kyosho in the 90's.
Hiya Bretzel. From all the recent comments the differentials both front and back from the factories are coming with no grease at all vs the very little amount from before. Loctite on the wheel nuts though is a welcome change for sure! 😊 Have a lovely evening. Kind regards, John. 😊
I picked one up on banggood for one of the kiddos Christmas gifts. Around black friday it was about 72 bucks. Seems like a great RC especially for the price. Can't wait for them to open it up so I can try this puppy out😁!

Make sure you take spare wheel nuts with you! I’ve never had an RC that throws them off so many times. I’ve put loctite on all mine now

Arick Lin Thin layer of blue on the thread and your all good. People are far to gun ho with loctite, you only need a very small bit covering the first few threads

A while ago I got a bag of 50 5 mm lock nuts and use them as wheel nuts. You can never have enough. As well have a merry christmas.

This RC is my FAVORITE outside vehicle!! Sorry your experience was a bad one. BUT when I got mine I did what Nate said...blue lock right and tightened nuts!! Update 3/21/20! 💟👍😘
I like that you guys show things like this, and the out of the box experience, cause lots of people are not going to check things like wheel nuts before they start running.
And you might consider loctite 222 over blue, it is a bit easier to remove, but still holds up well in applications like this, i use it on my rc's and so far at least, i have not had anything come apart
Hurry and bring it back on. I have three of these. They absolutely fantastic. I did tighten my wheel nuts first though.

Grabbed one on Amazon, total cost was $100.48 with 3 batteries, sitting under the tree just waiting for another day. Already plan on putting loctite on the wheels while the batteries charge.

Yeah nobody else seems to have seen that either but that shock tower does look pretty twisted to me. I got a 959b which is super cheap but amazing, quick and taken a beating after solving a couple of minor issues at 1st. I now have it fpv and its so much fun. Was just looking to see if it was worth the upgrade and the alloy looks great and its obviously stronger overall but i think the plastic with flex is more for me

They upgraded all the right things in this on my opinion.
I like mine better than my 12428, but not for rough off-roading. This is more of a track, dirt, road basher.

It has a lot more than seven minutes of run time and you can move the front battery mount forward so it will handle a much larger battery.
It's a problem with these RC vehicles lately it seems...like the Feiyue FY-03 and the adjustable struts not being properly snugged down. And now this beastie. Hope to see it back soon, as well as the FY-03!
From now on take a metal detector with you in case you lose metal parts. 😄
You guys need one of those magnetic push brooms. Just roll it over the area and it will find that nut with no problem. Or a metal detector

i don't care what you buy ...you should always make sure things are tightened... anyone that buys something like this and complains it was lame the wheel came off...is lame for complaining imo...this is one heck of a car for $100...you should see what $100 bought you in this hobby 30 years ago... even though the dollar buys you far less in things you need these days ...it buys you far more in rc toys by a long shot...

They started with a low price to generate interest. Now that it’s out and showing to be popular they raised the price.
They had the price really low to start so it’s probably closer to what they should be now.
You said "we don't sell rc cars on our videos". Well after watching your 2 videos on this truck, I've decided to get one in early June. I was trying to decide between these 3. 1- 144001 2- bezgar hm-164 or 3- hm 164. Both bezgars have brushless electronics but I already have 2 off road trucks ( one with brushless motor & ESC) that are top heavy. The wl toys 144001 looks lower and probably won;t flip over as much. I like all 3 and plan to own all of them but the 144001 will be my first purchase. ps love your videos

Hiya Tom. Excellent on short grass. Struggles with the longer stuff. Amazing on gravel and awesome on tarmac. If you haven't gotten one yet then you must try! 😊

Hiya Grant. I heard due to the front suspension being made out of metal that it's been causing issues when hitting something lightly vs this 144001 that can take a beating. While the metal parts make it stronger, in an accident that energy just finds the weakest point and that will be where the next plastic part is. Being attached to the diff case. Food for thought. I tell you, I got one of those cheap metal detectors at Harbor Freight; And that thing has come to my rescue more times than I ever thought possible.
It has a battery life of 15 20 minutes but you can upgrade the battery life to an hour just cause there is more room in the rc car

Hi Nate & Abby, tuning in from Holland, great video 👍 btw, for the people that want more speed but not wanna go brushless, i put a 540 (a959b) motor in, and run it on a 2s 2200mah 50c, this motor does around 26.000rpm the original motor does only around 20.000rpm

I've seen the wheel nut come off on this model in other reviews, I still bought one, just make sure your nuts are on tight, use some locktite if you can.
Well, It was driven til the wheel falls off. But it was still sad to see. Well I think it is faster then the last RC featured yesterday. Only the Speedo will tell.

I ran this car twice. Took it out for a 3rd run and the steering wasn't responding. Never crashed it and I only run my cars when it's dry out. Major bummer! I bought a complete brushless kit to switch out all the electronics and the spur/pinion. Nice vid guys!

Yes a few people have had faulty esc/receiver causing this very issue. Upgrading of course will remove this issue. Those that have the same issue just need a new esc! 😊

I have one and like it for one reason. The throttle trim is actually more like throttle response. I turn it all the way down and my 3 year old son can play with it without crushing into things. When I am playing with the car I turn it up and this thing becomes a monster. Love it.
I just recently got the wltoys terminator-( brushless). Don't know if you guys have it. Definitely cool...👍😎....... there's plenty of room for a bigger battery......✌️

Just use some thread locker! the blue is the best! no more loose wheels! ( if you want more use also lock washers with the nut ) works great for me ! great video btw :)

They probably didn't know to add grease to the diffs before testing it. 🙄 So many cars ruining in the first 30 minutes due to not enough grease in the diffs.

