People use a torque wrench on those? Think your supposed to use lock tite too I never had. I do use some sly glide or whatever it’s called on the ears of the pads that go in the clips and the slide pins on the calipers. I’m jellies you have disc rear brakes “Gramps” has drums. I love drum brakes 😅

@@AbbyNormalGarage I just did the torque wrench so people wouldn’t say I didn’t. The bolts have some sort of thread locker on them that seems to remain. I made them tight by feel almost two years ago when I swapped the axle. They were still tight the other day 😅. The reason I was doing this was because the other side had a malfunction a couple weeks ago. My wife was driving it and it had a major failure. The right side rear caliper stuck I guess and ate the rotor in half. Actually, it was probably an ongoing issue I may have ignored for a while 😅 anyway the pistons came out of it because that’s how much material was gone. Brake fluid came out. I had to fix it in a parking lot that night. Finally got around to putting the other new pads on this side and thought why not film it…

@@Tennesseemountainhomestead wow! Glad she’s alright! That’s crazy how stuff like that happens. I think the craziest I’ve had is I was working on my neighbors truck and was test driving it. It started pulling hard to the right on the way back. 6 miles from the house I kept going until I got to a church I could pull off. The calipers was stuck the rotor was so hot it changed colors. Ended up beating the caliper off and driving it back with no brakes. Fortunately for me it was stick shift!

You could’ve just have take the the caliper off and left the bracket in you have to grease the pins anyways
