So great to hear you, Fito and Skip, talking about old times, your both representing those days. I've seen the band band several times, last a few month ago in Hannover. It has been a great pleasure for me. All the guys were in a good mood, awful after 57 years of boogieing. Thank you!!!
Some of my favorite blues players have been in Canned Heat or played with someone who was in Canned Heat. Junior Watson, Hollywood Fats, Gene Taylor, Robert Lucas... I saw Layer Taylor with Richard Innes play a lot around southern CA with Kid Ramos, Kim Wilson, Big Al Blake, and or course Junior Watson. Larry and Richard were the best rhythm section around. Lots of them played with James Harman, Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers, William Clarke, etc. I used to see Robert Lucas when he was first playing out solo. And I used to see Walter Trout all the time in Huntington Beach on main street. It's all connected. Long live the blues!
Well done Fito de la Parra for keeping the band going for all this time. Canned Heat really do make some great music, I'm looking forward to the new album with this lineup. Good to see Skip Taylor is still involved with the band too. Fans should read Fito's book for the full story.
The REAL life "Blues Brothers. Why these guys are NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame (really Rock and Roll Hall of SHAME in more ways than one) is beyond many. What more do you need for their criteria? They had hits endlessly, rallied for the blues non-stop from inception to now, played all the major rock festivals i.e. Monterey Pop, Woodstock and many others. Supported the elder bluesmen, especially John Lee Hooker, who had is then biggest album in "Hooker N' Heat" before his major comeback. No, instead shit like Madonna, and rap music goes in. Please induct these guys (only Fito remains from the originals before it's too late. None of this "honorable mention" award category like they just pulled with Alexis Korner & John Mayall for the 2024 inductees ( what a disgrace they don't get a full blown award for their contributions to the genre and keeping the blues alive. Rant over.
57 YEARS !! The year I was born. You guys are a major part of my memories!!! Long live the Blues!

Can't wait to see them live in Tampere, Finland, on June 6!!! Saw them last in Sweden Rock in 2014 so that's about time again. Cordially welcome!
