Hi Scott I have the problem you describe but the number plate light is working. So there should be a voltage overload. But how can I fix the rear light since it’s not the number plate light… Thanks 🙏 Joergen

20/01/24 wish i could solve mine,drivers rear inner doesn't work at all,drivers rear outer works but no indicator working on the outer?ive replaced the inner unit still nothing,replaced the outer indicator bulb and nothing,now someone has rewired the outer light with wires and cut the plugs off,im wondering if the fault causing the indicator failure has put the inner unit out too,and could the wiring that's been added be to thick of a wire to keep the current correct?.but then the rear light still works on that unit just the indicator thats out😢

Many thanks for sharing your expertise. This just saved me hours of messing around with looms and connections, etc. One little 501 number plate bulb solved the issue 🙏

Mines not working (rear light), but it looks like there's condensation inside the unit.... is it fixable without buying new unit please .... they're so expensive 😩

Thanks for the advice cos my number plate light dat side u mentioned is out and before then the tail lights were working so I'll check the bulb it must gone if I chnage it will it work again.

The fault in my 307 was the earth connection in the plug/socket was corroded/burnt and none of the globes were working. I cleaned the lug as much as possible with a needle file and inserted a paper clip into the lug - this resulted in a connection and all the lights worked. One could also connect an earth bypass form the earth wire to the earth connection in the printed circuitry of the light fitting.

Nice one, came across this and had no idea. Changed number plate bulb and weird but it works , the left hand side rear lights are working. Who needs to pay garages a fortune when you have UA-cam 🤣🤣🤣

John Matcham My 2012 Freelander 2 HSE SDV developed the "transmission fault reduced traction" on the dash and to be truthful I did not think disconnecting and reconnecting a sensor cable would do the trick, however, it did many thanks

Cheers for the vid, had a customers one in today with no rear lights on one side. Bootlid and body lights both out. Replaced the blown number plate light bulb and still not working, turned car ignition and lights off to reset the body module and bobs your uncle. Fixed. The customer brought the car to me with 4 used led light clusters in the boot which they'd wasted time and money on to fail to fix the fault themselves....
