This Terrain Response Fault showed up this morning as I was getting ready to go away on a photo trip. Thank goodness I googled and found you. Followed your video and fixed it in a couple of minutes. Very very grateful...thank you Scott
John Matcham My 2012 Freelander 2 HSE SDV developed the "transmission fault reduced traction" on the dash and to be truthful I did not think disconnecting and reconnecting a sensor cable would do the trick, however, it did many thanks
Brilliant!!!!!! Had this problem today - phoned Landrover and they said it sounded like I need new brake pads. Pulled the plug as suggested back in and hey presto !! Good as new.
Awesome piece of advice ,cured the problem in no time thank you very much, some of the forums out on the internet are talking about all kinds of expensive fixes for this issue, highly recommend to everyone with this problem to try this first.
Thank so much. I was about to book it in to the garage.. The plug was quite gunky but it's the first time it's done it in 140k miles. Best way to keep the plug clean?
Awesome - thank you that fixed the problem. However, I do have another issue, my car battery goes flat intermittently (not whilst driving), I have a new car battery but it has not fixed the problem, any suggestions?
Great video thanks. I have a terrain fault. My Freelander defaults to the Sand terrain mode when I stop and re-start the vehicle. Can I lock it in standard mode as a default?
Scott, we tried your quick-fix for the transmission fault and although this worked momentarily, after testing the different terrain settings, the terrain response fault returned. Also the amber engine light illuminated when we switched on but didn't extinguish when we started the engine. Any comments or suggestions?
i just got a 2012 Range Rover from the auction and my terrain system not available its just off and im getting the message its not available but as soon as i picked up the car and drove it over 35 miles an hour the computer lifted the car on its own and it stayed the perfect height sense for the past couple weeks so I know my compressor working the suspension airbags are fine it's just I have no power connected to the buttons that lifts the car and lower it (( I think somebody disconnected the thing manually ))
Hi Scott, very interesting. A common error report with the Freelander 2 is "Transmission fault - reduced traction". Will the same disconnect/reconnect of the plug correct this fault. Regards, Dennis
Hi mate, i was out driving my FR2 (3.2 6 cilinders, gasoline) then the engine whent off and on just for a half of a second. It happen many times. I saw the light for DSC also whent on and off in the dashboard ( not aways). I turned off the DSC and the engine runned fine. From the last 2 weeks, seems to solve the problem, but i have to drive with DSC off. I have a ODB2 device and that showed no errors. So i think the problem is a sensor for the DSC control. Does you have a clue about this ?
hi , my freelander 2 cutoff while driving and fault shows ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT , it start straight away and drive fine but then cutoff after sometime , what will be possible issue . thanks for help
Brilliant. The dealer couldn't look at it for 2 weeks and I did it in 5 minutes! Many thanks, Richard