Yes... it's a copy of the LC Racing EMB-1 (The Anti-Roll bars fit..as well as most of the parts... quality isn't quite on par but that's why it's a hobby!!!! The Anti-Roll bars make the car handle 10X better!!! For real!!!
There are generic Aluminium 12mm Hex's that are 4mm thick on Ebay you can fit that will stop the wheel nuts falling off as currently the plastic hexes are too thick to allow the nylon locking part of the wheel nuts to engage.. easy mods and enable this buggy to run reliably!!
A higher C rated battery.. (ZOP Power 2200mah 35c 2S) Exactly the same one recommended for the WLToys 12428... enables a longer run time... and quite a bit of extra speed lol...!!
This little thing is an absolute weapon... parts are cheap and readily available, and so are all the upgrades!!!
Some on YT are well above 70+Mph with a few basic mods hahaha

I would say it's a good little package. Hard pressed to find another rc at this price point w metal shocks, towers and driveshafts throughout. With that said, I had some steering issues on mine where trimming the steering is extremely sensitive to get it straight and tends to drift again after a few small impacts. Two of the wheels need shimming as they vibrate/shake (not wobble) when hitting the accell with the car picked up. So careful full excelling in mid air.
Very fast.got to have a total re-do. Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't. WL toys got nuts, Abby's truggy Don't. 🥴🥴🤭🤭. Maybe you can find a ramp area with sand or soft dirt to jump into to help soften the landing. All vehicles need a speed, hill climbing, bashing test. A complete analysis. Kind of. The 12428 is 1/12th scale, and the one Nate and Abby mention on occasion. The 10428-B is 1/10th scale, but more of a trail buggy than a basher, and usually quite a bit more expensive than its little brother. Both have been featured on this channel.

Just got mine in the mail. need to charge the batteries and take it out for a maiden run. hope it runs as well as everyone is saying.
i absolutely love my 144001.. i loved it stock and i love the brushless conversion i did. i was actually the very first documented person in the entire world who upgraded their 144001 to brushless. and that is documented and proven and confirmed several times over. every time someone told me someone else had a brushless conversion and they were first that other person always had an upload date after mine. i thought that was an awesome bragging right when i discovered it. i have videos on my channel of it. I didnt buy it trying to be the first but it just randomly worked out that way completely by accident. still awesome though. The 144001 will wheelie all over the place. tons of power for a tiny little 14th scale car. even more when brushless.. if you replace the HUGE stock motor with the same size brushless motor you have a little monster on your hands. that tiny cheap RC is an absolute beast and i absolutely love it. i recommend it to EVERYONE!!!
fyi for anyone wanting to buy this:
buy extra flanged M3 lock nuts.. the axels on the 144001 are weirdly short and the lock nuts are weirdly loose.. you will almost definitely loose your stock lock nuts.. but buying new ones fixes the issue. theyre cheap.
fyi for anyone trying to upgrade:
stock motor size is a 550, which means 3660 size.. 36mmx60mm. 3.175 shaft diameter. the pitch is close to mod 1 but they have a unique pitch/mod. use the stock gears if you can. oitherwise youll have to replace both the pinion and the spur, and the spurs are a nightmare to replace. they arent used in any other wltoys rc so you cant find them anywhere. but they now sell the upgraded steel pinions and the spurs on the website. they were back ordered for a long time but theyre officially out now.. for now.. they only made 2,000 of them and i havent heard about them making more when they run out. get em while you can. get 20 while you can. lol.
also, that battery tray will fit up to a 1500mah 3s lipo, but DO NOT run these on 3s with the stock esc and motor.. they are extremely hit or miss. some people can run them on 3s perfectly fine, when i tried it i IMMEDIATELY fried my esc. within a fraction of a second of hitting the throttle. just be safe and use a 2s lipo with the stock electronics.

@@day146 just search anywhere for any m3 lock nut of decent quality. theyre very cheap and theyre sold everywhere from rc places to machining places to electronics places, etc. Theyre everywhere. M3 lock nut with nylon in them. i bought a 10 pack for 3$ off ebay. just search for "M3 Lock Nut" on ebay or amazon and search for the best price thats nearest to you.
And i have a bunch of upgrade vids on my channel.. too many to list here. But this is an awesome platform for upgrading to brushless. This is a great little car!

this thing is awesome upgraded. that being said. if you have the money to buy all the upgrades and car at once. just get the lc racing version. much better platform. the screws on this are just ughh. buttttt this does have beefier differentials and crown gears. i love this car and it looks amazing as a truggy.

That bent front tower is why I cringe everytime i hear you guys talk about a full metal rc. They tend to just become bent and out of wack. Plastic shock towers would probably be better on that buggy. Nice RC for the price.

The metal must be pretty cheap as the front shock tower is bent. Losi Mini 8ight is in different league and you pick them up second hand for similar money.
Just ordered this with 3x 2600max lipo's from Bangood. Fairly new to RC. Should I look to get a better charger than included usb?. Why?. Faster charging?. Safer? . Batteries last longer?. If so, what's the cheapest recommended?. Is the imax b6 on bangood any good? Thankyou in advance. Alex
Bonouka faster charging is what you get with a better charger and that’s about it, no idea on USB chargers as I mainly go with arma vehicles / traxxas cars and they have their own chargers. But ya just stick with the charger included it’s pretty fast for a cheap RC. Oh and the IMAX b6 is pretty good. stick with this car and maybe in the future if you find that RC’s are for you you can get a big ass Arma Kraton 8s or traxxas Xmaxx and when I say big holy shit I mean big. Biggest cars u can buy, but ya better charger = faster charging and stick with the included.

Always happens with these. The stub axles are not long enough for the nylon in the nut to grip. Either use half nuts or put the nuts on backwards so nylon first
